    I think even if we get humans to Mars in the near future, I figure it will be little more than a science outpost for a century or more, before any serious colonizing can be done. Just like Antarctica.
    We need to have mastered fusion power, before the resources of Mars can be fully processed at the scale we would need.

    • @samr.england613

      I agree. Except that the Antarctic Treaty says nothing about private individuals colonizing the frozen continent, only nation states are forbidden to do so. No one lives permanently in Antarctica because no one wants to. And Antarctica is a balmy, wet paradise compared to Mars. Musk is entirely and utterly full of crap.

      I like your comment dude, we human love to be at the location to get the details. Reflecting the entire proceeding, I think the best way to explore space is to use robots. After exhausting all its sciences we can now walk around from location to location. I say this because of how fragile biology is.
      If we don't take this fact into account and get carried away by our curiosity we'll constantly encounter casualties that'll make us lose interest and consider space as not worth the effort which indeed is wrong.

    He always neglects how this new atmosohere would be prevebted from being blown away by solarwind. Mars has a solid core, not a molten one like Earth. Our molten iron core/mantle is what generates the magnetic field which protect our atmospher from being vlown away by solar wind. Mars doesnt have that... we would have ti find a way to shield Mars from dolar wind.

      Mars core is molten iron, it just doesn’t generate a large enough magnetic field because of its size compared to the planet.

      @zaikura-chan6949 3 месяца назад

      @@MythrealGaming Hmm, it would seem youre right. In an astronomy course i took a couple of years ago in college we were taught rhat Mars has a solid core. But it seems there is at least a molten outter core like you mentioned, but it has cooled faster than Earths and doesnt experience much is any convection.
      Regardless my point still stands. The lack of convection currents means that Mars does not produce a magnetic field like Earth does. Any new atmosphere that does get put in place by "heating up mars" could be easily blown away by solar wind. It isnt as simple as bombing Mars. We would also need to find a way to shield the planet from Solar wind.

    Elon Musk SPACE-X held interviews of professionals to find a pilot for the first 'ONE WAY' exploration flight to Mars: Asking each candidate to NAME THEIR PRICE ...and GIVE A REASON WHY they should get the job.
    1st up was a GLOBE EARTHER ...... he said "I want 10 million dollars" - and when they asked him why he wanted to be favoured with their selection he said.. "I have given my last 30 employed years to NASA - Space is my life - It's all I know - I want to be the first human to set foot on Mars. I fully understand that it's a one way trip... and I'd be honoured to donate my fee to MIT for research.
    2nd up was a Micro-Biologist..... he said "I want 20 million dollars" - and when they asked him why he wanted to be favoured with their selection he said.. "I've given my last 40 employed years to Harvard - I know all biology inside out - I want to be the first human on this one way trip to discover new life on Mars... I will give 10 million to my family and donate the other 10 million to biological research.
    3rd up was a FLAT EARTHER.......... he said "I want 40 million dollars " - when the interviewer asked him why he wanted so much more money than the others ...he leaned over and whispered... "20 million dollars for me..... I'll give you 10 million dollars ....and we send that fuckin GLOBER - now... WSY ? " 🤣

Are humans born on Mars still considered humans or does a Martian birth make them something different? Is it even a necessary risk sending humans to a inhospitable planet or is it cheaper and more efficient to send drones and robots initally? Shouldnt humans be the last piece of the puzzle on a newly developed planet, why risk human health and safety in the initial development phases?

      We have already been sending rovers for the past decade at least. In order to put the rover on the planet we had to make a rocket capable of travelling that distance and successfully landing. Now we are in the process to see if we can safely transport humans from Earth to Mars, and if we can safely return them back. That's it. Colonizing the planet comes WAYYY later when we're 100% confident that a manned mission will be successful, and we can efficiently transport materials to and from Mars, just like how we built the ISS.

    Mars is a giant, dusty freeze dryer and it would be a hell hole to try and live there. It's possible to mildly terraform it , but the technology and know-how is beyond our current understanding and ability. Elon is living in a sci- fi fantasy dream world. Mars is a terrible candidate to attempt to terraform for many reasons. We can’t even alter a simple thunderstorm much less a tornado or hurricane. It is one thing to experiment with humans in a controlled environment to try and prediction how they would react in the real world.
    The danger is that we humans are extremely unpredictable and therefore the Standardization Procedures that first Mars colonizers are going to come with may prove to be a recipe for disaster.
    We, the Kingdom of Kush project, on the other hand, are planning to do something very very similar to joint Mars Colonization mission... Only we want to do it in the real world with real people and real challenges similar to those facing humans in general when it comes to the Mars mission. By setting up a physical presence o our reinvented state on an unclaimed land in the Nubian desert.
    We are observing and learning from the plans of SpaceX in order to apply the same, albeit on very minimized scales, in order to reinvent, sell, plan and establish what could potentially be the 55th state on the African continent.
    But the real kicker here is that SpaceX and NASA could study our success in this reestablishment project to come up with more informed, better tested standard.

    Mars is not good for Human Colonization because Mars does not have gravity that is similar to Earth. Gravity is important for human health. If we change Mars' gravity to earthlike gravity, it will effect the Earth orbit and we do want to do that. Therefore Venus is the best candidate for colonization if we figure out how to transform the atmosphere. Mars can be useful for a manufacturing industry because it offers lower energy cost. • @larky368
    @larky368 3 месяца назад

    When you say colonize do you actually mean living there and raising a family?? What parent would be abusive enough to even ponder condemning a child to live on a dead planet where he could never breathe real air or even touch his world and never be able to go back to Earth because the gravity would shatter his bones? Imagine a 180 pound person suddenly weighing 450 pounds?

    • @lobserionia

      Humans do not change that much. They will just have weaker bones and muscle.

    Multi-Planetary Species: Musk believes that becoming a multi-planetary species is crucial for the long-term survival of humanity. By establishing a colony on Mars, he aims to create a backup for humanity in case of catastrophic events on Earth.
