    So that Egg Seperator. I actually use one in my day to day life. I'm a bartender by trade and on a night we will generally serve around 100-120 Whiskey/Amaretto/Yuzu sours at our bar, we take the whites and the kitchen takes the yolks to make a Hollandaise sauce with.
    Absolutely key bit of kit.

      There are industrial machines that do thousands of eggs a day. Ask me how i know! ^-^
      Where do you think the cartons of egg white/egg yolk come from? And it was a cool machine. You could watch that thing work for quite a while, just doing it's thing. Hypnotizing.

    • @TF_NowWithExtraCharacters
      @TF_NowWithExtraCharacters 3 месяца назад +4

      Out of curiosity, what's the finnicky level on cleaning that thing? If I'm baking I typically want whites for meringues, and if any yolk broke I'm going to have to wash it up before I can use it again

    • @CummyPancakes
      @CummyPancakes 3 месяца назад +8

      @@TF_NowWithExtraCharacters The one we had was fully industrial dishwasher safe. So cleaning at the end was easy.
      However if you broke a yolk you'd need to be quick as to not have it seperate out into the whites. It's happened to me a few times, usually if im rushing, only making the rush even worse. BUt doing 3 or 4 at a time is no trouble what so ever.
      And yes, i'd need to rinse it quickly before using again not fully dishwash it.

    Ben and Mike, in the US college dorm rooms do not have a cooking surface in the room of any kind and you will get in huge trouble for having one. Eve sometimes something such as a air fryer or a microwave. So that hot water device would be great. Also with the advent of those camping size batteries and solar panel kits, you could use that camping when your not allowed a fire due to drought conditions.

    • @mariagoespro

    2 things I can think of: 1) In the US you rarely see kettles in offices. Coffee makers? Yes. Kettles? Not so much. If your coffee maker doesn't dispense hot water, it's kinda accepted to just boil water in the microwave which means no temperature control. 2) Most camping kits come with solar powered generators that you can plug into. It's mostly used to charge phones/emergency contact devices, but if you have one you could use this to get some hot water at a controlled temperature

      I think health and safety laws would prevent the idea of patients preparing their own hot drinks because of the obvious risk of scalding and also spillage and subsequent falls risks. The other thing is when you’re sitting getting treatment, you’re stuck in position as you’re attached to monitors and machines that are plugged into the wall. Having had infusions myself which take hours, it’s a proper faff even going for a wee! I’d definitely recommend taking a flask, some of those little long-life milk sachets or another flask to keep fresh milk cool and set up shop next to your station. In many treatment areas like this, the hospital volunteers will go around with a trolley to keep patients going with a nice cup of tea - worth their weight in gold ❤

    The water heater is simple: I can guarantee that device was designed and produced in Asia with the Asian market in mind specifically because there are places on the continent with strong supply chains and access to power but no potable running water built into the local domestic infrastructure. Drinking water comes in bottles, full stop, and this is an easier way to heat it up for beverages rather than use a stove or microwave or whatever.

      Also I don't know about East Asia/South East Asia, but here in India, in cities where 'drinking water comes in bottles, full stop' they don't come in 1 or 2 L bottles. They come in 20 L bottles, on which we attach a dispenser. Inserting this pipe into the bottle would be more of a pain, because I would have to remove the dispenser - than dispensing some water into a kettle.

      @CrazySharp That's why I said if your not walking very far. Been camping plenty of times and brought a kettle. Small electric kettles exist for the exact purpose of camping and caravans and are at least half the price.

    Places/situations to use the 2nd item:
    (1) Dorm rooms
    (2) Your bedroom if you are sick and being isolated from the rest of the house
    (3) If it has a car outlet adapter it would be useful for road trips.

      Why wouldn't you just use a kettle in your dorm room or your bedroom? Or use a kettle in the kitchen, fill up a thermos? Only place I see any use is if space is at a premium and you want the option of a kettle without the normal bulk.

    I would imagine that the hot water dispenser, given that it has Chinese/Kanji on it, would be very nice for an apartment. I lived in Okinawa for 3 years and the apartments/studios there are SO small. Like small enough to where a full size kettle is literally too big for the kitchen.

    My grandmother had an egg separator. A little slotted holder that would do 1 egg at a time. That's all a home cook needs, and it's much smaller and less prone to problems than that slidem

    Surely with the tongs you’re meant to hold the sausage on the sides at one end and then “using the power of gravity” it swings down because of the rotating part and it flips! I think I got more irate than Ebbers watching that.

    The portable kettle would work for backpackers. They often have a power source of some kind for lights at camp sites, but often don't have potable water. So it would be good to be able to make hot water for a morning coffee on the trail. Some people even carry their own small solar batteries that could work, especially if it could be converted to a USB attachment!
    Could also be good for traveling in places that don't often have the cleanest water sources for drinking, like some parts of Mexico and South America.

    Egg separator looks fun. Useful for people who need to separate a lot of eggs often. And some people with disabilities.
    I use an empty water bottle. Break egg into a bowl, suck the yolk into the bottle, eject yolk into another bowl.
    I don't like getting raw egg on my hands. 😊

    For the compact electric kettle, one use case would be for RVs. Having just started with a travel trailer myself, two of the biggest issues you face in what you're going to put in your RV is weight and space. In this you have a mostly plastic kettle that folds up really compact, and I could see myself feeding that tube into the the Brita water dispenser I already own. I have power so that's not really an issue. Granted, my wife just got a Keurig for the trailer because it can do hot water and her coffee pods, but even the small ones take up quite a bit more space and I'd bet it's several times heavier than this.
    I think the only thing that really gets me is the cost. If this were down around $30, maybe, but up at $67... I mean, we spent less than that on the Keurig.
