yes it works very wel and takes nice pics even at low light settings, one of the most underrated features is the twilight mode, take 3 pics ultra fast and then combines all 3 for the best, really really god on low light and without flash, not full HD though, only 1440 x 1080p, not 1920 x 1080, still very very good though on a HD tv
yes it is a very good camera with excellent picture quality, not like a dslr though but good for every day usage, like family pics etc, easy to use and quite light weight too
also with the canon you get the RAW editing software included, nikon do not supply this nx2 software, you have to purchase it seperate, so this is yet another reason i believe the canon to shine more than the nikon
Hey..Just a question, you have both the 50D and HX-1? Btw, I have a point and shoot right now, I'm thinking of upgrading to something better. Do you think I should get the Sony HX-1 or a DSLR?
it is pretty good, from what i have printed out so far compared to the d90, not a lot of difference, unless you are into photography in a big way i think it is not noticable with certain pics, dpeth of field is where the d90 comes into effect over the sony, but for true colour reproduction the sony handles very very well, the twilight setting is awesome and the underrated feature of the sony, d90 couldn't keep up with such low light without flash, i dunno how sony does it, but d90 my fave of all
yeah man will do, there's a small parade and concert later today so i'll take some footage of that and upload a few minutes of it just to test, and i'll try to get the sweeping panorama mode going to
Aight. I'm actually considering either the Canon EOS 500D or the Sony a330. My bro says to go for the Sony as he is using a Sony DSLR too and we can swap lenses. Ever used tne Sony DSLRs before?
ye will do, let me know what you're thinking of the d5000 so far as i may still get this yet, but the screen isn't as sharp as the canon nor is the movie recording as good, and also canon has more pixels too
OK, thank you for the fast answer! I knew that this camera is awesome! I am so happy that you told me the same thing! Thanks and please upload some videos taken with this camera ;) Thanks!
i have played a little at home and it is a very good camera, picture quality seems real good, but i have not printed any yet which i will then give a picture review on youtube, and i will check out the HD video too and review too
@iPodTouchVideoSpot Thanks so much I'm new to the reviewing but I enjoy doing them as I love tech. If you want something smaller that has same features please check out the Sony hx5 great camera. I'll try n do a review when I get it. And thanks again means a lot
hey dude glad to have helped, although i now own a dslr as i want to get into photography a lot more than point n shoot, but this does take great pics for sure
I'm using Paint Shop Pro X2 Ultimate as it's a great program and low price. I also love the picture tube feature. If you have lots of money Photoshop CS4 Extended.
i loved the d90 best camera i have ever used, the bokeh on it is awesome which i mainly wanted the camera for however this could not justify me keeping a £750 camera, the HX1 will do ther job, not as good, nowehere near as good, but all the same it will give pretty decent depth of field shots with a little patience setting it up, but you can use the custom button to use specific settings, so not that bad really
@PSVpyromaan hey dude soz for the later response i only got rid as i decided to go for a dslr camera with more functionality and manual settings to use, this camera is a very good one, now i am also going to get the sony hx5 compact camera as a back up
I'm thinking of going for the HX1, I'm not a professional photographer, not even a semi-professional for that matter of fact, but would love extra zoom and HD video recording, would you suggest the HX1? The sweep panorama and 10fps burst is also +1 for me.
@spearmintmonkey I still have the Sony HX1 and now the new HX100v along with the Nikon D7000 and Nikon D5100. I just love these small Sont cybper shot cameras. How U doing over there mate?
not yet, still debating over the canon 500d, or the nikon d5000, cant afford another d90 yet but i will get it again soon, i sold my hx1 on ebay and lost just £10
you'll have to let me know your name, mine is andy....right after much deliberation and reviewing i can see me swaying towards the canon 50d, for me the features and the look and software it's a winner, i have had several nikon dslr's now and it's time for a canon, i like the looks of the 50d, new menu layout looks sweet, few extras not on d90 but i think the software is a biggy in my book, RAW editing software too, more costly i know but i cant afford the d300s, YET....lol
The D5000 takes just as good of pictures as the D90. Just make sure you don't get one of the recalled ones. Serial # 3114394 and above to be safe. The Canon 500D looks like a sweet camera also but I have not been able to see or use one in person. Good Luck.
one thing i forgot to mention is the sweeping function, very very good apart from i have yet to print off a picture using this but will soon and hopefully attach it on youtube somewhere, i will also upload v.soon on the HD quality
although saying that, d300s has over d300...dual memory card slots, sd and cf....dust and shower proof body....magnesium alloy body...and 7fps, very very nice, but very expensive too, over in uk around £1400 for body alone, if you got other nikon lenses not so bad then, but i agree a beauty
well i'm coming pretty close to the nikon d90 so fingers crossed eh? well i just bought a new sony vaio powerful laptop but am now selling it,lol nowhere near as fast as my hp laptop, so should make some profit on that and then towards the d90, but if i buy that again i won't be able to do another unboxing, lol not on the same bloody camera, i'm also thinking about the macbook too, fancy a change from windows
Nikon has the new D300S coming out soon. I'm not sure what the difference is. I'm holding my D90 and my little peashooter the Sony HX1 for now. Maybe a D300 after I get a new Macbook Pro. Man. I could use to hit the Lottery.
@channeljemal hi mate no i am not using this camera anymore, to be honest i sold it pretty much immediately afterwards as i believed i was ready for a dslr, thanks for the comment
How is this going from the Nikon D90? I had the D5000 and took it back and now have had the D90 for a few months. I like the D90 but I'm also looking for a camera like the Sony HX1 for simplicity.
Are you sorry you got rid of the D90? I have the D90 and I'm thinking about purchasing the Sony HX1. Something about the D90 just does not thrill me either.
You are right. Get the Canon and do an unboxing. You will sell it within a couple of weeks anyhow and be on the hunt for something else. LOL ! I heard Nikon was coming out with the D9000 to replace the D90.
i also just sold my sony dsc-hx1...i had to get my dslr camera back i like an idiot got rid of my slr for some reason i dont know why it was the stupidest decision ever but i am getting my new slr tomorrow...the sony is a very nice camera but just like you said it does not even come close to an slr
i think from what i've seen so far the S is just a HD video add on like the d90, as the d300 doesn't have that HD movie recording, maybe one or two other features too, not sure on that one.. eh, never mind not winning the lottery you don't seem to do that bad at the moment,lol... d300 deffo a no-no for me, not worth the extra cash, d90 had more features than i wanted but now i feel more confident in using them as i have gained a fair bit more experience, i'm counting down the days
@muwaho0 hi, it was a good camera and i took some loverly shots and videos with it, but i decided to go for another dslr as i used to own one and they are wayyy better than this camera, but for the average family say it's a cracking camera bit bulky though, there is another sony dsc-hx5v that's very nice, small and compact enough to take anywhere so that you don't have to lug the dslr around all day, and as a bonus it takes cracking pics and has a gps built in, peace out mich xx
Hey, im more into video recording and im looking for a camera that takes both still images n video. so u think the HX1 is a good camera for video recording? i know when it comes to still images, an SLR would be most recommended but im more into video recording. please can you help me out atyl1972
hey there, i'm about to buy the canon 500d, or the t1i where you're from, i tested it and it took very very good pics, so this will be my temporary camera, then the nikon d300 or 700 i think, maybe the canon 50d but i like nikons really
your ideas helped me thanks, i did my homework, sony gives mim. memory you will want to buy more memory,$80.00 more, also insurance, more money. but i want one, thanks to your video.
i'm not sure the nikon has enough for me to choose it over the canon, 3in screen with 920,000 res, better hd recording at 30fps and it will also record for 30 mins, unlike the nikon which is 5, and as far as i have seen the sound is really bad with nikon d5000 compared with the canon, still unsure though, may save for the d90,lol....again
after thoroughly reviewing the d300 there's no major difference than that of the d90, not enough i din't think to sway me towards shelling out a good few hundred pounds more, d90 it is, or canon 50d,lol
come on you know me by now, literally now am lookin at the nikon d300 or the canon 50d instead of d90, body only good price for the 50d, cheaper than the d90, however i will have to get a lens, so was thinking of the nifty fifty to start
yes it works very wel and takes nice pics even at low light settings, one of the most underrated features is the twilight mode, take 3 pics ultra fast and then combines all 3 for the best, really really god on low light and without flash, not full HD though, only 1440 x 1080p, not 1920 x 1080, still very very good though on a HD tv
yes it is a very good camera with excellent picture quality, not like a dslr though but good for every day usage, like family pics etc, easy to use and quite light weight too
I am buying this camera as soon as possible!
I should first end school and then I am buying it definitely!
It's awesome!
5 stars from me!
also with the canon you get the RAW editing software included, nikon do not supply this nx2 software, you have to purchase it seperate, so this is yet another reason i believe the canon to shine more than the nikon
You can't go wrong with the D90.
It's a great camera but that D300S sure looks tasty.
Hey..Just a question, you have both the 50D and HX-1? Btw, I have a point and shoot right now, I'm thinking of upgrading to something better. Do you think I should get the Sony HX-1 or a DSLR?

no this does not have manual focus only dslr cameras have that function with the lenses attached, and it is a good camera
Thanks, Man.
I'm going to have to order one of these Sony's up.
Been thinking about it for a while.
Just unboxed the Sony HX1 yesterday with no video. Can always look this one. :)
nice one, when you do another unboxing can you talk through it and explain what you're doing, i love unboxing vids, especially about tech stuff
Aight. I'm actually considering either the Canon EOS 500D or the Sony a330. My bro says to go for the Sony as he is using a Sony DSLR too and we can swap lenses. Ever used tne Sony DSLRs before?
Good, let's get that Nikon D300 unboxing up.
I'll be looking for it shortly.
yep thanks dude, hope you liked the vid
@muwaho0 no this is not a dslr camera as there is a fixed lens in this one as a dslr have interchangeable lenses
ye will do, let me know what you're thinking of the d5000 so far as i may still get this yet, but the screen isn't as sharp as the canon nor is the movie recording as good, and also canon has more pixels too
OK, thank you for the fast answer! I knew that this camera is awesome! I am so happy that you told me the same thing! Thanks and please upload some videos taken with this camera ;)

no worries buddy, glad you liked
very nice video! good work!
which camera had the job to film???
I also like the 500D/t1i and might someday get one myself. What software are you using to edit your pictures now?
hey dude glad to have helped, although i now own a dslr as i want to get into photography a lot more than point n shoot, but this does take great pics for sure
I'm using Paint Shop Pro X2 Ultimate as it's a great program and low price. I also love the picture tube feature. If you have lots of money Photoshop CS4 Extended.
Thanks very much, little nervous made a few mistakes but really like doing the video, cheers man
i loved the d90 best camera i have ever used, the bokeh on it is awesome which i mainly wanted the camera for however this could not justify me keeping a £750 camera, the HX1 will do ther job, not as good, nowehere near as good, but all the same it will give pretty decent depth of field shots with a little patience setting it up, but you can use the custom button to use specific settings, so not that bad really

Nice Camera Man, ordered one up today myself :)
That's good. At least you can do a new unboxing video. As soon as I hit the lottery I'll have my new Macbook & D300S.
Just read up on the D300S and now I'm pretty interested in it.
Might have to dump the other cameras and get one of these. :)
What you think?
i will deffo be getting the d90 again, i sooo miss it
@spearmintmonkey I still have the Sony HX1 and now the new HX100v along with the Nikon D7000 and Nikon D5100. I just love these small Sont cybper shot cameras.
How U doing over there mate?
@MrPortosoccer17 thanks very much for ur kind words
not yet, still debating over the canon 500d, or the nikon d5000, cant afford another d90 yet but i will get it again soon, i sold my hx1 on ebay and lost just £10
Nice Camera, Just ordered the Sony HX100V.
@thebigwitness it's a sanyo xacti hd, i have now sold and cannot remember the model number, but yes the camera is awesome 1080p quality hd recording
Yea, I'm heading over to Best Buy tomorrow for one.
you'll have to let me know your name, mine is andy....right after much deliberation and reviewing i can see me swaying towards the canon 50d, for me the features and the look and software it's a winner, i have had several nikon dslr's now and it's time for a canon, i like the looks of the 50d, new menu layout looks sweet, few extras not on d90 but i think the software is a biggy in my book, RAW editing software too, more costly i know but i cant afford the d300s, YET....lol

@DarkZzakIZ thanks dude, really old one though, lol
although saying that, d300s has over d300...dual memory card slots, sd and cf....dust and shower proof body....magnesium alloy body...and 7fps, very very nice, but very expensive too, over in uk around £1400 for body alone, if you got other nikon lenses not so bad then, but i agree a beauty

Really enjoyed that.

@MrPortosoccer17 i was getting into photography more and decided to go for a dslr camera
How do you like this camera?
I'm thinking about purchasing one.
Thanks.
im thinking of getting this.
is it worth it? good photo quality?
How is this going from the Nikon D90?
I had the D5000 and took it back and now have had the D90 for a few months. I like the D90 but I'm also looking for a camera like the Sony HX1 for simplicity.

I have the D90 and I'm thinking about purchasing the Sony HX1.
Something about the D90 just does not thrill me either.
hi, no I believe you can't, as stated below I didn't have this camera for that long, hope this helps.
that moment when an almost 10 year old video has a better quality than one made in 2017
Yes the good old days when 720 was the big guns, thanks very much for the nice comment.
What camera did you film this movie?
What you get?
"Panoramic'' was the word you were looking for, I believe.
You are right. Get the Canon and do an unboxing.
You will sell it within a couple of weeks anyhow and be on the hunt for something else. LOL !
I heard Nikon was coming out with the D9000 to replace the D90.
me and you man are sooo alike, changing our cameras all the time, lolol
i also just sold my sony dsc-hx1...i had to get my dslr camera back i like an idiot got rid of my slr for some reason i dont know why it was the stupidest decision ever but i am getting my new slr tomorrow...the sony is a very nice camera but just like you said it does not even come close to an slr
What's that little dial near the function dial?
Hallo !
ich würde gerne wissen wollen was das für ein Messer ist mit dem Du im Video die Sony entpackst ???!!!
DANKE !!!
none at the moment as i am about to change my laptop so i think a new photo editing software is also called for, any suggestions??
i think from what i've seen so far the S is just a HD video add on like the d90, as the d300 doesn't have that HD movie recording, maybe one or two other features too, not sure on that one.. eh, never mind not winning the lottery you don't seem to do that bad at the moment,lol... d300 deffo a no-no for me, not worth the extra cash, d90 had more features than i wanted but now i feel more confident in using them as i have gained a fair bit more experience, i'm counting down the days

Another D90?
What happened to 500D?
It looks to be a good camera.
Cool, do another unboxing when you get it.
is any way that I can use the flash as almap when i shooting a movies in the dark?
Did you get a new camera yet?
hey there, i'm about to buy the canon 500d, or the t1i where you're from, i tested it and it took very very good pics, so this will be my temporary camera, then the nikon d300 or 700 i think, maybe the canon 50d but i like nikons really
any suggestion on cams of this range like around some 450$ to 550$
What camera did you use to film this video?
can you manual zoom?
quite a few hrs mate, check out on the web, they will give you some idea as i dont have this camera anymore
My next unboxing will be the Macbook Pro 17" as soon as I find the cash.
Yes, but I try to hold on to my cameras.
Just got the HX1 today and have no Pro Duo card here:(
your ideas helped me thanks, i did my homework, sony gives mim. memory you will want to buy more memory,$80.00 more, also insurance, more money. but i want one, thanks to your video.
Are you keeping this camera?
i'm still going through the net to find the cheapest deal, i think i've found it though, so hopefully won't be too long
contain hdmi exit?
thanks to whoever rated, much appreciated
Is that camera even out yet?
nice one, i not sure now maybe the canon 50d, nikon d90 again, i think i will get one of these and then upgrade at xmas for a pressie,lol....
its made in japan?
umm the sanyo xacti HD1010 hybrid if you like camcorder that takes pretty cool snaps also at high res
thanks man much appreciated
i'm not sure the nikon has enough for me to choose it over the canon, 3in screen with 920,000 res, better hd recording at 30fps and it will also record for 30 mins, unlike the nikon which is 5, and as far as i have seen the sound is really bad with nikon d5000 compared with the canon, still unsure though, may save for the d90,lol....again
Where's that 50D unboxing?
Waiting on that Canon 500D unboxing?
NO, I'm getting one of these to go with my D90 and other cameras I own.
At least give it a week or two. LOL !
What other cameras are you using as of now?
after thoroughly reviewing the d300 there's no major difference than that of the d90, not enough i din't think to sway me towards shelling out a good few hundred pounds more, d90 it is, or canon 50d,lol
a sanyo xacti HD1010, a gun style camcorder, very very good quality and this is in 720p not the full HD that this camcorder will achieve
i have already stated some features below
Nice unboxing.
@Choclate1502 hi, sanyo xacti 1080p hd, cant remember the model but its one of the newest models
come on you know me by now, literally now am lookin at the nikon d300 or the canon 50d instead of d90, body only good price for the 50d, cheaper than the d90, however i will have to get a lens, so was thinking of the nifty fifty to start
С ним идет в комплекте пульт ДУ?:???
i'm waiting to buy the bugger, let alone the vid
