One important piece for this banner, and i hope they continue for crossover banners in the future: Tifa's new weapon at 4-stars is at an incredible 41% drop rate, (and i think its higher for her 3-star too). I literally had a pull with all 10 weapons being her new gloves.
i went for her costume, 7 pulls and only the guaranteed tifa weapon was dropped. The really good thing imo is on stamp card 2. it straight up guarantees 2 copies, so if you were lucky (unlike me) on card 1 you can basically "guarantee" high overboost on card 2. ahhh someone with the red costume makes me happy :D i really like nanaki story in the original game, but i just cant get myself to play him in ever crisis. its a cool costume (looks are top) and you can build physical OR magical with it with 0 downsides, really nice. terrible to put her weapon on another banner... basically forcing red players to spend 30k max on the costume banner + 30k+ for his ob weapon banner... i think this is not only unfair (no other character was scammed so hard), its also a the worst idea they had so far. no one enjoys spending 60k gems for 1 weapon low overboost and 1 (i have to say is) mediocre costume, for a character with literally the weakest weapons in the entire game. this was not necessary. ps: i dont think the tifa weapon is very good, you pointed out exactly what i dont like about it. no overboost 6 on it and its a "bad" (not red xiii bad bad) weapon XD highly advise to go only 1 stamp card for the costume and wait the other 2(?) banners first... i think the meat of this event hasnt been shown yet.
Much needed video for the community. Thank you for taking a look at this while the wind banners are still up. Also good words of wisdom sticking to favorite characters. It is extremely hard to resist the Yuffie bait (this less so). That blue crystal pile is getting thick.

Excellent review. I 100% agree. Tifa, if maxed out, objectively becomes the best DPS in the game in terms of raw damage and animation speed, plus a unique debuff limit that with that many stacks of potency also deals damage. Paired with Amarant's claws, you have a 3 stacks buff that you put on yourself while dealing 780% damage (so you are not losing DPS in contrast to using pure buff weapons like Aonibi), and you max out phys potency and patk with just those two alone. If you put Shinra Blade you also have Ability potency on top of the already maxed out phys ability potency, or alternatively you get to reach 6 stacks of Fire potency for the 30% slot by using Rage Collar, Prototype Blade and Crewkicker. And lastly, the weapon has X sigil boost slot, which incidentally is the sigil mostly used with Fire enemies, so everything clicks together. Nothing in the game currently can surpass that. Red, we need to see his weapon to judge, but if one is pulling for Tifa, one will eventually get his costume anyway, so it is something that I am looking forward to it, as until we see the weapon, we literally have a costume that does not work. The fact that they gave it this way, might mean the second part of the event will have a banner with 2 weapons and 1 costume (probably Barret's if the Rebirth stage theme remains as with Red's outfit). As far as how to pull, I will definitely try to max out the weapon. I am on page 3, I have finished both Step Up banners as they have 2 copies there, and right now am at OB7... there is one copy in page 3 and I have 165 Tifa parts... that means I just need 1 copy to drop by the end of page 3 besides the guaranteed one. This weapon is worth it, as was Zidane's.
I pulled on this and got prob the best luck out of any banner I have done since launch! Most banner costumes are worth getting and these 2 outfits, I think, are great. Having a Tifa weapon that is similar to Zidanes sword pairs SO well with her Amarant gloves! I spent about 24k crystals, bought a pack for an extra 6k red crystals, spent 1500 of those reds to buy the 10x Chocobo tickets, so about 11-12 pulls and I just finished out the first 2 cards got quite a good amount of wishlist items, including 2 copies of his Rage Collar(OB3 for me now) AND got Tifa's gloves to OB5! I took her into the co-op and she was SMACKING! 21kish damage from her ability with only mid att buff. I have been actively trying to get Yuffie's Arctic Star to OB6 because I do actually use her on Phys teams. And the R abilities pair really well with Tifa! Patk boost and (de)buff extension works wonders on someone who is a Phys sub-DPS/(de)buffer like Tifa.
For the red XIII weapon thing the only goodside is that it makes it that much easier to get multiple copies of Tifa's weapon. Which is good for a limited banner.
Tifa doesn't have a costume on my account and I'd love to get this one but man, I love Red 13!! T_T I'm going to wait to see what the second banner looks like for this crossover before deciding on what to pull on.
Got super lucky with pulls and stamps last night, dropping two and three golds here and there, even had five golds on one pull! Which is good because I sucked out the last few banners I pulled, I had like one streak where I went eight pulls in a row without a single gold, but not this time! So many wish lists dropped, and managed to get OB8 on gloves from pulls and using weapon parts as well, while getting Red's costume, all with just a little over 30k gems. I was pulling for Red's costume regardless, considering it's the best he's had so far, both designwise and statwise, so getting so close to maxing out the banner weapon before doing so is a huge bonus! Now I can hold off and see what the next banner holds, I can always finish this one with more weapon parts later! Good luck to everyone else, may the golds be ever in your favor!
So uhh. Sephiroth has a Fire weapon in the Exchange thing on the event. What if they add another exchange thing (like they always do) and it has Red's weapon on there? (Which btw, you're very likely to max out compared to pulling on the banner.)

I feel like they just miss marks on costumes for select characters like Red XIII in favor for other popular ones. I think Red should have had a costume for the New Year event as the mythical fire beast. A costume with more fires like a flame mohawk to match his tail. Barret should have had his sailor outfit during the summer event. I had other ideas, but I didn't write them down.

as i didn't pull for amarants claw and zidane sword, i was missing a good non elemental weapon (especially for bahamut ex 2 or even grastia path), so this time I decided to pull. And it went so well, 33k gems, i'm 4 stamps away from the 2nd costume, and i have OB6 guide gloves (i used 100 weapon part to get the last copy). i still have 25k gems left for the next banner. I will pull for the last 4 stamps if it's not interesting to me But i higly agree with you having 2 crossover weapons is a bad idea so I hope sephiroth won't have any weapon because i already have kuja's blade
7:37 I don't entirely agree with that statement. I have both of her costumes now and I can say without a doubt that I will be using the new outfit prob 90% of the time over her Amarant garbs. My reasoning: You can max out the Patk stance boost fairly easy without using the Amarant garbs, so then you put this new costume on and now you have a boost in Patk and the mastery skill will still apply instead of being deadweight. The HP boost from the garb is nice, but plenty of ways to subsidize HP. Basically just reiterating what you said lol.
13:47 It would be better to switch those 2 weapons around in your case. Your overall attack goes up and you get the Boost Phys stance up to level 5 so that's another 15%.

I strongly suggest everybody waits for the next banners. I suspect a Zidane sword for Sephiroth identical 1300% NE except MAG damage and Mag Ability potency

Red XIII's last costume was a joke but they made him look great on this one by giving him a whole new color pallet! Too bad it's on a collab banner where there's no real reason for F2P to pull on other than cosmetics. This "whale or don't bother" on collab banners is very dissapointing. Don't like the way they're doing that.

I spent 80.000 crystals and got as far as the 3rd stamp page, i need one more pull to get the last stamp and get one more glove for tifa weapon and then i have all the pink stars full.
It’s averages 57K to get to OB6. With 4 gloves and just over 600 weapon parts. In short you need 2 golds in your pull. I would recommend to have 80K at least to stay on the safe side if aiming for OB6. Assume you only got one gold instead of two. If you play from the start you should have 140 tifa weapon parts, hence roughly 40 weapons part short (see below). If you manage to get no gold. Sorry mate, but RNG is not on your side. --- Calculations: Avg stamps per pull is 1.89, hence around 6.34 pulls to do one full board or 19 pulls to do 3. 19 pulls is 57K gems, and you will get the below. 4 guaranteed guide gloves. 396 weapon parts (or 1.98 gold guide gloves) - 185 pulls at 1% - 1 pull at 13% 226.1 weapons parts - 185 pulls at 10% to get purple (10 parts) = 185 parts - 185 pulls at 20% to get blue (1 part) = 37 parts - 1 pull at 41% to get purple = 4.1 parts
Depends what you need. I would say Rage collar, Ultimatic, Bald Eagle, Motor Drive, Sephiroth new fire sword are generally a bunch of good choices. That way you have enough sub weapons for all your sub DPS slots on multi characters too.
really hate what they did with red costume.. if you didn't want tifa you still have to waste your crystals.. scummy honestly. that being said I don't focus on tifa, I went all in for yuffie so I'm skipping this banner and waiting for the next which will probably have some sephiroth banner (we haven't had one in a while) and I'll pull for that for sure

Game is becoming predatory by the day. In my honest opinion, I stopped playing this game cause I can see this game dying down and then being shut down like other SE gacha titles which arent well received.
i think it's really funny about content creators saying "if it's your fav go for it", tecnically i see videos to know how good the weapon/character are, if it's meta or any good. if my goal it's to pull only for fav I don't see the point to watch should you pull videos... NOT MY INTENTION TO BE TOXIC, just saying what i think about it
It's mainly said not to make people feel pressured to pull or not pull. It's main purpose in giving the information about the weapons and costumes and help you figure out for what you want to do in your account without the content creator adding FOMO into your decision making.

Game is becoming predatory by the day. In my honest opinion, I stopped playing this game cause I can see this game dying down and then being shut down like other SE gacha titles which arent well received.
i think it's really funny about content creators saying "if it's your fav go for it", tecnically i see videos to know how good the weapon/character are, if it's meta or any good. if my goal it's to pull only for fav I don't see the point to watch should you pull videos... NOT MY INTENTION TO BE TOXIC, just saying what i think about it
It's mainly said not to make people feel pressured to pull or not pull. It's main purpose in giving the information about the weapons and costumes and help you figure out for what you want to do in your account without the content creator adding FOMO into your decision making.
Sometimes people forget to just have fun and get lost in missing out. So I like to remind everyone to go for favourites.
