Brixton: It got me thinking there was a new bike builder in SW2. A bike company you may be interested in is the Thai-Chinese Stallions. You see them everywhere in Thailand. Dirt cheap, the largest engine is a sleeved-down 400 cc copy of Honda's 500 cc single from the 1980s.
I know, I know, it's made in China. Even Chinese do not believe in our quality of motorcycles. BUT! THIS Brixton is made from a new manufacture, and the quality looks great. Better than some South Asian manufactured products. I just ordered the bike today and lets see how it goes. From what i know, the only issue right now is the temperature of the engine will reach your butt through the seat. Considering changing a seat might help to solve the problem AND improve the comfort.
I believe this bike is targeting Benelli's Leoncino more than the 401. You also have the RE Interceptor which is on the same price point. Makes more sense to me.
The only comment I have is about the instruments display, and your note of being potentially difficult to read in sunlight: my Yamaha XSR 900 has this type of display and it's absolutely clear and perfect in all lighting conditions, including direct bright sunlight. So it's not so much about having inverted colors, it's definitely about the quality of implementation. I have no idea about the quality in Brixton's bikes, but from your note it seems Honda isn't really paying attention to this detail.
You rarely review bikes I would ride, mate, but your film clips are top shelf... both quality and content... appreciate the work you put in... also subscribed to your podcast...

I doubt that they are available in USA/Canada... to bad! I would like that the new Moto Morini X-Cape 650 be available in North America. Please try to review one.
I bought my MotoGuzzi v7III in Canada much cheaper than in Europe, due mainly to lower taxes, so Canada is not that bad and it gets many european models.
Cracking commuter tools but the problem is where are the dealers (Husqvarna) probably one dealer somewhere inconvenient 🙄.. None the less, ideal alternative to the norm.
I loved the style and visuals of the 125cc Brixton, but the motor was a little too small for my likeing. The 500cc could be interesting tho. If it is fairly cheap I actually might consider this as for my 2nd bike.
Good review and comparison - I have a 2019 401 Svartpilen - raised the bars 3 cm and good to go - power to weight is important - what is the fuel capacity / range for the Brixton ?
It's a shame these are not singles. Given they're twins, I'd rather have a Benelli Leoncino 500. The Benelli looks better. Edit: the Husqvarna looks miles better than the Brixton.
Sad to read such anti Chinese sentiment in the comments. Try not to confuse the rule of Beijing with the will of the people. With all due respect. The 500 styling looks good. Hope it rides as well as it looks 👍

They are not as bad as you think. I've seen the 125 model and asked a couple of owners about them. They look beautiful, they are cheap and reliable ( as I'm led to believe) but quite underpowered. I'm looking forward to this model though.
I don't quite get all this boycotting of Chinese products. You're taking sales away from small companies that aren't in china (for the most part), Like this company. They're Austrian, so why should people not buy their bikes?

Damn you guys get really cool bikes. We get very little variety in Canada. Also the price ends up being so high here. Enjoy these rides!
Well... my quick conversion from euros to pounds is optimistic. We usually get a bit of a sting too
Canada needs to have a homemade brand of motorcycle to sell in the States....they would be very attractive given our exchange rates.

I doubt they will sell any at those prices, you would just buy a husky or KTM or Royal Enfield instead, cos they at the very least have badge kudos
