This is a must view for anyone at all levels. Often get so caught up in perfect swing technique, but if you cant "get there" to the ideal spot, you're already at a disadvantage. Thanks Karue!
Karue really is pretty selfless in all of this and I really appreciate that from him. Like he even hits left handed and rips a few into the net so that he can demonstrate this in the most novice way and really get a feel for the experience of lower level players (without really worrying about his reputation). There are a lot of people out there trying to sell you things who would never do that, they would make sure they always look amazing so they can sell you their product. What a truly devoted coach!!! So humbled and inspired by his content.
This channel imo is one of the best on tennis teaching, but still such a hidden gem. And as much as I like hidden gems remaining hidden, I do hope it gets the attention it deserves!
I think this is literally the *MOST* important detail about learning tennis. People get hung up on how to put more spin on their strokes, or getting more power, or increasing the accuracy of their serve. But if you never master footwork, you'll always suck even if your form is near-perfect.
Karue's footwork is so next level. He not only sets up perfectly for each shot, but you can see he even does it efficiently, like once he gets into position he kind of relaxes a little bit. I think I need to learn that, b/c I jitter and hop around so much that I just get exhausted.
I just started recording my tennis matches and can finally see how bad my footwork is on video. Thank you Karue for this video. People always talk about moving your feet but never go into the specific details on how to move or what to visualize.
Karue is out here once again solving all my tennis problems in under 10min! Literally the best RUclipsr when it comes to instructional tennis content. P.S. Eu tenho assistido seus videos ja faz um bom tempo e só agora descobri que vc é brasileiro kkkkkkkk.
I like this advise. Footwork videos can often feel a little intimidating to me since it feels like I'm being asked to memorize dance moves. These tips are some much easier to convert to practice.
Thanks, Karue, you are a great coach. It's good to have everything explained and demonstrated so clearly. Personally, I prefer watching your right-handed shots as they provide a good mental image to imitate. But I understand the point you are making with the non-dominant hand shots. Thanks again, Karue.
Awesome video Karue. It is interesting to see how the opposite arm looks when hitting your left vs right forehand. With the righty forehand, the left arm naturally catches the racquet and it flows seamlessly. With the lefty forehand, the right arm stiffly drops prior to contact.
The opposite arm is so important for proper body turn. I strugled with FH for long, until I figured out it is due to ill position/body turn (shoulders too open), but when I started to use the opposite arm it all fits well. Thanks Karue! Obviously, with 2-handed BH had no problems like that as shoulders turn by default.
Thank you so much. 💓 in our club court etiquette is often forgotten. Like 1) people crossing over on our sides without permission from players even if there's another exit - thus causing distractions. 2) People at the audience yelling or being noisy while a point is in play. 3)Some players don't like it when you drink water every three games. They make faces etc. 4)cheaters who deliberately call out just to get a point... Is there a nice reference for us on tennis etiquette?
Haha, I watched the first part and though 'I remember Karue's forehand being much more fluent than that' then you pointed out that you were playing lefty to demonstrate. Brilliant!
First time I watch this tennis channel and I am impressed because the content is great and well explained. Fast and rush movements not mean gret tennis, footwork is key as a foundation of everything else that is going to happen when shooting the ball.
My 2 pennies worth (I have to think about these). 1. Just because you visualised where the ball will be doesn't mean you can stop looking at it, v easy to assume you are correct and then it's not where you expect (e.g. bounced different, wind caught it) and you don't see because you've already looked away. 2. Hard to move when you are swinging the racket, so the larger your swing the earlier you need to be in place and the more confident you need to be of your read on the ball. If you don't think you can judge it well (e.g. a heavy slice) then a smaller swing allows later movement so you can adjust even after the bounce.
Great lesson Karue. Visualization of the movement so critical. There's also a pre-visualization of the ball flight/path before the hit. maybe you can discuss this visualization in the future. Too many rec guys just going out there and hitting without shot intent and visualization.
For me your tips are so much more spot on than Patrick's Montorologihv lol. Great. I'm a teacher and I adopt your tatical style rather than tecnicist style
I have always put my attention only to swing path, tacke back and never really put much work on my footwork. And just today a coach get it on being stable and wide at contact. What a BIG difference it was. When my feet are in position, all seems much more easy and the ball is getting out fast and strong.
Great video, but I'd just like to note that your lefty strokes are cleaner and smoother than most people's regular strokes even when they're set up in the perfect position!
Most people probably visualize mostly on what their stroke will look like and neglect what their feet will look like getting to the ball. I guess it's natural b/c you can't really run in front of a mirror unless you have a really big house with a really big mirror. I'm guilty of this and will work on it. Thanks.
i think i speak for a lot of people when we would like to see you enter a futures tournament and see how it goes. even if it's just once, it would be cool to see how you do and your preparation.
Very helpful tips! I always run to close to the ball and then end up being to close for a good quality swing. The visualization might help to keep my distance and allowing to stretch my arm and push my body into the shot. Need to try it out, thanks!
Is there a drill or a trick to better judge the ball and the bounce? I see a lot of beginners have no idea how to judge the ball. Especially when different spins are coming at them and varying depth and speed.
Also curious about this. My method (just teaching the gf) is for the student to say "bounce-hit" to themselves as they track and hit the ball. Forces them to factor the pace, spin, and their relative distance. Other than that, it might just be intuition that's simply accumulated from playing.
Thank you for sharing your videos. They've helped my play tremendously. What brand of balls do you practice with. Some balls I've used seem to feel different and actually hurt my elbow. I'm a huge fan of Wilson US Opens ED but players rather play with whats being used at the club league level. Advise?
Great tips man, working on my footwork always few months in tennis training. . Not easy to get in ideal position every shot such as neutral stance for forehand, recommended for beginners, bigger hitting zone as my coach said. And closed stance 1 handed backhand. But i try my best always & do the split step too ✊️
Hey man, I have been playing tennis since I was around 6 ish in sweden and I just got back into the game as a 26 year old and after a 2-3 year break. I meet some really good tennis college players sometimes with a really, really heavy kick serve / pancake serve / inside out serve and I just can't seem to deal with it very well. I would really like a video from you on how to approach these and time these better!
Hi Guys, Where is the course that is talked about in this video. I am unable to find it on here, in the link or on your website. Do you have an overview of any courses you do sell at this moment, I think both me and other people would be intereseted in that. Thank you. Best, Wes
Karue, you big show off: hitting with the left hand. Very funny. My very first instructor did emphasize on footwork so I think I'm ok. My problem is when the ball coming straight at me and I get jammed, don't know moving left or right = missing the shot. I am bad at meeting the ball in-range and correct arm length as well. You always hit it with a straight arm + on the sweet spot. I tried to practice the 'head still' like Federer but still miss the sweet spot. I guess I have to stay at the wall for a while. Any ideas how to fix it? Thanks.
Hi Karue, I need support on the perfekt power/spin string for Yonex Ezone Tour 22. I like your videos but strings has also a "big" impact on the game. Could you do a video with some preferences? Playing Solinco Tour Bite today.
Someone said to me don’t look at the ball but visualize a box the size of your strike zone comes to you and you need to get infront to stop it then you will have a clean contact 90% of the time
Please answer me. How can you predict where the ball will bounce to take the right position? It's tooo hard for me :((( you didn't mention the solution. Thanks.
for beginners a big part of moving is also learning how to read spin, judge depth and height. i always forget how this is not a natural thing for a lot of beginners...
I thought I was going crazy when I looked away from the screen I saw that you were going lefty and I was confident that you were a righty but you kept switching 🤣
I remember Roger Federer saying that the worlds best players are the worlds best movers (footwork) not neccessarily the fastest movers i.e. smooth and efficient footwork.
Isto é exatamente o meu problema, a somar aos 50 anos. Estar no sitio certo no tempo certo para bater apoiado e com o swing sincronizado para bater á frente do corpo e empurrar a bola. A curva de aprendizagem no ténis é longa....
This is a must view for anyone at all levels. Often get so caught up in perfect swing technique, but if you cant "get there" to the ideal spot, you're already at a disadvantage. Thanks Karue!

I can tell karue is a modest guy and i really appreciate that from him. Just very pleasant to listen him to
Silhouette moving in slow-motion over frozen "initial position" is great!
Please more of that.
I think this is literally the *MOST* important detail about learning tennis. People get hung up on how to put more spin on their strokes, or getting more power, or increasing the accuracy of their serve. But if you never master footwork, you'll always suck even if your form is near-perfect.
Indeed especially on the backhand and ESPECIALLY the one-hander.

Your left handed play is great!
I seen that!

I know! I need to work on that. We have a whole video about using the opposite arm correctly and I still mess it up hahah tennis is hard!

@@KaruesellHQ Link please? Thank you for this and all that you do!
Starting doing this and it has bought me so much time, slowing everything down. Much better thought process. Thanks.
Let’s go!
Great video about developing a consistent swing on your groundstrokeds

Your videos are superb Karue.Amazing tips
Best tennis channel ever
Thank you 🙏 for teaching I’m new to learning tennis 🎾

Best tennis channel out there no doubt!!
The collaboration will happen soon enough!!

Thank you. Great footwork tips.
As a lefty, thank you! Another useful video

What's up Karue...great lesson!
Great video Karue , nobody speaks about that, very going idea
thank you!
Best lesson ever
Excellent, thank you!
Great video, but I'd just like to note that your lefty strokes are cleaner and smoother than most people's regular strokes even when they're set up in the perfect position!
Hahah it works because I have perfect spacing. Otherwise it would be a shit show hahah
Great tips! Thank you!
good footwork and use the right hand :)

Yep! Like I mention in the video, try to stay away from the bounce of the ball so the ball can get to your strike zone
Hey Karue, I'm at the WTA 1000 in Guadalajara and they use the song you use in your My Tennis HQ intro all the time, is it coincidence??? ✌️
Is there a drill or a trick to better judge the ball and the bounce? I see a lot of beginners have no idea how to judge the ball. Especially when different spins are coming at them and varying depth and speed.

great breakdown. good tips
wish i could find someone like you as my coach

I usually slice those for my return.
You are hitting left handed and it’s impressive my dude.

I love that guy who is feeding you. He is always like: "damn i should have done that homework. now i have to feed for the video again." :-D
Karue, you big show off: hitting with the left hand. Very funny.
My very first instructor did emphasize on footwork so I think I'm ok. My problem is when the ball coming straight at me and I get jammed, don't know moving left or right = missing the shot. Hi Karue, I need support on the perfekt power/spin string for Yonex Ezone Tour 22. I like your videos but strings has also a "big" impact on the game. Could you do a video with some preferences? Playing Solinco Tour Bite today.
Why do you hit forehands with both left and right hands? Just curious.
Great video
Karue is amphibious 🐸 Impressive
To visualize yourself at the right position you need to be able to predict correctly where the ball is going to bounce
amazing great!!
Dude, is this the Del Potro forehand you were talking about once. 😆
What courts are these?
dang dad pretty good with that left arm.
Karue's lefty forehand a few minutes after learning it is already better than mine, lol
Someone said to me don’t look at the ball but visualize a box the size of your strike zone comes to you and you need to get infront to stop it then you will have a clean contact 90% of the time

Planning on making a long video about that! Stay tuned
I thought I was going crazy when I looked away from the screen I saw that you were going lefty and I was confident that you were a righty but you kept switching 🤣
Amazing court views - where is this?
Southbay tennis center in Torrance, CA
hi, do you use L3 or L2 on the Vcore?
Karue is left-hander or right-hander?
such a low-key flex to play lefthanded in the intro
I tell my boy right place right shot
I remember Roger Federer saying that the worlds best players are the worlds best movers (footwork) not neccessarily the fastest movers i.e. smooth and efficient footwork.

Federer waktu kecil lg latihan yaaa
Are you done with the tecnifibre?
nope. I just play with whatever is available and strung that day
His left weak forehand is much better than mine :)
Rumors are a new Yonex vcore coming out in December
Excited to see it!
Yonex making new sticks every month now?
Karue playing left-handed is 100000 times better than me at my best, after 20 years of tennis... 😅
I’m quitting tennis. My dominant arm groundstrokes after 10 years are worse than Karue’s left handed ones. This is not fair!
Either these issues are more common or Karue be living in my head when making these vids.
Hahah very common issues with most amateurs. Most of our videos are inspired by common issues I see all around
Where's the link to your footwork course?
I'll play you left handed for your blacked out frame! 🙂
I can help you, keep that offhand up as you're hitting your forehand. You'll get there.
Gustavo is taking away all of the attention haha.
And backswing need to be a bit longer/ shorter depending on speed as well. Jmho what i do automatic
What is this "FOOTWORK?". Ive never heard of it and ive been playing for years
Were u using your left hand to play at the start ? 😂
Lefty?
"I hit every shot twice" - John McEnroe
And Karue’s next trick will be the left handed one handed backhand!
Thats' just rude.... playing lefty better than 90% of natural righties... forshame hahahahahha
love your still rockin the V-Core 95 :-)
Yeah I'm not in great shape so my feet get stuck a lot. LOL
is this guy left and right handed???
haha no just right handed but can sorta play lefty
like
First!
Casually hitting lefty eh? haha
That Karue backhand 😋💦
