- Finally, the journey to June 16th, 2017 and the release of the Ethereal (our gorgeous ambient delay and reverb pedal) is finally here!
To read more about it, you can visit this link: wamplerpedals....
How many times have you sat in front of your favorite ambient pedal and felt like you need weeks of training at NASA to use it? Knobs, switches, sliders…It’s often SO hard and frustrating to find a usable tone on those things quickly... Keeping that firmly in mind, when we first considered making an ambient pedal, ease of use was a top priority, right up there with top tier quality tone on par with pedals at twice the price.
So, how would I describe the Ethereal? Does ambient heaven cover it? Is it the gateway between real life and the astral plane? Or is it just gorgeous? It’s hard to know which phrase to use when talking about it, because they all match it perfectly… plus, of course, so easy to use you’ll be getting those perfectly Ethereal tones instantly.
When designing the Ethereal these were the EXACT thoughts running through my mind. I wanted to make a delay that is as pure as you could want, with a time of up to 1 second, a reverb that is thick and then have the option to mix them all up and put them together in one glorious effect that will send you away… all the way away while making it as easy to use and easy to find those perfect tones as possible.
Ultimately, our goal with the Ethereal is to provide stellar ambient tones for the players who love to transport their minds and tone to the stars, as well as a workhorse delay and reverb for the gigging musician to dial in quickly and intuitively. One of our main priorities was wanting to make it SIMPLE to use. You don't need a course at the local school to figure out the controls. It's there at the ready, with controls designed for flexibility in tweaking your delay and reverb tones to get anything from a washy wall of ambient bliss, or a quick lead delay with a touch of depth and several other things in between (including a few hidden gems you'll find as more demos come out in the following week).
With a clean delay up to 1 second (and as low as 20ms), and a cavernous Plate-style reverb, they're the perfect pairing together, or individually by adjusting the mix knobs to find the perfect balance. The subdivison switch allows a quick way to create interesting textures for rhythmic or washy tones, each depending on where the mix and delay knobs are set. A global Tone control will help set both to either dark and subtle and moody, or bright and percussive.
Thank you so much for your patience, and we sincerely hope you'll enjoy the Ethereal once it's on your board. :-) - Видеоклипы
Beautiful pedal. It's like falling into a trance with Angel's covering you with their wings
I got one of these today and I've barely scratched the surface but I already love it. The setting where it sounds like it's double tracking is amazing! Gets even thicker and weirder when you turn up the feedback.
This is my first non-budget pedal, and the quality is there in every way, not that I don't also love my Behringers etc. But this one is special. My callouses should be nice and leathery by the time the honeymoon period is over.
I bought this pedal today, purely on the strength of this video and other wampler pedals, mainly overdrive that I own... And man I am completely blown away with the tonal quality and build spec... Brian you are a true genius!!... Your craftsmenship is amazing... Thank you very much 👍
I have been using mine since the week the Ethereal was released. Still love it and still find new things to do with it. Great job Mr. Wampler.
This is the pedal I've been waiting for!!!!!
Please say you will be demoing this?! With a solo from Brian again :)
The EHX Canyon seems pretty cool, too... but neither do stereo.
I'm watching this because Rob said it was his favorite in a video and I feel like it might become mine as well.
The Wampler Ethereal sounds fantastic!!!Less is more…🔥👊🏻
Thanks Brian! I can't wait to try this pedal. Your the best!
Just brilliant. Thank you for making this!
Mr Wampler
love the simplicity and straight ahead functions of the pedal. like the tones.
But wait! There’s more!!!
Your excitement about this pedal comes through loud and clear. And why not? I don’t pretend to know every effects pedal made, but this sure seems like a very versatile pedal with a really innovative combination of features.
One of my favorite pedals and it almost always inspires a new song idea when I sit down with it.
Just added this to my worship pedalboard. Sounds awesome for ambient parts and swells.
Great pedal. Bought one two weeks ago and I haven’t made a chain without it since!
Another Wampler pedal I will have to buy. Brian your pedals are SO amazing.
You sold me! Very well-thought-out design!!
This video sold it to me completely, getting mine today!
This is literally the band “Hammock” in a box and I LOVE IT. ❤️
So true....I love Hammock btw👍🏽👍🏽
brian ya did it again good job!
After some research, I bought a Faux Tape Echo v2 over Memorial Day weekend and I've been looking for a reverb pedal since. After this demo, I've found it and much more. Another Wampler Grand Slam!
Great job Brian and team!
I love this thing, Great not only for electric, but for acoustic guitars too! I got mine and spent five hours with it before I knew what happened. This thing just keeps you playing. Adds a fullness to a single guitar that fills space for days. amazing pedal, might replace you pedal board for some gigs just by itself.
That random feedback delay is insanely atmospheric, sounds very inspiring!
Brilliant! 🔥😎
Sounds great Brian!!
Nice pedal. Reminds me a little of the EQD 'Dispatch Master' (which I own and love) only with extra features. Being loaded with delays and reverbs already this is not on my shopping list but I'm commenting mostly to thank Brian for his idiosyncratic videos.
Huge open place in the market now finally gets a good Wampler pedal. I've been using my Boss RV-3 Digital Reverb/Delay for years, and it was almost alone in the single stomp reverb and delay in one pedal market aside from the Earthquaker Dispatch Master. Very glad to see this product, and have this option.
Bryan, I love your videos and pedals since the beginning, you are a Genius. I am your # 1 Fan Josh !!! 👍👍😍😍😍😄😄😄🤗🤗🤗
Very good reverb and delay, received it yesterday. I really like what you have done with it.Congrats, hope it sells well.Jim
Finally the pedal that's gonna replace my always on pedal the Boss Rv-3 and put more quality in my tone!!! Thanks Brian ;)
Just got mine and I love it! A dreamscape generator. Playing my Rickenbacker 330 through my Vox AC4c1-12 with the Wampler Ethereal Ambient Delay and Reverb bends space-time. Stoned to the drone. SO easy to use and so many sounds. Thank you!!! Truly inspired and inspiring.
Love your pedals Brian. Can’t wait to try this one out.
Thanks for all the great work you do.
✌🏻
Damn it Brian, my wife would like to talk to you about some spending habits.
Nicely done - really liked the reverb only with high feedback setting.
I have the Plexi Drive, the deluxe tumnus pedal and now this pedal and I have to say that Wampler knocks it out of the park with every pedal you guys put out! Fantastic build quality Simplicity of use and the sound quality is otherworldly! Thanks again for your hard work Brian and for giving us the tools that we need to create the sound that's in our heads!
by far the coolest most useful pedal ive seen in a long long time. we at the midnitelitecompany desperately want to demo two of these units.
Just got one. I really 'delayed' on the purchase, but couldn't have hoped for anything more. So lovely! Nailed it once again Brain, U care n' it showz!
Man that intro was… Heavenly….
Brian, this sounds amazing. It reminds me of the incredible T.C 2290...except a lot simpler to use and not taking 2 rack spaces. You have really knocked one out of the park with this. Well done!
Great pedal, love your outtakes on this video. What I appreciate the most is you dispelling the “myths” of the magical properties of different components or pedals. I have worked with electronics for years, started life as a RADAR technician working on surface to air missile systems starting with tube driven servo amplifiers to digital clutter rejection circuitry (“radar receiver sliding windows” might be interesting to you) in fact sliding windows might be a good pedal name :). Not to say I know it all, more that I know enough that I know I don’t know anything, there is so much more to learn.
I think what I appreciate the most about you is the fact that you don’t slag on other pedals.
Wow, now that's delicious reverb in a box
Great sounding pedal! I like the simplicity of being able to quickly dial in a useable effect vs what I have to do with my Strymons.
This pedal is awesome well done can,t wait to order one
that's a whole lot of mileage out of one little box. Definitely exceeded expectations! wow...just..wow..!
Really tasteful! A simple, great sounding pedal
Getting one for Christmas... the sound at 16:55 with the Clarksdale with the gain up a bit is EXACTLY what I'm looking for!!! Can't wait to try it out on my rig.
Brian the ethereal sound awesome it's like the first of its kind and I want that thing
You’re the man, no doubt.. I don’t need another reverb or another delay, but I do need this! Go figure. Sounds awesome..
The last setting of Delay reminds me of the Tera Echo. Thank you for making this. 🎸
I foresee a strong demand for a plus version with tap-tempo :)
Yes.
YES PLEASE
Great sounding pedal but for my current application having no tap is a deal breaker.
This is really a different beast. Similar to EarthQuaker Devices' Dispatch Master, it there to add fullness and lushness, not a dedicated delay. Brian has the terrific Faux Tape Echo for tap. As I commented, I would rather see a version with a "Favorite" feature to switch between two settings.
Yeah, I'm afraid not having a tap tempo is a deal breaker for me too. I don't have Steve Gadd as a drummer! LOL
Very Happy with mine !!! Ethereal Rocks
Man i wish this stuff was around 15 years ago, i would have saved a lot of money and time. Great units tuned to sweet spots.
Dude!!! this is mad! got a pad just there with the guitar, sounds brilliant! keep it up
Just sum it up by saying this pedal is Brian Wampler's take on the Earthquaker Devices Dispatch Master. It's a new and improved Dispatch Master.
I also have the strymon Bluesky which I absolutely love although it was ridiculously priced. But stacking these two pedals together is just magical to say the least. Well done Brian and I look forward to more and more new pedals coming out from Wampler!
Finally :)
Brian just take my money. take it!
love this pedal, but I really need a tap tempo too.
Any chance of adding that feature for a V2?
thanks!
Hey Brian, does this pedal have analog dry through? Thanx!
Pedal sounds great!!
@RobertBaker did a review and it led me here. I Bought one from Sweetwater after seeing this. I love the demo for the clean sounds, but I am really going to use it for more instrumental lead with a heavy sound. Looking forward to doing a video and recording tracks with this pedal! Great job! 🤟😎🎸
Really want to get that pedal, sounds amazing!
Very good demo!
Brian, very well done....Sounds amazing!
Great run-through Brian :)
Wow, Brian that sounds damn good. I have been looking for a sound like this for years in an all in one box. I'll be saving up for this one.
I picked one of these up used and was admittedly a bit baffled about what was going on.
Now I get it and will go play with it with these explanations in mind.
I think this is the one for me! I had a TC eletronics flashback 2 and hated, the mash switch, tone prints and pre sets. I felt I was missing out on sound and build quality as well with all the features being part of the low price. I litterly just use delay and reverb for a slight texture in solo and rhythm and for slap back when playing country. This seem beautiful simple and well designed and thought out!
I bricked my flashback 2, lost power while updating
My favorite pedal so great for practice and just being creative.
Very nice. The Faux Spring Reverb was my first Wampler. Still love it, but I think this pedal is going to take it's place. The Faux Spring Reverb will end up on a shrine of pedals that changed my world. Ethereal is another great pedal. Thanks Brian!
thanks Brian. wonderful pedal and demo. brilliantly done sir.
so i have EQD afterneath which is a wonderful pedal, but i'm very impressed with this pedal as well and the ease of use with this one is very nice. i will be purchasing this one in the future, each pedal will have it's uses. it will be interesting to stack them and see what sounds i can make.
I finally bought one a used today. I am stoked for it
looks and sounds gorgeous Brian.
Brian, this is a terrific pedal. I picked this one up cheap on eBay, and put it on my church pedalboard right away. I'll get another for my general purpose board. Keep up the great work!
Well, when i wanted a new overdrive/distortion pedal, i got a Tumnus and could not be any happier with it. Seriously, I love the Tumnus! Now, im shopping for a delay and a reverb, and wouldn't you know that Wampler pedals has come out with a new two into one pedal that does things i didn't even know i wanted. Hopefully, GC still has it in stock by the time i get there.
I love your enthusiasm and I'm gonna buy it to fill the last spot on my pedalboard. 🕊
Keep making great pedals.
Pain in the rear to get wampler pedals where I live...but I will be going out of my way to get this one . ...incredible .
I watched this video after dinner and almost fell asleep from all the Ethereal-ness of this pedal.
Mine was just delivered...very stoked about this pedal.
I'd love to hear Bill Frisell play with one of these.
11:30 mark sold me on buying one. As soon as I can find one for sale! Beautiful tone.
Have you ever thought of adding an external TAP Tempo option to this pedal?, it would definitely make this a threat to every other delay pedal...
I agree, it would make it perfect, it's the only thing stopping me from buying it
BW, are the output jacks TRS by any chance, I think it would be a special touch for those with switching systems to be able to operate the two modes in different orders or to add some other effect in between. Thanks for all of your hard work. Can't wait to get my hands on one!
I'm pretty sure the delay is setup like a 2-head SpaceEcho. (a delay with "swing" and special feedback feeding back to both delays at the same time.. i think).
Love it! Keen to change my HOF and Repeater out for this. I just don't need a million options.
Wow,can't wait to hear Rabea play through it,...seems to be right up his alley.
Brian you're the Man!
Cheers,Flo
I just got 3 wampler pedals in the mail yesterday and I had never tried them before. They do kick ass and this guy makes quality guitar gear for sure!
I have the Ego Compressor, Hot Wired OD/Distortion, MXR Phase 95 and just bought the Ethereal. American Standard Telecaster into a Fender British Limited Edition Princeton amp. Haven't got to try the Ethereal yet, I'm a truck driver on the road. I'm sure the whole setup is gonna sound awesome. Love Wampler pedals.
Sounds and functions like the next step in evolution of a Dispatch Master, which is my 'if you only let me keep one delay pedal on my board...' go to.
Awesome pedal!!
Nice addition to my pedalboards
Thanks Jake! Dig your fashion sense. (awesome pedal)
Amazing pedal!!
I love this pedal
This is the cat's ass, exactly what I'm looking for. Even my lady who knows nothing about effects was in the kitchen listening and she said "sounds so pretty!" and I concur. Awesome pedal. Can't wait to buy this.
After listening to about 10 different videos on RUclips, (including this one! ) featuring this pedal, it's finally time to hear it for myself! Got one coming in the mail finally! Woo!
Absolutely awesome pedal!!! I couldn't get it to make me sound bad (and that's a feat :) It sounds great on heavily distorted rhythm, and it is the absolutely easiest way to get a really sweet ambient sound. Really, really great pedal!!!!! (oh, and I thought the lack of a tap tempo would be a problem, but it wasn't at all...)
wow!..How does Brent like it?
1 second, I assume it's all analog thus the lack of tap. Well done!
Any chance to have the I/O jacks on the sides?
Well done, you should be very proud of this pedal, it is quite an accomplishment and I will be ordering one! With a good amp overdrive, this could be Contemporary Christian Music in a single pedal!
Church player here. As you probably can guess, I use this kind of sound A LOT. This pedal sounds great. Will not replace my Strymon Trifecta (often called my Stry-fecta), but it's amazing what this one box can do to emulate that much processing. For someone who wants that sound without the depth of capability and options, this could be a great choice. Love all my Wampler pedals. Nicely done!
My one question: with the subdivisions and how they interact, why no tap tempo capability?
Good job Brian
Brian, I am a new customer to the Wampler brand and I must say your pedals kick some serious ass dude! I recently purchased your Ego Compressor, Thirty Something Overdrive, and Velvet Fuzz pedals (received yesterday in the mail). This week I will be ordering the Ethereal Delay/Reverb pedal too.
My question is this... I am also wanting a high quality Chorus and EQ. Are there any plans for Wampler to release either of these 2 pedals? If you do I'd buy those also because that's really the only 2 pedals I need that you don't make. Also what digital interface would you recommend to use with your gear so I can record to my PC?
Well they recently released an EQ, a few months ago :)
oohh this looks and sounds rather wonderful!! 👏🏻🎸
Brian, GREAT pedal I just got it for my own Christmas Present. Question, I know that delay pedals are best going through the effects loop, but was this in the loop or in front of the amp?
Sounds amazing, but what about tap tempo? Sincerely Perry
