Dayton has the largest single site employer in the state of Ohio: Wright Patterson Air Force Base (30,000 employees). It is the headquarters of the Air Force Materiel Command, Air Force Research Laboratory, etc. The legacy of innovation in aviation that started in Dayton by the Wright Brothers continues to this day.
Well, the video was "uploaded on RUclips a Year Ago" he might have Videotaped it during Coronavirus Stay home order Quarantine when the Roads we're desolate.. The Government buildings and nothing else was opened for anyone to go no RTA Buses were running.. @@JordanAHolbrook Maybe not this was uploaded a year ago I wonder if it was videotaped earlier when the Coronavirus Stay at Home Quarantine was in affect.. When the Stay at Home order Quarantine was in affect no RTA Buses were running the roads looks eery and desolate like this less cars than this at night and early morning.. I live in a south suburb Dayton Mall was and all stores in that area it looked creepy driving through there seeing no cars on the road.. I'd like to know what streets these are and what the dates are ..
What do you expect when one billion dollars has left a city per year? Dayton, Ohio! Aka Little Detroit. Charles Kettering, the inventor of the self charger became the largest GM stockholder. He brought 14 GM plants to Dayton. And Dayton, Ohio, Montgomery county, is a Democrat city and county in a Republican state. Dayton is slowly recovering. Slowly. Dayton has some nice people still. We also have the drug dealers, and doctor drug dealers. Not good. People will survive. Downtown Dayton is idea. It's surrounded by three rivers, a railroad and I-75. Downtown used to be home to 40,000 people. Everything was downtown. People came downtown to shop more or less. During the seventies the Malls came in and downtown began to die. Rike's was thee store and when the last Rike sold out to Federated, this was the beginning of the end for downtown Dayton. People lived and worked downtown. They didn't need a car. You could hop on bus and travel downtown for free within downtown. Once upon a tell you could take a trolley anywhere in Dayton. I knew a locksmith located downtown who used the trolley. He didn't drive. At one time there were over 1000 factories in Dayton. Kettering wasn't the only inventor. There were the Wright Bros., NCR, and so on. Someone working at GM developed an engine that got 53 mpg in a 4000 pound car. GM killed it. And GM wonders why it's on the skids now. It had Saturn they could have been Tesla. The Saturn car is perfect to make electric. With all the gear heads in Dayton, I'm sure Dayton could have made a self charging electric car. When GM left Dayton died. It's this simple. So, we're slowly recovering. We still have some nice people.
Recovering quickly not slowing. New lofts, condo's and more under construction now. Free RTA circulators available now. The only thing missing is dwntn grocery shopping..but that'll soon come. It's expensive to live dwntn however
