Fascinating discussion, Dr Bredesen, thank you ever so much for hosting, and Professor and Julie contributing. It is really eye opening and very stimulating! Really appreciated!

I just connected Dr Bredesen with the diet and book. I discovered his book accidentally after trying my 93 year old mom on a keto diet. While simply trying to decrease her weight the low carb diet improved her fatigue, bladder control. She was diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment- multifocal dementia. Dent neurologic in WNY told me about the Bredesen diet.

I agree, my suspicion is Julie was already quite healthy and couldn’t have made a great deal of improvement!

According to the new research I've read it turns out various candida strains are able to pass the blood-brain barrier and are found in the brain in Parkinson's, dementia , Alzheimer's etc. Treating mice and people with myconizole has it been very helpful and promising. The whole mold, fungus aspect is already taken into consideration in the Bredesen protocol but finding Candida invasion of the brain is a new signicant finding,at least to us regular folks.
My husband was recently diagnosed with severe Auto- Brewery Syndrome a condition in which his gut manufacturers alcohol and causes him to be extremely drunk without having any alcohol at all. He is under treatment for it and we're hoping to see cognitive improvements because his cognition has definitely suffered significantly. It turns out this disorder alone is way under diagnosed and his stool test was very high in a variety of Candida funguses.

As an additional comment it could be that the light therapy is disabling or possibly even killing the brain fungus and that's what's causing a reaction.... Having had Lyme disease I know that when you kill Lyme you have severe reactions because of all the dead bacteria that flood the system and create a lot of pain and discomfort and require a period of detoxification by the body. I have no idea if the Candida are being disabled or killed by the therapy but they're certainly being affected .... Just a thought.

My take from the first 5 minutes: their 1000+ nm wavelength works 2x better than the more conventional 850 nm wavelength used in common devices.

I done red-light therapy at Sun Tan City in my area, the body shaper which is whole body red light. I done it 5 times and although I had less body aches it seems to have really effected my eyes in a bad way. It seems now when I try to sleep, it's not as dark anymore, kind of like the light was while I was in the light because it got very bright and my eyes are sensitive to light. My eyes got red and painful. I went to the eye dr and he said I have abnormal pressure behind my eyes along with small cataracts. I have to sleep with a warm towel over my eyes and try not to focus on the lightness I'm seeing. My dr says my liver enzymes are elevated 50 points over what they should be, ultrasound doesn't show anything other then fatty liver which I've had. It seems the light had threw something off in my mind or eyes. This has been going on for about 3 or 4 weeks now.

I am experimenting with near infrared and i Noted that the side effects happen when i forget to breath. I combine it with breath therapy. You can get more bloodflow in the brain but if there is nog enough oxigen that does not matter

What wave lengths are in INCANDESCENT LIGHTS?

  • @coffee_5647
    @coffee_5647 Год назад +4

With high dose thiamine therapy, most people really need to have a cofactors in their system, such as magnesium, other B vitamins, and so on. I wonder if that could also be important for light therapy, since both of these modalities act on the mitochondria.

    Just a curiosity...
At what wave length, do you actually receive heat.
Is it basically that once you STOP seeing the red, then you have a heat component.
Eg... I am using small heat lamps (150W), that have the faintest glow but the heat is significant. TIA

I found a separate site. But it doesn't have pricing info, so I am guessing it's pretty expensive. One question I keep having is how do we know what it does to the brain since they say that the only way to see dopamine function is autopsy?

The guest Marvin Berman is associated with the company Neuronic, which sells direct to consumers. They currently have 2 helmet models, costing $3,000 and $5,000.
The brand with more published research on its devices is Vielight, which also sells direct from its web site. Dr. Bredesen previously did a video with a Vielight founder. The Vielight devices range from $1,800 to $2,400.

I think combining the Drs protocol with vielight and adding in vestibular + cerebellum exercise’s pulls it all together. Has anyone tried adding in an oxygen concentrator, and 48 hr fasting.

A product from Neuronic, the company Dr. Berman is associated with, was used in a study showing benefit in Long Covid. The study is described in their press release on PRNewsWire, entitled “Light Therapy Treatment Demonstrates Success in Alleviating Long COVID Symptoms.” The home use model studied was the Neuradiant 1070, which costs almost $3,000. It was compared with a full-body bed by THOR, designed fir clinics and spas. Their site doesn’t list a price, but I think it may be in the $20,000 range.
The hats and helmets sold on Amazon mostly are described as helping hair loss. But I saw a few reviews saying they helped with cognition - I don’t recall seeing any mention of Long Covid. Of course, none of these PBM devices are FDA approved for any condition, so they are being sold as “wellness devices.” This limits the claims the manufacturers and vendors can make about health benefits. The products on Amazon are way cheaper, but I never saw any that mentioned studies of those specific devices. I appreciate the fact that they are available, but efficacy and safety remain to be proven.

I started red light therapy precisely because I’ve felt brain fog at age 67 but I’ve already had 3 different Covid episodes and no vaccine.
It’s too bad I don’t have access to the longer wavelengths for cognition.

So sorry, I've just had my first COVID infection- ugh. After three infections, you may want to consider adopting Dr. Bredesen's protocol for prevention. We have many post-COVIF folks doing the same with good results.

    • @seeingyouontube

@@juliegregory3832 I’d like to know more. I had two years of natural immunity after the first episode then got the variants with relatively milder symptoms. As a scientist myself, I refused the vaccine understanding natural immunity.
I try to live low carb mixed with fasting but it has been more difficult to stay on course during the winter season and or facing a new uncertain stage of my life.
After finding the channel I am looking forward to watching other episodes especially the RCTs.
When I first learned about the trials my mother was 93 and outside the age parameters. I kept her keto and saw significant improvements. I watched as she woke up from her 6-8 hours of daytime napping to a light 45 minutes! This was the greatest win. She passed last year at 96. Unfortunately I couldn’t keep her on the diet that improved her quality of life (personal reasons) but I considered it a miracle!
