And scalpers. Go to a show. Half of the people selling just started in the last 4 years to make money. They don't give a shit about the hobby. It's the reason boxes are selling 30, 40, 50, 100 percent over msrp.

That's the same with anything this bro it's just supply and demand is the supply is low and the demand is high naturally the price of said product increases cause people are willing to pay it. If people didn't pay it then the scalpers wouldn't exist it's just how businesses work @@RobDaKid87

Any lawyers here? I heard a story (real????) A guy took a small batch of cards into a retail store. He asked if the dealer was interested and of course he was. Dealer asked him what he wanted for the cards and was told that he had heard that the dealer was fair and reputable. The dealer made the offer and the cards were sold. Later the dealer finds that a couple of the cards were doctored and like the Brady a couple were fake in holder. Dealer was told that since the seller never asked for a price that he was not representing them at a particular grade or "authentic" and as such it was a civil matter. Dealer was also told that it would be hard to prove in court that those were the exact same cards and not switched later (chain of custody type crap). Was told it would have been better to sign a receipt with psa numbers written down as well as photos and an attestation as to authenticity and grade. Wow if only the guy would have said I want xxx dollars then it was a game changer. Thoughts?

So first, going to prison doesn’t make you some type of lawyer/prosecutor so by saying shit like “also as someone that’s been to prison” doesn’t give you some all mighty outlook on it now. Each prosecutor will be different, but in this case it is (fraud) which is felony and they would 100% prosecute if they have enough evidence. You can’t tell me they do or don’t have enough to prosecute, because we watch the same damn video and know no more or less than what we saw. i get the hate to the scammer but lets not correlate wearing a mask for your own safety with = criminal. Downward slope with having an accessible space for people with disabilities. but yea wearing it wrong does increase your risk lmao

You can not prevent anyone from leaving. it's called false imprisonment. You need to have reasonable suspicion of having committed a crime. Anyone could walk out, and he can't do a thing. My cousin was there and he walked in and out twice wondering what was going on. He thought a huge sale was going down till someone told him what happened.

No one is allowed to leave? Good luck with the lawsuits if anyone takes the event coordinator to court.

For all the people saying this is unlawful imprisonment. You should hope you never get scammed like this, because then you will be wishing for them to close the door and find the scammer.

Repeating what I said elsewhere: You have to prove harm in someway shape or form as a result of the captivity… That’s why it’s not felony assault when you throw a cotton ball at somebody, or when a teacher locks kids in a room.

@AI_MEME_CORP no you don't. So I can hold a random person as long as I don't intend to harm them?! Lol buddy

@AI_MEME_CORP tell that to the guy who held an Amazon worker, by simply parking in front of her. There was grass around to move, so not even blocked in. He did it so she would wait on the cops. He was charged. He didn't intend harm. You better go tell him he was unlawfully arrested and go after that cops badge as clearly he don't understand the law as much as you do.

People being irresponsible with their inventory have a responsibility to themselves to improve their security.
They don't get to commit a larger crime because they're a victim of theft.
We live in a society with laws and liberties.
Your problem isn't my problem, you don't get to deprive me of my liberty because you're irresponsible at card shows.
Sorry if you're a victim of theft but your resource is the police. You can hire police to be in attendance at events like this, it's called paid duty. Major sporting events do this, time to start budgeting this into the events in my opinion.
