- A recording of taxi and takeoff from YYZ Toronto Pearson International Airport.
This was the longest taxi, over 35 minutes, I have seen in a long time. It appears we were originally taking off on runway 06L/24R and that was changed later to 05/23 which is on the other side of the airport grounds. Even the pushback from the gate took longer than normal.

An extremely long but interesting taxi! I have never had a departure like that from YYZ so it was interesting to see all of the structures that occupy the infield. It is like another good-sized airport with more passenger gates and lots of private jet activity and cargo. One day I would like to drive inside there. It seems to be a good vantage point for plane spotters.
The views of Toronto on take-off were stunning! Near the end of the video, you can see the town of Barrie on your right - about 10 minutes after take off. By car, it would take over an hour to get to Barrie via the 400!
Glad you enjoyed it. I have had some long taxi in Toronto before, but that one was really a tour around!
GIGANT AIRPORT
I once taxied for 45 minutes. It was the first and only time I ever visited Chicago's O'Hare airport. United Airlines even lost my luggage...only to bring it six hours later on a subsequent flight. Yeah...not the best experience.
You could have walked here faster! (I'm from Vancouver!). Nice take off, though ...
Maybe you were supposed to take off on 33R/15L and there was a change in plans?

The old joke is the captain decided to drive to Vancouver instead. it certainly was a tour, I have never been on the south taxiway before. We actually left the gate on time, but because of the tour departed 30 minutes late.
