Mr Gupta has analysed the political aspect of the "reforms" very well. However a very important aspect is also needs to be considered before economic changes are contemplated.
Let us play the role of the adversary while analysing this setuation. The fact is that the Panjab/Hariyana/West UP farmers observe that their counterparts in Central & Eastern UP, Bihar, etc earn in an year what they ( Panjab, Hariyana ) make in a month ! What they also see is that the Official Mandi system does not exists there and those farmers are forced to cell their produce, (wheet & rice) in the open market at prices below the MSP.
Why the prices fall ? Any college student of economics will tell you " because the supply is more than the demand or the need of immediate money, results in distress selling lowering the prices".
India, Europe and USA have been over producing food grains for over 3 decades.
While European and US farmers constitute 3% of the population, their governments subsidise them to keep them viable.
In India the people whose livlyhood depends on agricultural are 70% of our population .
Panjab/Hariyana farmers are subsidised by the Mandi system. If it goes they will be forced to sell at much lower market prices similar to Bihar and therefore their earning will be reduced to Bihar level !!
Before implementation of the reforms the government should have worked out how to make the agricultural activity an atractive/ viable means of livlyhood for farmers all over the country.

Sir, I believe that days when Agriculture was a paying occupation is no longer true. For Agriculture to thrive at our stage of development Govt support is needed. Food is a basic need of the people and Farmers are tied to the land. They are not mobile nor is their produce. Unlike the normal market where the producer goes to the market, the market must come close to the farmer. Farming in India is dependent on the high cost of seeds, fertilizers, power and water. The Min floor price must be assured and only the Govt can assure it. The Govt must run Institutions like Farmer Credit societies and Farmer Markets so that offtake of produce is taken up and released in the market. It is nobody's case that Inventories are kept for the reason of getting bargain prices from the Farmers and released in the consumer markets at abnormally high prices. The Govt can encourage our numerous charities and temple organizations as well as schools to set up langars or kitchens to feed the poor and the children of the poor on a regular basis so that food is consumed and not stocked up for only disaster relief.

My humble rebut to your points
    1. Even in farmers bill there is Hindu Muslim ?
2 . You are forgetting even in Akalidal there are farmer middle man that’s why Harsimrat badal resigned after the bill passed not during the progress which she was aware off.
    3. Congress even though they wanted to do the same as mentioned in their manifesto , they are against this now because they can’t accept the fact they are declining all over India and they want hurt India so they are joining hands with Cpm, ultra liberals. They are misleading information about the farm laws. Few weeks ago one of the spokesperson of Congress said 100s will protest in support of Punjab farmers from nasik, now they are gathered in Mumbai, how was he so sure off that ?
    4. AAP implemented 3 laws in November but they didn’t expect to become this big protest so they are backing off .
    5. Poor Punjabi’s are Dilwale they are misled by middleman emotionally making them protest.
    6. Yes you are right they are stronger as a community and they serve all. That’s why they made them protest in Punjab first, when all infrastructure ready to make them stay away from home for month they sent them to capital
    7. Thanks for acknowledging left influencing.. specially now the China wants to muzzle India’s growth it will go to any level to do that
    8. Yes none of the agencies raid will scare any in Punjab because every one knows how all of them are corrupt and owns how much of Punjab irrespective who they are
    9. Lakhs of farmers died till now its time to raise above 2 and 1/2 state and they cannot declare what the rest of the countries farmers deserve.
    10. It is not lack of understanding of ground levels, yes it’s definitely lack of understanding about the oppositions mental state and how far they will go against to the growth of farmers and the county.
    11. In China or Russia you can’t protest for 60 + days and ruin the local economy 1000s of Crores, you will not have the right to fight or freedom of speech you will be behind bars. May be dead by now!
    12. We have check our eyes or ears if we didn’t see or hear any protest of flag by Khalistani in USA ,UK , or India ... and other pictures!
