When "monsters" is more kind than most humans
Humans are the real monsters.
The differences is that humans generally look cute or attractive , but they can be monstrous inside because they can get away with being awful inside out, monsters or folks that don't look great have no choice but to shine inside out.

My favorite genre is horrifying eldritch creatures of the deepest darkest nightmares that are actually extremely wholesome and nice.
Kinda like the Messengers, Brain of Mensis, or the Oedon Chapel Dweller in Bloodborne! They look scary, but they're actually nice and won't do you no harm!

Except that they're really terrifying. No offense but the monsters at Monsters Inc looked more cuddly dolls than monsters.
These monsters have the uncanny design that just makes them terrifying in a creepy way.
Which makes their wholesome attitude all the more stood out, fortunately. 😁

Sometimes I feel like it's still scary, like it's deciving you. But eventually you find out nothing happens.
Holy... I need more of these. The whole horror angle makes it seem ironically genuine. It doesn't come off as sappy or patronizing as a lot of feel-good reels.
The wisest was the one popping out the door telling us we can deal with what we can’t control any way we can giving us back control, what a sage.
So whenever I’m ‘scared’ the way I feel that feeling is as if said monster is chasing me but once it catches me it just hugs me. This encapsulates that feeling perfectly
despite the eerie and terrifying looks, they have very big hearts that are capable of caring for others, spreading positivity and love. These guys are the best.
I like to this as some sort of alternate reality where humans are just one of the many sapient species on earth, and these guys in particular are either really friendly, the person they’re talking to’s friend or just talkative in general lol

This reminds me of when I was little and petrified of the dark so I tried to imagine things like the cancer monsters from I Am Legend were actually friendly and just wanted to chat. It was a little easier than walking through the dark and "just not thinking about it"

Reminds me of when kids see these as their imaginary if not physically elusive friends. The second thing that it reminds me of is adults and teenagers who have to see these things in media, but they are bothered cause of how often they greet them. Still kinda feels as though it'd be hard to sleep unless you've known these creatures to be friendly all of your life.

after watching this and the other wholesome-horror compilations, the idea came to me of these disturbing-looking yet friendly creatures actually just being lost souls of deceased humans that give advice to the living. either cuz… they couldnt get that help when they themselves were alive and didnt want others to suffer like they did, or they wanted to make up for something they did when they were alive.
