Love the paint. I've only been using an airbrush since January and haven't gotten into tweaking colors by blending yet, so it was cool to watch you do it. Gave me an idea for the current build, so thanks.
I had 2 1964 Chevelle's. One was my first Car. Bought it in 1974 with 73000 miles on the odometer. It was gun metal blue. With blue interior, bench seats and automatic transmission. In 2004 bought second Chevelle it was a super sport. White with blue interior with bucket seats 283 v8 with a manual transmission. It also had around 70000 miles on it Paid a lot more for the SS. Unfortunately had to sell it when I got laid off. I would buy another one if I could afford it
It turned out great. I’m really enjoying your commentary, also. I would love to see you have a go at doing the ‘55 Chev from the movie “Sometimes They Come Back”. Very cool looking. Am looking forward to seeing more of your work.
what nostalgia! we had a Malibu for a family car. First car I was going to do an engine rebuild. Parts are probably still out in a field somewhere. Really like the color, and I might have left the hub black to let the redline have all the glory.
That looks totally evil. I love it. Nice one. I've got two - one painted in red auto primer, and another painted with Humbrol Metal coat 'Polished Steel' enamel. It dries with a matt finish, but if you wait until it's fully dry - I usually leave it a couple of days - then buff it up with a cotton bud, it resembles worn, polished steel. A tiny drop of Citadel 'Nuln Oil' on the engine block looks great, and gives it definition.
The car and paint are stellar. For the wheels, I might've done the edge of the rims OR the center caps, but not both. I hate the phrase, but love the concept of the "murdered out" look. Outstanding as ever, it's a beautiful car.
Ajax scrubbing powder and a toothbrush (damp) will remove the chrome very quickly. I use this method quite often building my custom 1:64th cars. The plastic beneath the chrome is almost always black, or rarely a light gray. By the way, that car came out looking great, I've thought about modding one myself, but I'm stuck on a Nova right now.
Lokks pretty damn good. Not keen on the grey, but that is just my opinion, at least the decals are gone :P wheels look sick they definitely make it pop. Great work, man!!!
Nice! soooo.... nice!. Also even tho you don’t like the gt40 it’s still a part of history so it would be cool if you could do something with it with some cool scale real rider wheels, bring er back rolling nice too
Not to mention the new GTs have a six-cylinder EcoBoost that's tearing up the competition Ferraris, Aston Martin's, Dodge Vipers, Chevrolet Etc..🏆💪 none-the-less awesome build my friend!
I hear Ya on the spouse thing. My husband doesn't get my interest in restoring/customizing little cars. I have a bunch coming in via eBay over the next week and I know He'll roll His eyes, lol
Just repainted my Muscle Bound again, first time was a wash, total mess. I used a rattle can this time and it came out quite well very little orange peel. Waiting for another car to come in so I can replace all the parts I wrecked during the firs attempt of a repaint and customization.
This looks amazing. Great paint on this car. The tires look good, but love the pipes on the side- how did they go on? Just glued?. Would love to see you what you can do to a GTO. My kid has so many Hot Wheels, which I tend to buy the muscle cars and the paint and wheels are all wrecked on them, so watching these videos is inspiring for me to try and restore some of my favourites. How much airbrush experience did you have getting into this? And is it rewarding as it looks? It looks like a great hobby, man.
Love the car, just not a fan of the engine sticking thru the hood. If it was just a cowl, maybe ok, but would love to have a casting of a smooth hood 64/65 chevelle. Work is excellent tho.
I think it came out pretty good but it will say in like what I probably would have rather seen was since it was a new car so you have to figure the body was in good shape it'd be done in Black with the same color red you put on the wheels down the side of the car well not the side but the side of the hood and roof a little bit like it was when you unpackaged it and I don't think like you are my sure but I don't think I like the red on the axles the hubs of the wheels but hey I'm not beating you up I think it would look came out pretty good
A hell of a big improvement !!!
Keith, PLEASE do more builds like this one. Fantastic looking and a huge improvement over the original casting.
Really like this type of redo.
Wow Killer Paint Job I Like The Stance Nailed It.
Awesome job love the grey and black look and really nice to see the old redline tires 👍👍😎
A clean and beautiful project! The red is perfect with the gunmetal in composition and amounts! Just great!
your prepping technique is the best! and the results can be seen awesome job!
It looks Awesome...
Yes you really nailed that clear coat. Excellent job.
Thank you for doing these videos..loved what you did with the 64 chevelle looked great ..keep up the great work ..thank you .
This car makes feel like I’m doing 100mph down the strip. Love it!!

Looks totally amazing. Love the red center cap on the tires.
It turned out great. I’m really enjoying your commentary, also. I would love to see you have a go at doing the ‘55 Chev from the movie “Sometimes They Come Back”. Very cool looking. Am looking forward to seeing more of your work.
Thanks! Yeah, that 55 is sweet, that and "2 lane backtop" would be cool
It came out Great, I want to see a customized 73 Gran Torino
Looks awesome, wasn't sure about the red on the tires at first but all put together, definitely the right call, sweet mod 👍
Thanks. Yeah, I was hoping it worked lol.
Great work! Only thing rims need some color!

That is brilliant mate.

I’d love to see a Gaslands custom build with that GT. I’m going to keep an eye out for that casting while I’m out shopping.
My '64! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Great looking custom. Happy customizing!
What a beautiful car! Love it.
Looks absolutely awesome! The redline rims set it off I think! The paint looks great!! Really slick! And I just love the entire car! Nice work!!
That is excellent, my favorite of yours.
All of your work is bad ass,👍
Killer build brotha.

The GT could be a good candidate for a Mad Max build
V.nice, well done.
Bad ass ! Have the same casting. Gonna try that color for my build.
Really awesome
Nice job 👍
Lokks pretty damn good. Not keen on the grey, but that is just my opinion, at least the decals are gone :P wheels look sick they definitely make it pop. Great work, man!!!
Nice the wheeles are cool
I think the red on the head of the rim looks a little weird. But I love the red going around the outside. Maybe accent with some red on the interior?
Yeah, I think I tend to agree with you. I liked it at first, but it doesn't have the vibe I was looking for
looks great !
Love it. That is car is one of my sons favorites right now.
Thirsty Yank Tank!
Love It, i can feel it Idle Rumbling an Shaking from the Bookshelf across the room?
Nice work👍👍
Wow, for me I would have added red somewhere in the interior, great job
Excellent video my friend..Fantastic looking car 😎👍👍
Thanks man! I appreciate it!
It came out nice. Personally I think the pipes would have looked better out the rear, just my preference. Great job!
Nice! soooo.... nice!. Also even tho you don’t like the gt40 it’s still a part of history so it would be cool if you could do something with it with some cool scale real rider wheels, bring er back rolling nice too

Bad ass!!! Wow!!! Great job
Yup! That wins! Goes right on the model train layout. And a police cruiser right behind it. Too loud of an exhaust citation.
Awesome

NICE!!!
Is using *mineral spirits* better than wiping the casting down with *acetone* or *isopropyl* for any reason?

👌👍👆
I think you could have added a little cut in the body for the side pipes to stick out of
Great work otherwise, greetings from Germany
I think you are correct. It would have looked better
Do you ever sell any of the finished projects
I want a real one
You suck! Hahaha that came out awesome. I love Chevelles too! I've owned a bunch in my 55 years. Favorite is the 66, followed by the 70
Lol. I love the 66/67 body styles!
@@OutlawSpeedShop2001 I'm just finishing up a custom on a 70. The windshield still looks crappy. Gonna post an update on my Instagram shortly.
