    People who say he didnt achieve enough in his career are idiots, Uniteds top ever scorer, Englands top ever scorer and technically amazing.... and this is from a Chelsea fan!

      The main issue is with England - definitely faded away when the important games came apart from when he burst onto the scene. I'm a big fan and think he's had way too much stick but there's a nagging feeling that if only he could have repeated what he did in those first games for England...what could have been :(

    Rooney is a legend but gets so much hate just because he's not as good before but in his prime he was something else, always so hungry and aggressive.

    • @toiletcomputer
      @toiletcomputer 6 лет назад +28

      Good points but just to add to the hate point some people were more just constantly frustrated with him because his first touch in tight areas was generally awful for such a great player.
      On the flip side there haven’t been many players who can strike a ball as well as him

    • @FD90202
      @FD90202 6 лет назад +17

      That's because the media made him to be better than he actually is. He's been on the decline since 26 when your peak years are supposed to be 25-28 after Cr7 and Tevez left he has been bang average scoring the odd wonder goal. Very good but never world class just in a world class squad until SAF left.

    • @teewhiz_
      @teewhiz_ 6 лет назад +88

      Beerus if he was average how did he break the man Utd goalscoring record and England Goalscoring record and also he took us all the way in the champions league to the semi final vs Bayern. He was world class and still is when his in the mood. The guy used to take on 8-10 players at a time and beat them all. And he proved he can still do it against Crystal palace in the final of the fa cup.

    • @teewhiz_
      @teewhiz_ 6 лет назад +52

      For me Rooney is not in decline he is just not bothered about his football anymore. He thinks about the team more than himself which is what I love but sometimes hate about him. If he took his football serious he could have been the greatest ever player to step on a pitch.

    • @teewhiz_
      @teewhiz_ 6 лет назад +52

      Beerus also if he was average since sir Alex left look at his stats in the David moyes era 19 goals and 13 assists with young,cleverly,Anderson,Fletcher etc. Wayne Rooney carried Man Utd even when Ronaldo was there He was the one doing the dirty work and picking out a pass for Ronaldo to score if he is average you obvs haven't got a footballing brain or don't watch football at all. Rooney is one of the greatest England and Man Utd have ever had.

Much like the whole Messi v Ronaldo debate, once those 2 retire it won't be a question of "who was better?" but more a general sense of overwhelming appreciation for fantastic players. I'm a Liverpool fan and I've only experienced the era of Fergie, and to me he's without a doubt the greatest ever. All 3 are managerial inspirations however.

    I’ve always thought Rooney had a lot more about him than people give him credit for. I think he’s just a bit shy and awkward. Few years on tv getting used to it and I could see him pretty good at it. Glad to hear his desire to go into management too! So many good British players don’t seem to bother..... and that’s coming from a Welsh Arsenal fan so no loyalty to the guy.

      @@JAY1892 Everton had a couple of year's in 1980's were they won things, apart from that in forty year's they won nothing , at the time united were winning lot's of trophies , this is why he went to united, to better himself as player , even though he loved Everton he couldn't stay at a club where is ambition could not be met , as a player he always showed passion , i am sure he would have stayed at Everton if they were any good , maybe loyalty was the wrong word , and maybe money came into play as well .

    Wayne Rooney is arguably the greatest Prem player of all time. Right behind Alan Shearer in goals and a lot of the time he took the backseat to Ronaldo and Van Persie when realistically he was very capable of going into business for himself successfully. What a team player for someone so talented.
