I am confused, u say you dont want any solder mask on the antenna, then you put a layer of solder mask on it. I dont understand how the solder masking is working on the ADS?
Hi Ahsan. At 8:04 I said that wherever the solder mask layer is, the PCB manufacturer will NOT put solder mask on that section. Because I did not want any solder mask on my antenna I covered the whole antenna with a layer of solder mask. Let me know if there is anymore confusion
@@ahsan_akz for me it was used to let the PCB manufacturer know where to not put Solder Mask. I could not tell you exactly what it's purpose is in ADS, I was just going off what my TA told me. You may want to Google it to find the exact answer you are looking for.
Thanks for sharing this. But when I try to input my patch antenna from HFSS to ADS, I can only have my substrate, The patch is missing. Do you know how to solve this problem?
@@kaifan976 I am facing a similar problem. After importing dxf file into ADS, only one layer is showing (instead of the three). Please explain what is your z for the top layer, substrate and ground plane.
@@chrisheadley808 At 2.20 after importing the dxf file you are getting three layers (base, substrate and the top layer). But in my case, I am getting only one layer. What could be the solution?

Maybe you’re not exporting all the layers? It’s been awhile since I’ve had to do that. Sorry I’m not much help
