Every person has at least 3 diffent voices. If you do a little of voice training, you know - depends on what you use to resonate you voice (abdome, nose or throat). It's why she said that her low-pitched voice uses a lot of her core strenght, it's her abdome voice. Her more high pitched is her nose voice. Her normal voice she uses on stream is her throat voice.

One way of changing your voice by playing with those 2 registers, mixing them together and using different resonance mechanisms. Like if you speak through your nose your voice will sound nasal. If you use your diaphragm you can get quite loud and powerful without screaming. And if you speak in your head voice you can go really high and light, especially if you're a soprano. Another way of changing your voice is by altering the shape and tension of your throat, position of your tongue etc. You can produce a lot of different voices, but not all of them are healthy. Some voices you could technically produce (namely the ones that hurt or feel uncomfortable) are actually damaging for your throat and vocal chords.

Basically, most any pitch and energy she uses on stream (excluding the near the end of her range, also shown in this clip), can basically be considered part of her "natural voice". (Duck ASMR noises excluded of course. That is not her naturally speaking. Or depending on your point of view, on an even higher level of natural)
I have a similar thing where my accent bounces all over the place. I don’t even really notice and it because my whole family does it. It’s all because when my family wants to say something in a certain tone for example sarcastic, to sound dumb or to make fun of someone we use different accents and it’s just so normalized I don’t think about it. When we’re saying something we know is dumb we put a southern twang to our voice, when making fun of someone we do a California Valley Girl accent, and if we’re sarcastic we use a Jersey accent. Things like that.

Yeah I think there's an inclination for Japanese Vtubers to go along with the fantasy of their ACTUAL voices being anywhere close to their "character's" voice. I get why it happens, nothing wrong with it. It's just a funny thing when the girls like Subaru or Suisei finally acknowledge that their real life voice is much lower. Works for me though, I'm 100% a fan of the deeper voiced girls.

Its cool that even Subaru's voice has dropped back to what is within her normal range. Like nowadays she's got such a deep voice in stream, which is really cool. I like her current voice rather than this version. Kinda like how Suichans voice nowadays is deeper than it was. I prefer the deeper voices imo, they sound more natural.
