The control plan and the worker nodes are getting IP from DHCP. we don't have DHCP and i would like to configure static IP on the cluster nodes and control plane. Can you please confirm if that is possible and how can we do that ?
Awesome bro. Learned lots my man! Thank you
Glad to hear it!
Hello! good video. I follow your instructions but I loose the connection to the cluster. I have no logs in rancher. The VMs are out of sync : Configuring bootstrap node(s) k8s-controller: waiting for probes: calico
usually this happen when the memory of your server is collapsed, so you can try to check out is this the case
Great video! If you are interested in content suggestions, I would be interested in using Ingress/Load Balancing in Rancher.
Let spin that up and record a video for you.
Thank you! I would love to know how to allocate addresses for the included Nginx Load balancer so that I can move beyond node port. I suspect that there is a pretty good demand for “mid-level” Kubernetes content. Most of what is out there is on either the microk8s end…or is way too complicated.
Hello,
I am having 3 Ubuntu 22.04 servers
Purpose of installing RKE2 cluster
So I will install 1 master and 2 nodes, right?
How will Rancher be installed? on the master server?
I wonder if you have ever installed the rke2 ubuntu 22.04 cluster?
Help me
You can run Rancher anywhere that has access to those 3 servers. If you have Docker on your laptop or desktop, you'd be fine to install Rancher there and then deploy your RKE2 cluster to the 3 servers.
Can you show how to install metallb and use it with rancher/hello-world app?
I’ve never used metallb. Let me see what I can do.
Did you try Rancher desktop with metallb load balancer? Very difficult 😢 . Expose service
It's been a few years since I've used metalb and felt it was more difficult it needed to be (IMO). I generally use NSX ALB or HAPROXY in my labs.
2.8.2 my UI is so different, is there an updated version?
Yes, there is a newer version of Rancher. I've created a newer version of the Rancher video that shows the differences in the UI between the 2023 and 2024 videos.
why arent you using jammy 22 and using 20 instead?
In the past, I have had issues with Jammy in a Kubernetes environment. It’s something I should go back and try again.
