    Of course I had to google what happened to Lane and Christopher... and folks sad to say it wasn’t great. Apparently Christopher didn’t know about his mother’s death until he was 9 and believed then his father killed her. After the truth was revealed, they couldn’t repair the damage of their relationship and they have nothing to do with eachother. The story I read said Christopher is married with children and Lane says the murder took his wife and his son from him. What a tragic story that continued even 41 years later

      @supportyourtroopsathletes6460 3 года назад +5

      @@jancril7505 Jan, my former supervisor was the chief of police in both Madison and Milwaukee Wisconsin *Charles David Elver Sr* R.I.P stemming from the 1960s to the 1980s when this murder occured before he overseen a law enforcement unit with the Florida attorney generals office. His son *Charles David Elver Jr, was the youngest chief of police ever in the state of Wisconsin out of spring green Wisconsin in which on my last check, he still is today* . I have remained dear family friends with the entire Elver family most of my life as I am today often celebrating the holidays with the family. Anyways what I am getting at, technology and resources back in 1980 in which is the same month my uncle was Murdered as Maryland here in this video resulting in covering me in blood sending me to a child's mental health hospital that I want Ron to do a segment on as marylands month of her murder was a bad time for me. Law enforcement I know first hand in Florida was very weak on these techniques and technology back in 1980 that they could not do proper Investigations back then in both Wisconsin and Florida as well as the entire country. However today, Wisconsin has more intense training now then most of the country requiring a 4 year degree instead of a 5 to 9 month police academy.
      If you are by any chance familar with any American law enforcement protocols, there is four mandatory protocols all law enforcement must follow in the United States and in England also. The difference is statutes vs codes but the protocols are the same in which I will point out. ( *First protocol* ) *A officer must establish Mere Suspicion that a crime has been commited* clearly it was with a body and the knife sticking in her body. With that said, ( *2nd protocol* ) *A officer must prove that Reasonable Suspicion that a crime has been commited* Again a deceased body with a knife and signs of Rape covers that. ( *3rd protocol* ) *A officer must prove probable cause before a officer could take a suspect into custody* , the third step was never achieved and how could they with lacking information needed such as the statements from the witnesses as the witnesses did not come forward untill later and they had no rape kits or DNA testing abilities back then.
      Now if only two of the three witnesses came forward back then, probable cause would of been gained. A officer must establish the three first 3 protocols before the officers could take ANY Action, *the forth protocol is optional that still goes on today. The fourth protocol* Officers are asked but again not mandatory, but asked, if they could *provide evidence that is proven beyond a reasonable doubt* if a officer can not prove it beyond a reasonable doubt, it falls on the State and or district Attorneys shoulders to do step protocol four. This is why we have detectives in today's times to build the last protocol for the state or district attorney. Now with all this said, everyone can see the 3rd. And 4th. Protocol was simply impossible back in 1980 for both Maraland and my uncle alike who was both brutally Murdered back then. Law enforcement was *not what it is today by a long shot to close out such murder and even rape cases back then. Furthermore if the state or district attorney can not establish the 4th. Protocol, the suspect must be released. So the officers of the 1980s are really not to blame at all* . It is just a shame the witnesses came forward later when the more recent law enforcement officers was able to get the probable cause in witness statements.

      What the murderer took from Marilyn is immeasurable, her whole ahead of her, he took raising her boy, and all the joys that come from that, seeing her son graduate from school, seeing her son get married, she becoming a grandmother-what gives this man the right to do what he did I just hope to god he was sentenced to a lengthy time , put away for at least 40 years. I know some states are quite lenient, California for one, but my god the loss of this precious young girls life gone. What an injustice , so sorry Marilyn for your horrific final hours here on earth God bless you Angel, may you be resting with angels and protecting you with love. RIP

What makes these psychopaths and sociopaths believe they have the right to do something like this to another human being? The level of evil in someone like that must be so immense so huge. There are definitely monsters among us. My heart goes out to her son who never got the chance to know his beautiful mother. May Marilyn rest in peace.

    Thank you for visiting Marilyn's grave and sharing her sad story's victorious end. The police force was so smart. Kudos to them!
    Poor thing! I cannot imagine the fear she had and the pain she suffered. She and I were born the same year. She'd be 60 yrs old. She missed her baby growing up, holidays, maybe a career, maybe being a grandma. The murderer took so much away from her. Yet he goes on and lives his life. Thankfully, he'll be incarcerated for the rest of his.
    I have to say, the graveyard is beautiful! I love all of the old stones. The birth and death years being in the early-mid 1800s...how cool is that!
    It's a blessing that graves that old are in a cemetery where they are maintained. I follow a historian who lives in Georgia. He regularly finds abandoned graveyards there, and graves are frequently from mid-to late 1800s. It's fascinating and sad. He does a great job, tho, bringing attention and respect to the long-forgotten.

    It’s such a heart breaking story. This for some reason really touched me. I pray that Marilyn can Rest In Peace. She was just a year older than me. Lane you will be with her again and so will Christopher. May you both find happiness again.

      **Hugs tight** Oh god Rosemarie I can't even imagine what you're going through and I'm appalled by how you and your dear son were treated by your church community that your family helped to build. Some gratitude. I'm glad you were able to deliver a solid punch to the only thing they clearly care about, as deserved. Jesus dry their coffers as He cursed the fig tree.
      I hope that his murderers are caught and the sentencing for them just. May your son Rest In Peace and your heart be blamed and soothed by love. 🙏🖖💐

    So many lives affected by Marilyn’s brutal murder. Thankful justice was eventually served and Lane exonerated and freed from suspicion. Terribly sorry Lane and Christopher are estranged. Repairing their relationship is the best way to honor Marilyn. There’s a biblical saying: “An eye for an eye”. This is where I will leave it with regards to our present-day “justice system”. R.I.P. Marilyn. I’m so sorry this happened to you in the safety of your own home with your newborn sleeping close by. Thank you, Ron.
