The greatest change imho is the architecture under the hood - more elements available per program and addition of more controllers and visual feedback. I think there will be more sounds down the line. I wonder if there will be another engine through the update?
Yes supposedly 4 voice VL great for breath sounds and strings pluck brass and extreme articulation perfect for ply aftertouch multi segment rhythm four pedals mod and pitch velocity and articulated voices. And perhaps formant fdrs for speech and realistic voices both with AI programmed intelligent human style bowel consonant voices.
Absolutely lovely Michael, my next keyboard for sure may I ask so you have a Yamaha sustain pedal and a Yamaha expression pedal both ? Do you happen to know the manufacturer of the stand ? Regards, Danny.
Hey Michael, I wanted to let you know that your playing is absolutely amazing. I was wondering if you could put together a demo of your keyboard playing sounds that are commonly used by church musicians. Although we do play similar sounds such as pianos, electric pianos, and pads, most of us tend to stick to those basic ones. I'm personally a GOSPEL and now CCM musician, so I mostly use piano, pads, organs, and brass instruments. Yamaha's Dx-7 patches and s700 for Montage, as well as their CFX and Concert Grand Pianos are some of my favorites. Would you be able to make a video using those enhanced on the new M8x? I'm particularly interested in hearing you play the Felt Piano and the new Electric Pianos and Pads that the M8x will offers. I also wanted to mention that while I do like the Nord Stage 3, Yamaha is my go-to brand. Yamaha has mastered the art of the weighted keys and I hear that this board is unbelievable to as it relates to it feel. If you are unable to make the video, I plan on making my own once I purchase my Montage M8x. I really want to show Nord users that the sounds and feel of the Montage, especially the new Montageable. M8x, are unbeatable.
...hope you don't have to wait too long for your new M8x. I mentioned earlier in the comments that the Faders can be reversed and used as organ Drawbars on the M8x. I'm one of the older kids putting together my first home studio 🎙 ~ I will be getting the Genos 2 and later the M8x... I grew up with the old southern Jazz, Cajon, and Motown sounds... I have the plug-ins to recreate the old Hitsville Studios sounds. I hope to use some of those old sounds for church recording projects. UNIVERSAL AUDIO has the Hitsville Studio plug-ins if you're interested. ... may your Holidays and New Year be blessed. PhilMW
This keyboard looks almost perfect… too bad they just didn’t put 4x4 Pads in place of the 4x4 buttons on the right to select sounds and categories. It would have been perfect with the additional Pads to be used to play drums, start loops, etc… (like the Fantom)
Arranger boards are better in any aspect than complex synths like this, I was disheartened after buying modx 7 , as I usually play yamaha psr sx 900 , I play by listening and pick up any song in 5 mins fully, psr sx 900 is the best to me with my budget cannot afford a Genos nor this, Life is complex as I am a intensive car doctor and daily music any music, workstarions and arrangers are different, Ubgave a wonderful demo of the machine, but the machine is very complex and lot of time needed to study it, God bless
Cmon yamaha. You never listened to your fans... Wheres the articulated wide display that Corg and other brands have been using..... You seem to be stubbornly mean with your technology and user friendly offerings. Even to lower end ( masses) fans
Having Montazh 2016 (which I want to sell and forget about it like a bad dream), I can say that in the new Montage Mxx with an increased memory capacity, all the sounds are plastic. The piano sound is disgusting, Nord Stage 4 has a super piano.
Yet its way better than Korg's new Flagship..... The Nautilus. I actually do think the sounds and features are a good step forward, and offer a lot which is new. If I had the Finances, skills and wherewithal to learn this Beast I'd have one in a heartbeat. Each to their own though. I'm sure that this wont be everyone's Cuppa' Tea.
What a great demo and beautiful performance, thank you so much Michael.
That synth grabbed my attention. So epic! 👏🏼
Beautiful demo .. Love it!
BRAVO to your performance 👏👏👏👏
This bloke isn't a flashy player. But he knows what he's doing. Love his style.
Amazing playing and amazing instrument!
This machine is a dream...😍👍
Wow. I've never played a synthesizer or even a broken piano. This sounds awesome.
Sounds are good for all-around workstation. Unfortunate they made Poly AT exclusive to 88...a lot of sales lost for that.
Wonderful demo and sounds, without too much of blah blah blah - thanks! 🙂
8:20 mark. Sheesh. That sound alone makes you want to buy the board.
Surely you must be joking. Of all amazing sounds, it's that generic 80s FM piano. Or did I miss something?
Wow😮, I’m liking the new sounds from the from the M8x. It’s not like the first Montage 8.
Beautiful piece of equipment, wicked demo, it's safe to say I'm sold on the idea. Now if only I had a spare £4k🤔😆

Michael forgot to mention, not only does the M8x offer the Rotory sound for the organ, the Faders can be reversed and used as Drawbars...

@@philwelborn6718 I got my Montage M8x, I love it. thanks for all your information. LOVE IT
I love this keyboard
Ridiculous price for M6x without polyphonic aftertouch !!!
I can't understand Yamaha's thinking on this ?
😔
The thinking was this: lots of people are still gonna buy it and we’re gonna be RICH! Even richer!

Keyboard sound good
What patch is at 8:26?
im on the fence with the Roland Integra 7 and a-49 controller or this... but dang this is a workhorse!
Nice, however we are still with sounds from 4 decades ago, I ask, can't they create synthesizers with modern and new sounds? or is this all there is?
Michael the Best ...felt piano uauuuu
Does the Montage have recording capacity ? If yes, how many tracks can we use ?
magnifico.💔💔💔💔💔💔
Do you think this is better then the nord?
It depends on what you are looking to do…. Creative movie landscapes or sound effects, yes… On stage performances on the fly, nord….
Did they added the C7 and S700?

Are they coming out with a smaller version of this keyboard workstation?
There's the 61 and 76 key versions. I think the only differences are they have synth action keybeds, and no poly aftertouch like the 88key.
Awesome 🎹😍 👍
❤ Organ

Mister mantap 👍🙏
Price?

Why did RUclips degrade the music audio? This completely squashes your efforts to sell the equipment.
Way too complicated. I’m sticking to my racks and 80s and 90s synths which sound phenomenal

Most boring sound design ever from a flagship keyboard? Literally nothing we haven’t heard before.
🤡

Very good demo showcasing bread and butter sounds (though no basses, eps, drums and leads).
No matter the technology in these keyboards, all the pianos sound fake. nord comes closest
nothing new here......all those sounds i have in 1981 DX7....his.performance so boring fall in sleep 💤
