The scene with the comic guy in the comic books was a scene about reusing art in dialogue panels, so it’s great that they managed to switch it over to the animated version.
Wow that’s clever. I know some will complain and say they’re making excuses. But it’s not jjk. Stuff like jjk makes final episode fight level animation each episode and people still complain that it’s too hype and overwhelming so can’t win.
That reminds me of a panel in chainsawman where the demon thing flicks a nail from outside the comic panel into it. The anime can’t do that too easy but they did it from first person like it came from our reality to the cartoon. Sadly people overlooked that and didn’t notice the cleaver idea and just jumped to calling the illustration better and the animation trash 😢
@@nichescenes Nice! Another thing that scene did that was more subtle is that in the comics the original artist & co-creator (Walker) eventually left the book, but he later came back for a short run. His style in general, but especially later, still draws strong opinions from fans and the shot in this where the comic writer is talking about how it can look entirely different was a clear reference Walker’s work in that later run of the series (the show is based almost entirely on the other artist’s, Ottley’s, style as he did the VAST majority of the series, but with hints of the original simple line approach).

@@yingyang7448 I see alot of people who think there is a simple answer to issues we literally have trouble resolving today. I guess since its a story and they expect a simple answer. Maybe if it wasn't a cartoon. People tend to feel live action=mature and let moral gray stories slide. I remember the crew was super kneejerk about what or how to handle the AOT issues when its obviously written so the answer isn't easy. That said tons online (at the time) did that so I might be missing something. I wouldnt say it's particular to one side or the other but I never really dived into the side politically people were on and if they "understood" AOT since to be fair its a story and people can interpret it anyway they want since its and opinion. I usually try to interpret it and align with what the creator intended and see if I agree and move on without saying since I don't agree then the entire thing is bad writing and trash etc. Like for example batman doesn't take out the joker, many remain on the side that its bad writing and trash. I just go ok the narrative and writer set it up that it's his conviction, he struggles with it plot wise, it's addressed, and even if I agree with batman here, say I didn't, I would just go ok but I get that's not the story their telling here and not dock it as a bad story. I find most criticism these days devolved into if I agree its good, if not its bad, vs old school critics on the narrative itself.
@@yingyang7448 I don't know. My point on confusion I have with AOT fans who hate it...they usually are from a side where in real life they would be horrified of their fan ending. I find people who say side with take all enemies out who did my ancestors wrong even when they weren't a part of it well they benefit from it today, so I'm justified, in AOT strange though, since in real life I can equate said people being ok with say, survivors of war crimes, being allowed to use the opportunity to retaliate 100 years later on you. US has done a lot to a lot of people (the S word, the Oppenhimer, the so on) Plenty have done stuff to the US, (the buildings) I don't wanna use the actual words and get bann...point is I just scratch my head when people say they want eye for an eye when in real life they defend saying its in the past get over it...or well I wasn't involved with that...when responded with well your society (aot people some) still benefits from the past socially while others have to climb up through harsh treatment due to the past event those living weren't apart of. For example.
not sure what your position is but i agree (as someone who considers themselves a leftist), media literacy is painfully lacking and idk how to approach it anymore. I love AOT so dearly and its my favorite story or work of fiction ever, it was handled masterfully and the ending is perfect for it IMO, the fact that it really illustrates that it will be complicated and at the end of the day, even when we're pathetic, we will always fight for better things, we will assign values and meanings to trivial things that have no "objective worth" and thats whats beautiful. AOT is literally the embodiment of the Indomitable Human Spirit, put to screen, with so many complex themes its impossible to do a summary in less than an essay, so it really hurts for me to see as people mischaracterize the story as a whole and its characters, and just shut their brains off and go "lol mid because this unrealistic and fanservicey ending that i wanted, which doesnt serve to actually conclude the thematic storytelling at all, didnt occur"... I guess people will just be like that, not much we can do except continue to enjoy the art, the media, the stories, and express our interpretations.@@yingyang7448
Reginald VelJohnson (Carl Winslow) is still alive. You might be thinking of James Avery from Fresh Prince. VelJohnson literally voices Dean Winslow. Kirkman was a big fan of old 80s and 90s sitcoms and named all of the trade paperback (collected issues of a comic book sold as one book) after those sitcoms.
I don't get why people don't agree to the viltrmite rule, it's not like the regular humans have a say in this world anyway, we are being ruled by something worse than viltrum even
What she says isn't wrong, its the fact that she's using human inequality to justify having the genocidal Viltrumites occupy Earth. If they truly cared about Earth's well-being, they would do disaster relief, share technological knowledge, and, if needed, remove oppressive tyrants from power. But they think nothing of civilian casualties and see the human population as slaves or insects to be crushed. As fucked up as human civilization is, the effects of a Viltrumite occupation would cause deaths in the millions.
I know that this might not be clear so I’ll explain. Viltrumites don’t have a power up or anything, they get stronger by pushing themselves. It’s how mark has gotten so strong already, he keeps pushing himself in fights and gets more powerful. Yeah he gets mad and that gives him a little boost but it’s basically that viltrumites have a berserker rage.
For real, and the worst part is that he would despise the Viltrumites if they were portrayed as the good guys. He just like the bad guys because they're bad.

I hate how people keep saying how great this episode handles Amber as opposed to the last season, without realizing that the shit with their relationship in this season is the exact same shit as the last season! People just acted like somehow Amber was mad at Mark for being a superhero in season 1, but she wasn't! She was mad at him for being a shitty boyfriend! They literally explained it verbatim in this very episode, Mark said it himself: "I thought telling her the truth would fix everything, but I'm still a shitty boyfriend. Now she just knows why." Of course Mark was in the right to be running off and saving people! But Amber matters too, and who are we to say that she should be content in a relationship with someone that doesn't have time for her? The problem Amber had with Mark was *never* the fact that he was saving people, even in season 1 when people hate on her so much. The problem was that he was *objectively* a shitty boyfriend who treated her like shit, and he expected her to just be completely okay with that once he told her why.
And I know a lot of people hate the fact that Amber already figured out Mark was Invincible at the college, as if that reframes her anger in a negative light, but it remains 100% consistent, and I would argue that she was still in the right. Her anger was *real,* but she was angry because he continued to lie to her even after she deliberately gave him *every* opportunity to come clean. And yes, even if he's saving lives, lying about where you go for weeks at a time to your girlfriend *is* a problem in a relationship, it baffles me that people hate Amber so much for this. He only came clean to her when she broke up with him! That's not a real sign of trust, and she was right to be upset, because for all she knows Mark *never* would have told her the truth if she hadn't forced his hand, and I'm inclined to believe that he wouldn't have! As far as the magnitude of the secret goes, of course we can understand why Mark wouldn't want to tell her. But it's absurd to completely remove Amber's agency from this situation and expect her to be okay with the most important person in her life not placing the same level of importance on her, and trivializing it as "just a high school relationship" is completely bullshit, because nobody that is actually *in* a high school relationship that they consider to be serious views it with the same frivolity, especially because in that very same episode they were literally making plans to go to college together!
@@npw2004 they hate amber because she said that mark abandoned her for dead at the campus when she knew the whole time that he just went and changed clothes behind a building. Also her saying "we both were lied to" like mark keeping a secret identity is somehow comparable to his dad lying to him for his whole life about being a warmongering psychopath, is weird. On top of her abrasive ass handling of his reveal people just add it up to her being a petty highschooler which is fine. Highschoolers can be like that. I didnt mind her much. And no, being a shitty boyfriend is being controlling or an asshole. Its not as simple as "oh youre not around? damn you suck." if he stays with her all the time, a LOT of people would die. Hes not making a choice to not be with her, saving people isnt a choice you get to make at least not in marks head. Also (spoiler) he can make a relationship work, like in the comics, just not with amber.
I love how everybody wants a relationship to fail, not succeed. It's a real commentary on the state of the world, I guess. Also I love how easy it is to spot the fascists when people don't notice a giant flaw with the propaganda: If they're so altruistic and have the tech, they could just share it. But no, every fascist goes "they're right, let's enslave everyone!". Absolutely not surprised that the second guy from the right agreed with Anissa, his views were obvious already from other reactions. Especially ironic coming from people with Indian heritage, as in those who were colonized by Britain and not Europeans who usually did the colonization. They civilized, fixed and improved indeed!
i mean this relationship is built on nothing and is going in a bad direction regardless of what they want. Also if youve read the comics, then you know hell be ok on that front.
He shouldn’t break up with her. It won’t change that fact that she will forever be targeted won’t change as long as Mark cares for her. She’s Louis Lane, better to have her close where you can protect her.
Allen is basically a saiyan without any of the energy power. He gets stronger everytime he heals from an injury. The more severe the injury the bigger the power boost when he heals. He grew so much after healing because he was basically dead and was brought back by that healing machine.
Glad they fixed Amber from the first season. In season 1 I could not stand Amber and was waiting for the inevitable break up but season 2 Amber, it was sad to see them part ways.
@JohnJohnson27-cs6ix No, she was pretty much unanimously hated in season 1. Season 2 the writers changed her to be more supportive and understanding, which she most definitely was not in season 1.

Can’t expect it every episode then complain that animators are overworked. Not like animation is super easy now just cause time past. There’s more techniques to speed it up but still gotta draw a lot.
@@nichescenes Bro what the hell are you talking about. You said plenty without actually saying anything.

Yeah. He won’t even say it to sway them and not die. His convictions and resolve are highest of all versions hence why he makes a change in his verse.
It was more likely a combination of things like his dad not telling him until the last second paired with how he was raised. Who knows how he was brought up in the other universes? I mean a 2-3 month long relationship IS nice but that probably wouldnt be what kept me from crossing that line.

Now she just knows why."
Of course Mark was in the right to be running off and saving people!
Also (spoiler)
he can make a relationship work, like in the comics, just not with amber.
If they shared the tech with us, the billionaires and leaders of the world would use it to exploit us even more
This is a really hot take. Wonder if Normies are going to reply.
i mean this relationship is built on nothing and is going in a bad direction regardless of what they want. Also if youve read the comics, then you know hell be ok on that front.

He shouldn’t break up with her. It won’t change that fact that she will forever be targeted won’t change as long as Mark cares for her. She’s Louis Lane, better to have her close where you can protect her.
Donalds Mind-Blowers!
