Saddest part about this, is that Subaru will never come back, I've never seen an Isekai evokes this feeling regarding protagonist's past life

Heck, I would be even happier if Emilia wins the election, parents are teleported to this world, so then Subaru can literally make it so they’re treated as royalty

A: They’re enduring the disappearance of their eldest son somehow or other. The police investigation has no leads, and Kenichi is trying to comfort Naoko but it’s not that effective. They’re passing each day tearfully.
This is a heartbreaking conformation that Subaru’s disappearance hurt his family more than he can even imagine.
The scene with Subaru’s mother saying “Take Care” can be interpreted differently as well. In Japanese culture this saying would translate to Subaru’s mom saying “Please comeback safely” and Subaru should have said “I’ll go and I’ll comeback”. But when the last time Subaru saw his mother. He didn’t replied back to her. Subaru’s mom could have interpreted this as when Subaru was leaving home, he did not had any intention of coming back. There is a high chance that Subaru’s mom thinks that Subaru took his own life.

if you rewatch the first few minutes of the first episode of rezero you can see subaru's eyes were originally empty and when he realized he was summoned to another world his eyes became full of life.
Subaru realizing he was not special as he grew older and the line "We had you because we want to do something for you" is just... it hits closest to home...
That is my favorite episode, if I not cry it will be a victory to me 😂

This is something I always thought about every time I watched isekai, only Konosuba tackles this question where kazu's parents laugh at his death 💀😂
It is crazy how just one day you exit the convenience store rubbing your eyes and suddenly in another world, one filled with pain and regrets.
Unable to say goodbye to people you knew.
There Will always be an episode that Will make you emotional no matter how many Times you watch it
I actually think it is a bit weird that Subaru said meat shield, its a call back to when Puck called him a meat shield in episode 1. But its also really self deprecating and shows Subarus mindset
Emila built snow statues with villagers in roswaal mansion gardens (in the ova), thats why she knows more about them & their families. The ova memory snow is tied to the movie frozen bonds, happens just after roswaal saves subaru from dogs in timeline, explains about the magic system of the world & expands the relationships between the characters.
Subaru also passed out as many times as Emilia lol. Emila when entering barrier then Subaru for tea party, then both when taking trial.
Ep4 is one of my most fav episodes of anime, and especially for featuring family of the protagonist. Episode hits so hard on a deep level for me, with the line "we didn't have you so you could do something for us, we had you so we could do something for you". Of my top 3 episodes of re0, this is the first. 2nd & 3rd is far off for now.
i feel like i need to clear something up!! emilia passed out the first time because she went through the barrier, anyone with mixed blood will pass out if they enter it, or feel dizzy and sleepy when they’re near it. Emilia passed out the second time because the trial, like you said, is a mental trial! it takes place in echidna’s dream world thing. so for it to be in effect, the challenger has to pass out. Subaru passed out at the end too idk if u guys caught that or not
