This is pure gold, seeing and hearing the thought process of a good trade set up critiqued by his mentor of what and what not to do is incredible. By far the best content on RUclips for trading. I wish I had a mentor like that.
Loved this one - great to see the discussion on the way the trade played out - especially liked the comment on where to add as the stock was coming back to resistance.has helped me a lot - thanks
Absolutely excellent.... a concise breakdown of a trade and looking at how to profit and add size at different ticks and price/volume movements.... Essential information
Great point, It’s not the stock, it’s the set up. I’ve traded the same set up multiple times. The tape does has to show momentum and size . Thank you for sharing this valuable video.
This was a great video guys. The review, explanations, planning everything. I liked Jeff's comment that its the set up rather than the stock. Thanks so much for sharing.
Yes, I've been waiting a long time for this one! 🥳 lately I have really started to see a lot with the tape around my levels after having it on screen and watching it all year, but there really aren't many experince based videos about it out there.
Tape reading is Huge and when you add tape with other 1000 things you need to know before you get into a trade, it gives you super edge at the very micro level as to when to pull the trigger. i think i'm very good scalper and tape helps me the most without question. i love it. i don't know how i would trade successfully without it.
Thanks for sharing. I notice as well when the stock go down fast it tends to go back up as fast. I have more success trading stocks go up and down instead of trending.
Not sure if the short float being 20% is something in your favor. The float of SAVA is 32 mil so that lack of supply can create some squeezes. Although, those can present some good entry opportunities it spikes into resistance
This for me was one of the best videos you guys put out there so far. My trading/thinking and personality is very similar to your traders. I also have this exact setup in my playbook. Because of that the trade review felt very personal, almost like I was there. Loved the casual professional conversation afterwards. Just great overall. Love the firm. Where do I apply? 😄
when he said you start to get a feel for the stock i couldnt agree more I traded AMD only for around 4 months and i had my finger on the pulse of that thing. i had in a 9wk period i had only one, small, red day. it felt amazing.
I invested in SAVA a few days ago. Starting phase 3 trials is massive and the allegations aren't relevant to the efficacy of the drug. If it passes phase 3 next year (over 50% chance), a fair target price is over 30 times what it is currently trading at. Great long term hold if you can stomach the risk.
@@storyofthestock5462 I'm a trader and an investor. I look for opportunties with high reward/risk ratios. Sometimes that means looking longer term, sometimes not.
great educational vid, thanks!! Just a question about the Ask and Bid comment at 21:53 how can the tape be "strong" when there are a ot of orders on the ask? and weak when there are more/larger orders on the bid? isnt it the other way around??
Great content! I have a question about the stop. Would you stop if the stock broke through 68.50 level or a higher level? or your plan was to cover if the stock shows strength near or above that level, with no predetermined "hard" stop?
How does one learn and educate themselves to be a trader before they can apply to a firm? I don't know anyone in real life who actually trades, how do most people get into it seriously?
@@bernardhudson7733 Hi Hudson...Can you help me. I have learnt through Brooks price action, my batting average has been 50 percent with P and L in green but often giving up my profits later in the month after having a consecutive green days but giving it back in few large red days and this hits me hard. I know i didn't follow the rules but it's more of a psychological thing that am working on . On review of my entries into a trade I relaized I have to set my trade based on hunch at infliction points ( based on price action) rather than confirmation of trade set up becoz confirmation of trade set ups is either too late to enter now or the profit is too less. Am I thinking right or am I Missing something?
He has been around! His focus has been on other things at the moment but we'll be sure to get some videos from him out there. We now have head of recruiting, Jeff, doing videos. He has worked directly under Steve so I'm sure you'll like the content from Jeff as well :)
Interesting comment that most people lost track of it. I did. How do you find these stocks that you've lost track of? or do you just always keep watching them ?
on our desk, we set alerts for great longs and great shorts before we leave a stock. then if the stock hits that price a pop up alert hits our screens and we are reminded of the opportunity. I hope that helps Jack.
Had to stop the video and catch myself .......brain is acclimatized to seeing Mike with his monotone voice as the intro. ...... Let me go watch it now......LOL SMB Tape vids have been instrumental in my learning TAPE READING. Thank You. Mike have we found ur replacement ? Great to meet you Jeff. Question: How many tapes can one SMB trader watch at the open?
There are a ton of invaluable resources at SMB Capital from which traders can learn. We are first a prop desk and traders are first focused on that. But we will try and share with the public some more of our traders and support principles at the firm, like Jeff. By the way, Jeff is the gatekeeper at the firm- head of recruiting. So his opinion of traders is much more important than mine.

Oil did go up. Producers went long the futures contract. Something you don’t see often. This was key

My next goal in life is to finish SMB DNA 🧬 training, get 3 months green 💚...

The trader is not looking, nor does he care for the outlook for the next 2 years

As a scalper, nothing is more important than reading the tape. It is the gatekeeper between heaven and hell.,

It just had greater/bigger volatility than normally.
