They are the most powerful warriors among all Demon Slayers, as it is their very existence that literally sustains the entire organization. Rengoku's words "Set your heart ablaze" is really an inspiration not just for the anime but in real too.
If Kyojuro Rengoku got proper training from his father then he could survived against Akaza in Mugen Train Arc despite suffering from heavy injuries. Ah man its paining while thinking about Kyojuro Rengoku. But I'm glad that his death pushed our heroes to become more stronger and powerful.

no bro. Its a totally wrong assumption. Even 5 rengoku( full trained) is not enough for akaza.
Akaza is way powerful and his full power will be shown in the infinity castle arc.

Even giyu who was as stronger than rengoku while he was marked was facing heavy difficulties while just to land a strike on akaza proves the fact that akaza was just toying with rengoku in mugen train fight

Its because its the blood demon art of akaza which is unique.
You see the destructive death : Compass Needle is not an ordinary technique. In This technique ,akaza detect a person battle spirit ( strength,will and power) and will make akaza stronger with increasing strength
So even normal state gyomei( strongest hashira) can't easily hold akaza because compass needle will increase akaza's strength beyond gyomei 's strength.
To hold akaza a slayer need abilities rather than strength
The Abilities are Demon slayer mark, Transparent world vision , Sun breathing, red nichirin blade and constant state ( which is impossible to acheive all by a hashira ).
The only slayers who had those are yoriichi and tanjiro but when tanjiro ( with all this ) faced akaza he also get trashed by akaza which again prove that akaza is almost undefeated.
A normal hashira can even hold akaza for few secs also unless akaza was willing trying to decrease his strength.

my favorite is Muichiro but Rengoku was the man who knew he couldn't survive but still fought till his last breath to protect the weak that made him my second favorite - set your heart ablaze ❤🔥🔥
Shinjuro was not a bad person after he knew that sun breathing is most powerful he thought if rengoku will use flame breathing or other breathing he could get killed by demons and he did not wanted to loose his children
