The value carries with Medical Officer will not be existed to other professions regardless money. I encourage my daughter to get selected for medicine, who is doing biology for A/L.
If one wants money, medicine is NOT the profession. Medical career is life of hard work, dedication, and resilience to keep grounded when things go wrong. It is a vocation, not a salary. It gives a comfortable living but not a luxurious life. If luxury is what one is after, never ever do medicine.

The curriculum is different in the colombo faculty now. In the second year, you have to learn all pharmacology, pathology, microbiology,parasitology and immunology. And you have 4 Continous assessments and a end of stream assessment which you have to face all modules in a single exam. And if have a cumulative mark less than 45 ,you have to repeat all 4 subjects. No study leave is given for the exam and you are not put into the junior batch. You have face the exam while doing clinical appoints and clinical sciences lectures and exams.

The curriculum is different in the colombo faculty now. In the second year, you have to learn all pharmacology, pathology, microbiology,parasitology and immunology. And you have 4 Continous assessments and a end of stream assessment which you have to face all modules in a single exam. And if have a cumulative mark less than 45 ,you have to repeat all 4 subjects. No study leave is given for the exam and you are not put into the junior batch. You have face the exam while doing clinical appoints and clinical sciences lectures and exams.
