- They closed down the boat rentals at Castaic Lake due to the coronavirus so I had to go back to pounding the shoreline in search of the coveted largemouth and smallmouth bass.

Solid footage as always Tom. Keep up the great work buddy.
Thanks Eugene!
I Know it old video it good video and found your channel RUclips recommend. I got you and keep it up man and I’m from Seattle wa but move to California on October I’m fish that lake often.
Caught a 6lb bass at the lower with the hula grub! Thanks for all the tips brotha 🤙🏾
Congrats! That's an awesome catch!
Putting in work 💪🏾 it was definitely a good tome to go with the good cloud cover
Yes. I was hoping the low pressure system moving in would activate them a bit.
Nice catch bro😎🎣👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks!
Great video man!! Just found your channel and I really like the content🔥!! Keep it up and tight lines🎣
Thanks. As long as the fish keep biting I'll keep posting.
Tom Goes Fishin' For sure man, and hopefully this virus doesn’t stop us from doing what we love
Nice bass~
Thanks
Very nice, thanks for sharing.
What size rod it that and the action?
Your always crushing it, nice job man. What do you think about putting a tiny brush hog on a 1/6 oz shroom head?
I think it would be worth a try. Sometimes you just have to show them something they haven't seen before.
Hey thanks for the upload, any updates on boat rentals?
I spoke to the manager there earlier last week and he said they currently do not have a date for when they will be able to reopen.
sweet channel man, gonna go there soon any tips for beginners? what to bring.
thanks
Bring a drop shot rig. To be honest, the shore fishing has been a little tough recently. Try to get to the lake before it opens so you can get in and fish at first daylight. That would up your odds dramatically.
Great video. I was out there last week had some good trout fishing. New to bass fishing. What’s the best worms to use?
I like the 4.5 inch roboworms on a drop shot rig. Oxblood has been the most consistent color of late.
Thanks for the info! I’m excited to try those.
thanks for the video. You ever use the mojo rig with reapers from the dam at Castaic?
I have tried but I run into one of two problems. If I use a weight that is light enough to not get hung up I can't cast far enough. If I use a heavier weight I can cast far enough but I get hung up allot. I would love to be able to drift a mojo rig down the length of the dam in a boat but unfortunately that is not allowed.
@@TomGoesFishin Hey, thanks makes a lot of sense. I'm going to give the dam a try when the rain stops. Keep the videos coming!
How do I get to the west ramp from the main ramp? Do I walk the dam side all the way straight???
While technically you can do that, you can get ticketed for trespassing since there is an area between the end of the dam and the west ramp that is off limits. You would need to drive to the west ramp.
Sick bites. Spinning only?
I mostly fish finesse techniques. I got on a good reaction bite at the lagoon last summer. Thinking about picking up a baitcaster before then for this year.
Tom Goes Fishin' right on man. Your killing it either way.
Just picked up a sun dolphin pro 120 and hitting the lake Saturday. Any tips on where to go and what to use ?. I went there last weekend and got skunked
I would try the secondary points in coves. Drop shot or ned rig fished slow should get you some bites.
Tom Goes Fishin' cool thank you. Nice content keep it coming
Sweet, still open?
Yes, but it's on a day by day basis. It could change at any time.
Let's go fishing sometime. Boat rental on me
What Lb line are you using Tom
I use 6lb Invisx fluorocarbon
Any tips? I have been going to Castaic for 2 months now and still no bites!
What part of the lake have you been fishing? What time of the day? And what have you been using?
I fish morning till about 3ish of the west side ramp and the main ramp, I walk the shoreline until I can’t no more. I am using a bullet Weight and a green zoom bait crawfish, or a worm.
Give me some advice about hot spots and what kind of bait to use. I have been there 4 times during the 2 weeks but got nothing
Haven't really got any hot spots right now. All of my bites lately have come from drop shot, hula grubs and ned rigs fished painfully slow. My best advice would be to move around. Make a couple casts in one spot and if you're not getting bit try another spot. If you're on the dam, make a cast or two, then move over ten feet and repeat while working your way down the dam. Good luck.
