I did, as a young nurse, witness an elderly gentleman dancing on his bed, two or three in the morning, with his arms extended forward and upward while smiling and his eyes wide open, like a child that sees his mother ... I helped him back to bed and went to check on him 20 min. later. He had passed away. Prior to this event he was bedridden and unable to stand up. May Allah guide us. P. S. Paul, glad to be back, life kept me busy, unwillingly. ☺
Many years ago as a newly qualified doctor I was about to perform surgery on a woman and she had a bad reaction to the anaesthetic and went into cardiac arrest. We immediately started resuscitation and she eventually was revived. When she woke up she said that she was floating above her body and could see us resuscitating her. She went on to give me a very accurate description of the exact events and actions of the medical team during the process including the actions of individual doctors and nurses.
Is it true? I am currently writing a blog about lucidity and death. And similarities of DMT trips with near death experience. Can you elaborate what other things she experienced? When this occur(Which time? Which year and month?) And if you don't mind can you tell what hospital was it and country name?(If you don't like you can hide it.)
I heard that in some hospitals they have a pattern on top of a cupboard that only a person looking down can see and describe. This is to test if out of body experience is real.
One scenario that changed my life: I was born in a muslim family but I was an atheist and tbh my family was never religious neither taught me about Islam. I was addicted to marijuana and cigarettes. During the Ramadan(month of fast), I never fasted because who wants to fast 16 hours and wants to restrain oneself from smoking for 16 hours for a deity you dont believe. One afternoon, I dont know why my heart felt like crying profusely as if I lost my mother. I felt like I need to turn back to Allah S.W.T and unintended I did prostration to God saying: Please just help me. I never mend my way back and I never smoked again in my life, I never even got the desire nor any side affects of having of leaving off of an addiction. I learnt about Islam and started practising but to this day I dont have a logical explanation and it just felt right and soothing. Alhamdulillah, it is Allah S.W.T who HE guides.
I have returned to practicing Islam, however still am heavily addicted to THC. I know my prayers probably don't count, however I perform them anyway for the hopes it cleanses my heart and helps me to want to stop and I do enjoy worshipping Allah. Make Dua for me please? Your story was very encouraging to me.
I am a GP … I’ve come across this experience quite a few times and spoken to others who’ve reported the same and yet this is one of the few times I’ve seen this talked about .
There are 1. OBE's 2. NDE's 3. Deathbed visions 4. Hard problem of consciousness 5. Problem of I All indicate hint of something beyond the physical body and life after death.
Thank you for this analysis. I would like to add one more verse over to what you have mentioned. Chapter (17) sūrat l-isrā (The Night Journey) Sahih International: And they ask you, [O Muhammad], about the soul. Say, "The soul is of the affair of my Lord. And mankind have not been given of knowledge except a little." We really do not know much about the soul.
There was this guy, he was 34 years old, had cancer, and he was treated in hospital, because of the pain, he had to be sedated and put under a heavy dosage of morphine, he was terminally ill, he was also an atheist according to his sister and girlfriend who both were also atheists before this episode (later changed their stance) (To make a long story short) He was heavily sedated and could not move, speak or even react to anything around him, his bed was right against the wall, the day before his death, his girlfriend and sister came to visit him, so he suddenly woke up and sat on his bed, was talking to them, he was in good spirits. Suddenly he asked his sister and girlfriend, who is this guy behind me who is staring at me and smiling, the two girls thought he was hallucinating, he told them, I am as lucid as you are I am not hallucinating, I assure you there is a man standing right behind me smiling at us. In order to argue with him, so they told him, he is a nurse, he replied, a nurse with a long white robe? Do you think I am stupid or losing it? The next day they visited him only to find him dying, 10 minutes after they arrived he had passed away, then they realised he might have seen the angel of death or the angels who would take him up, they became believers and started their journey looking into the existence of God.
Hallucinations can happen in terminal illness. Angel of death is visible only during death when soul is pulled out. Once the angels are visible, no going back. Else the law of test of life about faith is contradicted.
@@islam2.0 I didn't say it was the angel of death, "They" believed he might have seen something, we cannot explain, yes, once you see the angels there is no going back, but what did he see? He was as lucid as anyone. So, it couldn't have been a hallucination. Allah knows what he saw. Can you explain what all other people saw that was real? We know the soul wanders even when we are asleep, and the soul sometimes sees things and goes places even when we're asleep. So it's not as simple as labelling it as a hallucination.
I recall vividly that, as a young child of probably the age of 5-7, when I would lay down to sleep only to feel my body floating towards the ceiling. As soon as I’d get close to the ceiling, I’d “jerk” back into my body. This happened often. One time, I floated beyond the ceiling and the roof, and could see the garden from above until I felt a concern, at which point I jerked back into my body. Many years later, I took up long distance running and would experience “runners’ high.” During one such episode, I remember running with both my fists over my chest, my legs running on automatic pilot, and I could see myself running from above.
@@islam2.0 No, not anymore. Many years ago when I was exploring spirituality, I read that children can have natural tendencies towards out of body experiences (OBE), but they invariably loose it when they’re brought up with the “conventional” lifestyle. There’s also meditations and training that can be performed to regain these abilities, but I am not sure if they are haram or not. I wasn’t concerned about the topic until I came across and viewed this video.
Sobhan'Allah.. I was watching your video and stopped when you were talking about near death experiences, then I went reading the Qur'an from where I stopped last time. It was the following verse : Did you (O Muhammad ﷺ) not think of those who went forth from their homes in thousands, fearing death? Allah said to them, "Die". And then He restored them to life. Truly, Allah is full of Bounty to mankind, but most men thank not. [Surat Al Baqarah ; 243]
Friday Dec 2010 i visited my mom at the hospital she told me that while she was in the ICU last night i.e Thu, she saw an elder man with long white beard, fare complexion and bright white clothes, very tall, she got frightened in the moment but she said As Salam Alaikum to him and turned the other side of her bed. On Sat morning she passed away.
Hearing the way these doctors reacted is so sad to me. I just can’t imagine being dismayed/terrified by a heavenly encounter. Instead of ecstatic and awestruck.
Amazing content from Paul! The way Paul connects the whole argument with the last verse from the Quran is superb. It is also a wake-up call and reminder for all of us.
I have had lucid dreams of myself floating in the living room, floating around the ceiling and hovering over my surroundings. I was pure mind in my formlessness. I was nothing but consciousness liberated from the shackles of my own body.
Some 19 years back it was February and snowing i was alone with my father in house. Having a beautiful calm chat and my father said please check someone is knocking on door to let in, I went to check moving curtains, looking into the lawn where main outside gate could be seen. There was no one,I replied to my father. A while later my father said someone is knocking please check i went and repeated exact steps and no one was there. Again 3rd time my father said someone is knocking to come in and this time he said I will check myself ,the moment he moved curtain to see outside gate. The moment he looked out he turned to me and said " hey please lock doors HE is coming" at this time I turned to door on my other side and turned back to look at my dad and saw him flat on floor . I was as baffled as a sane person could and my dad passed away in few next minutes calmly looking into my eyes that had turned red. But what I know of life my father was the noblest , pious ,kind and patient human I have ever met.
After watching your video, I asked my friend yesterday if he believes in lucidity. He told me that a few days ago a woman died in his neighborhood. And a few moments before her death she became quite restless and was regularly looking ahead and saying that he had come to get me.At that time, there was no one else in the house except the woman's daughter, but she was constantly being told that he is moving towards me, that he is coming to get me. And at that time the woman began to suffer and died.
Subhan’Allah. This is an amazing subject. It’s as if our consciousness is housed in the body and at the moments before death it’s set free from the limitations of the body.

Very interesting. Thank you! That reminded me of a poem by Rumi, Persian mystic poet: “I died as mineral and became a plant, I died as plant and rose to animal, I died as animal and I was human, Why should I fear? When was I less by dying? Yet once more I shall die human, To soar with angels blessed above. And when I sacrifice my angel soul I shall become what no mind ever conceived. As a human, I will die once more, Reborn, I will with the angels soar. And when I let my angel body go, I shall be more than mortal mind can know.” Using an analogy with Caterpillar changing/turning into a butterfly in the cocoon, the question is: does Caterpillar knows that by "dying" as caterpillar it will "rebirth" as a butterfly? Upon "birth" as butterfly, does butterfly knows that before it was a caterpillar?
I don't know why, but it is so comforting to listen to you read about this. I used this video to relax and from time to time just close my eyes and just feel peaceful
Some years ago, as a Hospital Chaplain, I was visiting an African man (and practicing Buddhist) who was in the final stages of cancer. I was asked to visit him by the Palliative care team. On my first visit, 3 of his friends were visiting and reciting mantras to him; it was very moving. On my second visit, we explored his path to Buddhism (from Methodism), and his impending death, and I will never forget him saying to me..."my 20 years of meditation and practice are all for this moment.....let us now see...". As he was being transferred to the local hospice, I happened to be at the reception, as he was taken to the ambulance. He was completely focused and had no time for small talk. He was clearly in a deep state of meditation. A few days later, I was visiting a Funeral Directors, to discuss a funeral, when I happened to see the man's name on the chapel of rest door. I was invited to sit with him a few minutes, and he looked utterly at peace and serene. Even now, many years later (and as a practicing Muslim) I was moved by his presence and focus, as his "moment" came.

Although not exactly the same thing, I can remember my grandparents (both born before the 1920's) saying that shortly before a person died, it was common for them to suddenly began to see visions of angels mostly. Some would say they heard singing. Of course almost all people died at home in our very rural area with only a minimum of painkillers if any. As modern medicine developed, these accounts almost completely became extinct in the 80's. These previous reports of visions and sounds near death were written off as hallucinations or wishful thinking. Later, the common medical approach began to be to dope a terminal patient up so they would die comfortably. This left no room for cognition on the part of the patient. No wonder these accounts became rare. The things spoken of in this video were commonplace even as late as 60 years ago among the people I knew.
I would like to believe that there is a comfortable death but I really doubt that. The drugged up patient is probably not showing a reaction to pain like with a scream or a violent movement but the pain is probably still felt. It's scary to think about this. Feeling the extreme pain but you can't show it through sound or movement.

@@doityourownway I understand what you meant but from the Islamic paradigm we won't feel pain after we die if God is pleased with us. In fact we would be in a state of total bliss. I was talking about pain someone might feel by being incapacitated by some drugs while still alive. We know what's going to happen to evil people and worldly pain would mean nothing compared to punishment that God will put them through inside the grave and ultimately in hell for eternity if they were disbelievers.
@@doityourownway There's a movie based on a true story I watched some years ago about a patient a who underwent an agony of being operated on while feeling internally conscious. Honestly The topic says it all. Isn’t it amazing that every Doctor/Surgeon said almost same words diff order and that is “I can’t believe it” “ I just can’t take this “ etc. That’s the thing. More interestingly, and something greatly worth looking into, is that the verse actually says “Your eyesight today is (like) Iron”, eluding to the strength of this material (such that people at that time can understand how strong their senses become)!
14:37 There was another anecdote also in the hospital when a guy was brought in unresponsive almost DOA, as the nurses and doctors were hurrying to save his life, his soul or spirit started to wander around, so he heard everything that went on between the nurses and the doctors, he also told stories of what other nurses were doing at the same time in another ward, he also called nurses by their names before he was even introduced to them upon regaining consciousness. He also spoke of another gentleman in another ward who had a similar issue when he was brought in. He described everything he heard and saw, to the staff this is impossible because he hasn't been anywhere near that ward or even to another floor.
I would like to salute you my dear brother for this amazing video of true events for what they call ( near death experiences) , which all the time astonished me and affirmed the words of Allah ( SWT). Good day to you
Elizabeth Kubler-Ross made extensive study and reported the results in her book - On Death and On Dying published over 50 years ago. I believe she mentioned reports of over 20,000 NDE.
I don’t know how this relates to the topic but I have never heard anything like this before or even after. My uncle back in the 80’s visited us and he told me about an experience when he had a stroke, he never mentioned that experience to anyone, at least that’s what he told me. He was lying in the hospital and saw two angels on the wall (apparently) talking about taking his soul away, he told them to give me some time so I can have my last two children married than they went away.

After my resuscitation from a clinical death and many out of body experiences, I truly know that these are true experiences. The spirit "moving" has to do with the MITRAL VALVE! I had many out of bodies, after being revived by paddling. Each time I was taken to the hospital, after re entering my body, I was told that I had Mitral Valve prolapse.. I had never had a heart problem, so I can truly believe that the burning from toes up to my throat, damaged every organ in my body. I was paddled so much that all of the skin turned black. I have been in the ceiling, going out the front door, etc., While my body was still in the bed. One thing I can say is that people who go to Death's Door and is sent back, does not come back stupid! It is like 359 degrees, so many things become so clear and people think you are a know it all or nuts!
My neighbor, who is now muslim, once told me his conversion story. He said that he had an accident (he was non muslim that time) and went to comma. In comma he used to continuously see white bright people saying something like la la la etc. He said when he came out of comma, he heard azan somewhere and immediately recognized these are same sounds. Then he accepted Islam.
My grandfather, a few years before passing away, had Alzheimer’s. While he was sleeping or in a state of unconsciousness, he kept mentioning my name (Paolo, Paolo, Paolo). During his final days, when all of us relatives knew that he would soon pass away, we gathered in his bedroom. I was tired, so I got up and said goodbye, telling everyone that I was going home to rest for a bit. At that point, my grandfather unexpectedly regained lucidity, called me, and said, "Paolo, why do you have to leave and these others (referring to all his children and relatives) don't need to understand anything?!" I’m the only one in the family who has converted to Islam, and even today I wonder what my grandfather might have seen or perceived. I felt as though I was being reprimanded for not doing Dawah enough.
Wow amazing. Similar incident happened with my grandfather. It was 1974 my grandfather was hospitalized for broken leg and pneumonia, he was completely bed ridden and under oxygen. When he passed away in hospital his office colleagues were informed. They could not believe it, because they claimed my grandfather meet with them physical at office completely cure and fit just a day before he passed away. I rarely shared this with others cause now a days people think this is made up.
Fascinating stuff. As always, your content, brother Paul, is thought-provoking and deeply spiritual. These events underscore the existence of a soul- the spiritual dimension of ourselves. May Allah continue to increase our spiritual consciousness.
This explains my longtime dilemma; if God will judge us based on our free will, and the brain is nothing more than a bunch of chemicals intereacting with each-other, then what happens when these chemicals are so constrained by the environment to act in a certain way, wouldn’t that make our behavior just a result of predetermined laws of physics making their moves? Now I know that thought and action do not come only from the brain; rather the brain seems to be only the device through which something beyond matter functions.
God judges those whom are compos mentis. We who are able to think ,rationalise & to determine logic will be judged based on our doings. If you have heard the message of Allah in One and the final message is Muhammad (saw) yet still choose to ignore… you have denied yourself eternal bliss.
This book is highly pertinent given the materialist times we live Dr. Peter Fenwick is also another Oxford Psychologist that has done extensive research on NDEs and documents lucidity as well.

The only thing was the room and everything else seemed like it was black and white like an old film. The nurses didn’t believe me until I gave them descriptions of things.

As a first comment, which will likely be read, I will like to request the following... Can we have more videos that deals with dreams? I wonder how an ability to interperate them might relate to say, someone's ability to pull meaning out of a poem. Films for instance are said to be like experiencing a dream. Because its such a subjective thing I wonder if the dreamer themselves are the best person to find their meaning or not. Anyway, sorry for the ramble. I just wish the subject matter was explored a little more. Keep up the great work!

In the Islamic paradigm there is a concept of a Qareen . A Qareen is a spiritual double of human, either part of the human himself or a complementary creature in a parallel dimension. Due to its ghostly nature, the Qareen is classified among the Jinn-type creatures, although usually not actually a Jinn . I’m wondering if it could be that phenomenon!!
Though that state of lucidity for mature person the clarity , language communication, awake , affection and all that before death is mind boggling, one still finds it more intriguing about infants who have never learned how to speak and all that cognitive stuff that comes with growing up from that stage , spend hours on earth after birth, talk with clarity , talk about Allah and passaway.
Paul the great thing about these videos is that they can be used to bring atheists back to at least the basic belief in a soul and a creator...to save them from complete kuffir...and from that point at least theres some hope of mercy as opposed to the difficult position of being a complete denier. And god knows best.
The Prophet (S. A. W. S.), too, clarified the value of this life in relation to the hereafter. He said, “The life of this world compared to the hereafter is as if one of you were to put his finger in the ocean and take it out again then compare the water that remains on his finger to the water that remains in the ocean” [Sahîh Muslim (2858)]. “Let not then this present life deceive you” (Quran, Surah Fatir: 5). Ibn ‘Umar said: The Messenger of Allah (S. A. W. S.) took me by the shoulder and said: “Be in this world as though you were a stranger or a traveller/wayfarer.” “Seeing that you were dead and He gave you life. Then He will give you death, then again will bring you to life (on the Day of Resurrection) and then unto Him you will return” (Quran, Sura Al-Baqarah: 28). (23:112) Then Allah will ask them: "For how many years did you stay on earth?" (23:113) They will say: "We stayed for a day or part of a day.100 Ask of those who keep count of this." (23:114) He will say: "You stayed only for a while, if you only knew that.101 (23:115) Did you imagine that We created you without any purpose,102 and that you will not be brought back to Us?" Premortal awakening can cause a lot of problem for doctors in the middle east. Some families confuse this incident with remission of the causing disease, then they say:" the doctor killed him, two hours before he was awake and talking with us joyfully". Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Did you not see when the man died and his eyes were fixedly open? He (Abu Huraira) said: Yes. He (the Holy Prophet) said: It is due to the fact that when (the soul leaves the body) his eyesight follows the soul. Sahih Muslim 921
The Shaytaan remains eager to tempt a person so long as his soul is still in his body, so he comes to him, whispers to him and makes falsehood appear attractive to him. The Prophet peace be upon him taught us this dua ( prayer ) which we say before salam in our prayers…The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When one of you has finished the final tashahhud, let him seek refuge with Allaah from four things: from the torment of Hell, from the torment of the grave, from the trials of life and death, and from the evil of the Dajjaal.”
There are a lot of hospital based out of body accounts. A lot involved floating and witnessing own resuscitation and going through walls and ceilings. Visions of Heaven and Hell most heard among critically ill Intensive Care patients.
A brilliant video.. But isn't it amazing that people get surprised by such experiences when they are very familiar with the idea of daily sleeps and dreams!! According to Quraan "اللَّهُ يَتَوَفَّى الْأَنفُسَ حِينَ مَوْتِهَا وَالَّتِي لَمْ تَمُتْ فِي مَنَامِهَا ۖ فَيُمْسِكُ الَّتِي قَضَىٰ عَلَيْهَا الْمَوْتَ وَيُرْسِلُ الْأُخْرَىٰ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ" "God takes the souls of the dead and the souls of the living while they sleep- He keeps hold of those whose death He has ordained and sends the others back until their appointed time- there truly are signs in this for those who reflect." 39:42 This means ours souls are daily away during our sleep... yet nobody is thinking of it!!

Brother paul, One thing to note is,none of the current scientific methods will be able to detect anything from higher dimensions,if there was to happen something in it. What i mean by this is, if we were like drawings on a paper, living in a 2D world,we will never able to look and experience what is going on the 3D world,ie the people looking in to the paper,in which we are drawn. What this essentially means is that,if beings were in the 4D world, they could watch over us,from any direction and even see what's inside of us. Isn't the perfect description for Jinns?

Allah bless you and your family
I have returned to practicing Islam, however still am heavily addicted to THC.
I know my prayers probably don't count, however I perform them anyway for the hopes it cleanses my heart and helps me to want to stop and I do enjoy worshipping Allah. Make Dua for me please? Your story was very encouraging to me.
I am a GP … I’ve come across this experience quite a few times and spoken to others who’ve reported the same and yet this is one of the few times I’ve seen this talked about .
Wow!
There are
1. OBE's
2. NDE's
3. Deathbed visions
4. Hard problem of consciousness
5. Problem of I
All indicate hint of something beyond the physical body and life after death.
Thank you for this analysis. I would like to add one more verse over to what you have mentioned. Chapter (17) sūrat l-isrā (The Night Journey) Sahih International: And they ask you, [O Muhammad], about the soul. Say, "The soul is of the affair of my Lord. And mankind have not been given of knowledge except a little."
We really do not know much about the soul.
There was this guy, he was 34 years old, had cancer, and he was treated in hospital, because of the pain, he had to be sedated and put under a heavy dosage of morphine, he was terminally ill, he was also an atheist according to his sister and girlfriend who both were also atheists before this episode (later changed their stance)
(To make a long story short)
He was heavily sedated and could not move, speak or even react to anything around him, his bed was right against the wall, the day before his death, his girlfriend and sister came to visit him, so he suddenly woke up and sat on his bed, was talking to them, he was in good spirits.
@@allee3476 Very interesting! Can you float out of your body during sleep whenever you wish?
Your dad was afraid of the person knocking on the door ?
After watching your video, I asked my friend yesterday if he believes in lucidity. He told me that a few days ago a woman died in his neighborhood. And a few moments before her death she became quite restless and was regularly looking ahead and saying that he had come to get me.At that time, there was no one else in the house except the woman's daughter, but she was constantly being told that he is moving towards me, that he is coming to get me. And at that time the woman began to suffer and died.

Very interesting. Thank you! That reminded me of a poem by Rumi, Persian mystic poet:
“I died as mineral and became a plant,
I died as plant and rose to animal,
I died as animal and I was human,
Why should I fear? When was I less by dying?
Yet once more I shall die human,
To soar with angels blessed above.
And when I sacrifice my angel soul
I shall become what no mind ever conceived.
As a human, I will die once more,
Reborn, I will with the angels soar.
And when I let my angel body go,
I shall be more than mortal mind can know.”
Using an analogy with Caterpillar changing/turning into a butterfly in the cocoon, the question is:
does Caterpillar knows that by "dying" as caterpillar it will "rebirth" as a butterfly?
Upon "birth" as butterfly, does butterfly knows that before it was a caterpillar?
Compelling, fascinating and very well narrated topic.

@@redsox7897 The scariest part after the body is already turned to ashes, bones, or dust, the Sakratul Maut (the agony of death) still continues after the separation of the body and soul. Such is the fate of criminals who disbelieve, and caused corruption in the land, like Pharoah and Hitler, and present leaders who commit atrocities against humanity.
More interestingly, and something greatly worth looking into, is that the verse actually says “Your eyesight today is (like) Iron”, eluding to the strength of this material (such that people at that time can understand how strong their senses become)!
Fantastic work as always Paul. Thank you.

After my resuscitation from a clinical death and many out of body
experiences, I truly know that these are true experiences.
The spirit "moving" has to do with the MITRAL VALVE!
I had many out of bodies, after being revived by paddling. Each time I was taken to the hospital, after re entering
my body, I was told that I had Mitral Valve prolapse..
At that point, my grandfather unexpectedly regained lucidity, called me, and said, "Paolo, why do you have to leave and these others (referring to all his children and relatives) don't need to understand anything?!"
I’m the only one in the family who has converted to Islam, and even today I wonder what my grandfather might have seen or perceived. I felt as though I was being reprimanded for not doing Dawah enough.
Very interesting topic. The conclusion part relating two Verses of the Qu’ran is so inclusive .
This book is highly pertinent given the materialist times we live

This is truly fascinating!
A. W. S.) took me by the shoulder and said: “Be in this world as though you were a stranger or a traveller/wayfarer.”
“Seeing that you were dead and He gave you life. Then He will give you death, then again will bring you to life (on the Day of Resurrection) and then unto Him you will return” (Quran, Sura Al-Baqarah: 28).
(23:112) Then Allah will ask them: "For how many years did you stay on earth?" (23:113) They will say: "We stayed for a day or part of a day.100 Ask of those who keep count of this." (23:114) He will say: "You stayed only for a while, if you only knew that.101 (23:115) Did you imagine that We created you without any purpose,102 and that you will not be brought back to Us?"

"God takes the souls of the dead and the souls of the living while they sleep- He keeps hold of those whose death He has ordained and sends the others back until their appointed time- there truly are signs in this for those who reflect." 39:42
This means ours souls are daily away during our sleep... yet nobody is thinking of it!!
Random i know but i got the most flagrant advert for that movie Lady of Heaven 😭 it was 2 minutes of disaster movie montage and then 40 seconds of bad acting. Theyre really beating a dead horse
I got it too. :/
