- That's it! One of the best Banger Racing weekenders of the year has come to an end! After 4 years the 3Litre team came back to Emmen with two teams to compete against all Dutch, Belgium and German teams. From start to finish every heat had its highlights. This video shows all the action from every heat on the Saturday and Sunday.
What is Banger Racing?
Banger racing is a tarmac, dirt, shale and chalk track type of motorsport event popular in countries such as the United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands. Old scrap vehicles are raced against one another, with the winner being the first to the checkered flag after a set number of laps. Contact to damage an opponent's car is permitted and encouraged within the formula, with cars progressively becoming more damaged throughout an event. Races are held at an oval or tri-oval circuits that are up to 1⁄4 mile (440 yd; 400 m) long; however, on certain occasions, races are held in a figure of eight configurations. Banger racing is often confused with stock car racing, although there are differences between the two, despite often racing at the same tracks. Banger racing is also often confused with Nascar.

How do they find these yank tanks? I had trouble locating these cars here in the U.S. for demolition derby, and that was over 20 years ago.

Haha thanks Sander! Ja lange broek is eigenlijk verplicht op middenterrein dus doen we maar netjes dan 🙈🙈
@@AutorodeoNederland ze zijn echt niet wijs met dat weer van vant weekend. Vond het langs de baan in eem korte broek al niet te doen. Laat staan opt middenterrein, zonder wind en in een lange broek. Respect dat jullie t uitgehouden hebbem
@@sanderhooijer8543 ze worden door de NAB verplicht. Eigenlijk mag een t shirt ook niet maar daar doen ze niet moeilijk over. Vond het vooral voor de rijders klote, zit je de hele tijd in die hete auto moet je daarna je overall dichthouden op het middenterrein. De reden vind ik ook zwak, dat zou zijn omdat er ineens brand zou kunnen uitbreken. Alsof die kans ineens weg is op het rennerskwartier.
@@AutorodeoNederland je kan wel zien dat dat soort regeltjes worden bedacht in een kantoortje. Ik zou dan juist met dit soort weekenden met dit soort temperaturen uitzondering maken. Aangezien dr int publiek al een paar mensen out gingen
@@sanderhooijer8543 ook mijn gedachte, voor de vrijwillegers etc is alles wel goed geregeld verder. Maar het is al zo lastig om een schaduwplekje te zoeken op het terrein dus iets coulanter met overalls etc zou dan kunnen vind ik. Volgens mij is er ook nog nooit wat fout gegaan dus snap het nut ook niet zo.
Volvos seem almost indestructible
Emmen hoort zeker bij de top 5 als het gaat om dit evenement.
