My relatives had several of these houses.
So proud they were a help to many people’s freedom

Excellent! Some 15 homes are known in New Brighton. The Historical Society just held a walking tour with period costumed speakers at several of the houses. They also purchased the Townsend home and are restoring it. Look for their tours every fall.

There is no way to know this exist..if u go through these areas as far as I know there r no historical sites marked...it cld be a very important tourist and historical destination but beaver pa which is in beaver Co is a very small predominantly white community who prefer remaining white...vanport, Bridgewater, new Brighton, beaver, I know all of these places and there is nothing that let's u know how important this area was to the railroad...it's a shame bc it's full of history.....I cld be wrong but I lived in that area 17 yrs and I nvr saw anything that mentioned the railroad
