You are so lucky that can go fishing in August... We have to wait until November the 1st for trout season in Patagonia...

3 month closed season here in Tassie. Patagonia is truly a dream destination for me, scenery and fishing looks unreal!

Thanks Richard glad you enjoyed it. I've never put enough time into sea runners, I really should this season since I live in the nw too

G’day mate, great video…. Heading out myself to my local lake very soon to try and score a couple of trout on lures? Will see how it goes. Thanks for inspiring me lol.

I googled Oregon lake. No result. There are Orion lakes?

I think I accidentally sent you on a wild goose chase there... There are no trout in Orion lakes either. This lake is in the north west about 45 minutes from Burnie.

Well done!. I'm visiting Tasmania in December for my son's wedding and a week of Trout fishing so great to follow your channel. What sort of wets are you using in front of your nymphs? I tie a lot of flies for many Kiwi fishermen and want to be prepared for the Tasi adventure. Kind Regards from NZ.

They’ll be looking up by December. Your favourite kiwi flies will all work in sz 12-18. Tassie fish and rivers are smaller, that’s about the only difference

I mainly use matukas or zulus as the wet, it seems to be important to have a flash of red on the wet. But it's true that come December, you might not use wets. Definitely pack nymphs, pheasant tail with a bit of flash to it works, generally bead head but if you're fishing shallow lake edges it's nice to have them unweighted. Otherwise dries, duns, small possum emergers, orange and black spinners, beetle patterns and of course standard generalist dries. Feel free to message me if you want any location advice!

Hey mate, about 45 minutes from Burnie. These tactics should work in any lake that has shallow margins though
