I have a big problem with my Imco, maybe you can help me. If I start turn the light on no sparks come out. I use Zippo flint stones.

i bough a faulty imco that wouldnt spark. the flint wheel was too dirty so it wasnt gripping. I gave it a google clean with a toothbrush and now it sparks fine.

I have the same problem with a fake IMCO. The teeth of the wheel inside was not aggressive enough and it wasn't sparking.

it could be a problem with the wheel. but also check out the spring

Can the Ferro rod holder be adapted to use flint from Bic disposable lighters?

if it is around the same size (diameter) wise it should work no problem.

yes, but it is the same construction as the old one. also the Chinese bought the original machinery from IMCO a long ago, so now the only IMCO lighter on the market are those new one made on the original machinery, but from Stainless Steel.

@@sodatato well it's funny how to Chinese ones don't work anywhere near as well. I've got genuine ones and Chinese ones with the same cotton and the same wicks and the same fluid. The genuine ones light every time, the Chinese ones are very hidden miss.
