This radio is pretty unique in that the screen is on the front of the radio, no flip out monitor, no double DIN radio. There are really no better options with this screen layout.
Of course you could get a flip out monitor to fit into the same dash opening, with a much bigger screen, and all the same, maybe more options than this JVC.

It sounds as though you may have the “Dual Display” feature enabled. This feature allows you to display the rear view camera and another playback image (DVD video, JPEG, etc.) at the same time. You can access the “Dual Display” option in the “Settings” menu and set this feature to “Off”. HTH!--Crutchfield

Definitely, the actual control buttons that appear on the screen are activated by a proximity sensor, they come alive when your hand goes near the face of the radio. Pretty cool.

Hi tokayd,
This model does not have RDS, sorry.
Check out models by Dual, Jensen, and Kenwood. They are the only brands of DVD receivers that we carry with RDS.

It sure will. You'll need to use the iPod cable that came with your iPod if you just want audio, and you'll need the JVC KS-U30 USB Audio/Video iPod Cable (sold separately) to get video and battery charging from your video iPod.

It definitely can, in fact it can play all these discs: DVDs, DVD-Rs, DVD-RWs, CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, and MP3, WMA, and AAC files on CD

@rayt88 Some places in the world don't have these laws in place. So for those places, you just ground the wire that is meant to go to the handbrake.

Because the model was discontinued in 2011 it's unlikely you will find a new one from an authorized retailer. You may want to contact JVC Mobile directly to see if they know of any dealers that have remaining inventory: 800-252-5722

i believe i just saw a used in good condition one on ebay just a minute ago with about 17 hrs left on the auction. its at about $470 with 12 bidders. a site called tooldiscouter.com is selling it for about $582 new.
