It baffles me that we still can't get a classic Iron Man with a yellow circle, the way he actually appeared in the Secret Wars comic, and the way his original Secret Wars toy was colored. At this point, I think Hasbro is just trolling us.
@@TheGreatDayne1983 they've made perfect versions of Black Panther, Black Widow, Kang, Red Skull, original costume Storm, and a few others. Basically, all B-list characters
Don't get me wrong I like the figure but I already have the same AI Iron Man figure but the only thing Hasbro should have done is to paint the unibeam yellow, However, I do like the new included gun and those skates, Overall, Awesome review.
Great video, I also like this Iron Man figure too. I've already got my set last week and I cut off my Iron Man head so I can install my G.I. Joe classified Sgt. Stalker head on it. This way he will make a perfect Jim Rhodes especially since he was part of the secret war team. I had to cut most of the neck off just to put Sgt. Stalker's head and neck on the Iron Man body. It's a good thing that I have extra Iron Man figures.
It's true that he was Rhodey under the Iron Man armor in Secret Wars. But they chose to put the face of Tony who was in another universe. By the same logic, I can say that spiderman's suit from this wave is not a symbiote, but the one, black cat made for him. At least Peter is the same person both ways.
It actually is the symbiote. Spidey's suit was shredded. He asked Reed how he repaired his costume and some of the other heroes' and was told there was a machine he used via his mind. Spidey just thought the suit was hi tech and thought activated. This was the first appearance of the symbiote.
@@jonathanhampshire6856 Yes, I know. I recently read the entire series, it's in Secret Wars #17. In fact, Hulk is the one who found the machine that rebuilt Thor's cloak and tells Spiderman about it. I wrote this to highlight Hasbro's mistake in putting Stark in secret wars. That's why I said it's more likely to be Parker in the Black Cat's cloth suit than Tony under the Iron Man mask. This means they either didn't know the story well or more likely made it like this because Tony Stark mostly used this outfit. However, whether we consider it to be Rhodey or Tony or the symbiote or the simple outfit they are visually almost the same and can be used in any collection.
They could have added the Rhodey head from the war machine deluxe set. Why blue uni beam?...hasbro you had one job...sigh😢 the skates are in the iron man comic where he fights his arch enemies in demon in the bottle series.
Rhodey didn't look like that in 1984. Hasbro clearly preferred to erase the heroic Rhodes from history in favor of drunk white Tony Stark. It's infuriating and wrong.
Annoyed at Hasbro's Rhodey erasure here. James Rhodes was in the armor during this era. It's one thing to not include a civilian Rhodey head. Would've been SUPER baller to include Stark AND Rhodey heads to increase play value. But having enough attention to detail to know to include roller skates, but putting Stark's face on the hologram shield was a choice.
Really don't know why you're so obsessed with pins vs pinless in your videos. IMO this fig is a downgrade in many ways including the lack of paint, lack of finish, ugly knees, and odd color choices for the unibeam and eyes. I would much rather have a pinned figure with a higher level of paint and finish than a pinless figure without those qualities.
The racist, revisionist history whitewashing of this figure is disgusting. It should have come with a comic-accurate 1984 James Rhodes unhelmeted head and the lenticular shield should show him, not Tony Stark.
The original Secret Wars Iron Man toy from 1984 had Tony Stark's face on the hologram shield. I respect Hasbro for being accurate there. I'm with you on the Rhodey head though, definitely a missed opportunity
Relax, not everything needs to be a soapbox or a teachable moment. This line is prioritizing the original toy line except for the two new characters that favor the comics, Titania and Beyonder. This line is also meant to be new collector friendly, and most newer fans are not aware that Rhodey was ever Iron Man, so labeling him as not being Tony could be confusing. Now, if you want to criticize Hasbro for not making one of the prior classic Iron Man releases Jim Rhoades, or not including the Rhodey headsculpt in the retro carded War Machine reissue, then I support you. I would have had way more interest in the AI Iron Man release if it had instead been Rhodey, and come with a new unmasked head sculpt.

They don’t want to make a perfect version because you won’t need to upgrade
@TheGreatDayne1983 but they've made perfect versions of other classic characters already. I don't think that's it.
@@benjaminwiseman6567
Which versions are perfect?
Most lack something. Pinned limbs, details missing, old articulation
It baffles me that it was Rhodey in the story not Tony and no one seems to care. Lol

Can confirm, the gun is definitely a callback to the Mattel line.

Bonus fan points for knowing Jimmy wasin the Red n Golds back then.😁
In the old comics flying drains the suit’s battery quickly so the skates let him move faster without running out of juice
- Tony we need to stop doctor doom
- nope, im rollerscating 🗿

I don't like how his chest reactor is blue, it should be whitish yellow
Seriously why is the unibeam still blue when it was yellow up until a few years ago?
Getting a little whip lash here, you say pins aren't a big deal on defence but now its a big upgrade...
Yes, the original figures came with the guns.
Kind of tired of Hasbro giving us the same figures all the time now they haven’t really done anything new lately

I saw where some people said that the red makes the figure look cheap. Was that your experience?

The shield is accurate to the original toy which had Tony on it. Blame Mattel.
They will re release them and the she hulk in blue
He only skated we he was low on power
Wave two predictions?
Same body as the Hologram Head right?
