      K-mart on it!
It sets a bad precedent that you can talk all types of reckless when you have money - the rest of our society proves why it’s so wrong.
The family the saved all year for a ticket can’t (and likely wouldn’t) behave that way towards a player. The guy who got corporate tickets from work or has a ton of money to blow it on a date and wants to look tough talking wild to someone they wouldn’t dare say it to when they by themselves - it’s wrong to encourage this behavior.

On principle, I agree with K-Mart; disrespect isn’t cool and shouldn’t be tolerated. On the other hand, it’s just a slippery slope to enforce and something one person takes as disrespectful would barely register on another person’s radar. There’s no consistency, so unfortunately I side with Gil on this. Fans come, they say whatever (short of HATE speech, which IS definable), and that’s it. Not because I want players to be subjected to horrible things said to them, but just from a practical enforceable standpoint, it’s the only thing that makes sense to me.

You can always do something about it if you are willing to pay the consequences no matter what they may be. If intense smack talking is to overwhelming there are plenty of jobs where that type of talk is not tolerated on shift, but getting paid multi millions dollars and fans have pay hundreds of dollars to watch get amped over a game while making sure to tip toe around the players being sensitive while living in one of the very few countries where free speech is part of your identity lol nah let your fans settle it with words in the crowd. So there are two sides to it. But before we get there let's say this "disrespect" is subjective so we need to make sure when we say disrespect it really is what most would call disrespect and even then is it really over the line or are the players mad they are losing. But Kenyon is not right here but he is right while Gil is totally right. First, K-Mart said in society things are handled when people say things but that is not necessarily true because the reaction to the action is not without repercussions and this is where Gil is correct in saying you are supposed to be able top block that out. It is not easy but this comes with the job. I come from the hood and you cannot react to everything that someone says as that will get you hurt real bad or dead. Now K-Mart is right people should not say certain things but sending people to them because they said something or doing something to them is just as ignorant as now you put you and your family at risk for legal action. I hated when people talked about my mom in high school and I made it known but if a legitimate gangbanger said something about my mom and I fought him it is very likely I would have ended up dead or locked up. Like Gil said, and this is applicable to life, you have to train yourself to be more mentally strong because when people know what buttons to push they got you. I do not care how big and bad you think you are you still are weak if you are fast to reveal your weaknesses. Even in the streets you have to be like that.
