Still waiting for the day that Eevee can evolve into Umbreon or Espeon with the sun and moon stones. Sylveon with the shiny stone would be nice as well. The theme of Eevee being able get all its forms just using stones is a cool idea and makes so much sense
Getting rid of location-based evolution in gen 8 would’ve been fine if they hadn’t introduced a NEW location-based evolution method in the same game. Also, I’ve always thought the moss rock and ice rock should’ve been a singular rock that can change its season (so to speak) based on the player’s actions
@@emperorcuboneyeah but I'd much prefer maxing out beauty than having to trade it while giving it a prism scale, while also risking your partner leaving with your milotic unless your partner isn't a rando
I think the NEXT best possible evolution change would change ALL those "trade with held item" evolutions to stuff like stone evolutions like some obvious examples Magmar-Magmortar: fire stone obviously Electabuzz-Electivire: thunder stone Seadra-Kingdra: water stone obviously Dusclops-Dusknoir: dusk stone like dusk is LITERALLY in the name Poliwhirl-Politoed: hear me out dawn stone think about it created as a branched option, its counterpart uses a water stone and we can FINALLY have a another mon to use dawn stone.
They kind of made friendship evolutions with eevee a mess now and I would welcome just making it so a sun stone gives you espeon, a moon stone gives you umbreon and a shiny stone gives you sylveon
tbh it's easy if you actually know what you're doing. Sylveon might need a new method at some point because I can see a lot of people getting it accidentally because they don't know what having a fairy move does though.
@@CraftsmanOfAwsomenes you could also be caught off guard by it needing to be day or night, some games such as Firered/Leafgreen don’t have day/night cycles and the timings can vary based on the game
The placement of the icy rock always was so monumentally stupid. Gen 4: before the 2nd gym vs. Before the 7th gym. Gen 5: around the 2nd gym vs... i think literally postgame? Gen 6: 8th gym vs. 6th (only time iirc where the grassy rock is this late) Gen 7: 4th trial vs. Literal victory road Gen 3 remakes: before the first gym vs. Around the 7th The grassy rock nearly always being around the second gym while ice rocks were basically always lategame.
Honestly hoping they keep giving older mons new evos especially kanto and johto to really balance the rosters before the inevitable region games return. I mean they've been hinting at it since alola and I'd love to see johto get the shine with miss "get in the bag" herself being champion
I think it'll have to keep happening, like if they ever bring Galarian Yamask back into the game it CAN'T evolve the exact same way, so they might as well make it easier!
@@emperorcubone Oh yeah. Breeding is completely different now with Picnics in SV. I got a few Munchlax and Happiny from making sandwiches and got some Eggs and they came out to my surprise.
In relation to the Ice, Leaf, and Thunder Stones, I think they should have it both ways. The stones can induce their evolutions, but whilst in the specified areas, leveling up is also given the effects of the stones, so one can still evolve them as they were introduced in Generation IV.
I feel like I’m not the only one who notices, but I HATE trade evolutions and Milltic being forced into a trade evolution basically for all its post gen 4 iterations besides ORAS and BDSP, is just rediculous. Like maybe just make the marvel scale an item like the Razor Fang where Feebas just has to hold the item and level up to evolve. Like seriously why do you force people to trade, you can’t even really say it’s to get people to connect with friends and trade since that’s normally what Version Exclusives are for. It should have been cut long before Gen 7 (pretty sure Alolan Graveler was the last trade evolution, with Treevenent being the last non regional varient). It doesn’t even make sense in lore since a good amount can now be found in the wild. So my idea is that in every future game should either just change the way the pokemon evolves or give us the Linking Cable/some sort of Trade Back machine to simulate trade evolutions without really trading. The only reason that the Linking Cable exists is because Game Freak wanted to make catching them all a part of Legends Postgame and they threw themselves in a corner with trade evolutions and had to make an out for themselves
The only one that makes somewhat sense is Shelmet and Karrablast which is pretty unique but not fun, so they should just make a way to always be able to have a double battle and just make its evolution so if both are used in a double battle, they immediately evolve after the battle. Since it makes sense considering how the trade evolving normally works.
The Linking Cord needs to be available all the time. I have friends to trade with but we are all adults with responsibilities so finding the time to actually do it is still a hassle
I would also suggest the Moon Stone to evolve EeveE into Umbreon, Sun Stone for Espeon (those are the cases in some of the romhacks), and Shiny Stone for Sylveon.
Fun fact you can use BDSP to feed Milotic poffins about 10 or so level 18 poffins to raise it’s beauty stats and then use Pokémon home to transfer it to Pokémon Scarlet of violet and level it up by 1 or use a rare candy to evolve it!
The special evolution methods beyond "Reach Level X" can generally fall under these categories: Trading (with special conditions) Level Up with special conditions Use an Item Special conditions can include knowing a certain move, requiring a certain location or time, needing certain species of Pokémon in the party/traded, needing friendship, etc. I know this wouldn't be implemented, but I'd love to Pokémon with special evolution methods have multiple methods. There's already Magneton & Nosepass are able to evolve either by level up in magnetic areas or by using a thunder stone on them. Imagine if you could level up Misdrevous in a graveyard to evolve it or evolve Cottonee thru level up in a sunny location. Special item trade evos could follow Legends Arceus's direction of just letting the item be directly used on the Pokémon.
Hey Cubone. Another great video. I'm sure you don't need any video ideas but a few for you if you're interested. 1. What would the types without an Eeveelution be like/called? I thought about this once in one of my videos, I think the best one I came up with a poison type being called "Polluceon" 2. Ranking the main series games by difficulty; taking into account how hard it is to get through the story mode, the quality of the rival, gym leaders, elite 4 etc... 3. What is the "Poster Pokemon" for each type? So which Pokemon best represents each type. That may be favoured towards the early gen Pokemon as they've been around longer but could be an interesting thought experiment. 4. Top 6 best, and worst, non-main series games? Snap, Pinball, Trading Card Game, Stadium etc.... Even the Master Trainer Board Game if you can count that one haha?? Not sure if other channels have tackled any of these topics as I don't watch any of them haha. I'm sure you'll acknowledge though if you repeat an idea.
Thanks! I'm always happy to hear ideas on things for the future. I like the Poster concept, however I probably haven't Played the worst spin-offs so I'd have to look into it more!
I'm honestly surprised that Stantler didn't get this treatment in SV. After all this isn't something that tied to the region but to a move so like how Hisuian Quilfish only needs the attack to evolve why not do the same. The move Psyshield Bash is an eggmove so just make it an x level with move to evolve. So that you could only need to do one transfer from Legends to SV to get as many Wyrdeer as you want instead of going back and forth every time you want one.
I thought it was insulting enough to have Stantler in Gen 9 without its evolution, but then they used the DLC to bring back Overqwil AND Ursaluna but NOT Wyrdeer!? Man, the poor guy can't catch a break...
@@emperorcubone Well Overqwil seems like the one that wins the most being easily available in the SV DLC. Ursaluna is a one special catch and can't get more outside of transfers. And while you can catch Kleavors as much as you want in SV, you can't evolve Scyther into one without transfers. Which is odd as the spot in the where you can catch them could easily had item spots were you can get Black Augurite if they programed them in.
If they aren’t gonna bring back the link cord then they should at least have in game trades for each trade evolution Pokémon, they would ask you for a specific Pokémon that evolves by trade and they’ll give you a Pokémon that evolves by trade.
@@emperorcubone yeah and they could even use these in game trade so that regionally locked Pokémon like regional forms and evolutions become available in games outside of their native region. Though I would prefer a safari zone for regional forms, where the zones of the safari zone would be named after the alola, galar, paldea regions, maybe Hisui too
Fun fact Nosepass is now the only Pokemon that evolves via Thunderstone that does not end up an Electric Type. There's also no Pokemon that is like that in regards to Leaf Stone, Fire Stone, Water Stone, or Ice Stone.
I think the linking cable should become available post E4. That way you still have the David and Goliath element of the player facing a fully evolved Gengar or Machamp with NFEs like Graveler and Kadabra during the final challenge.
That would be pretty cool imagery, especially when you come back for a rematch and now have the fully evolved stages yourself! Honestly it should just be like 3000 BP in whatever battle facility they have and call it a day...
@@emperorcubone I hope so! I mean it doesn't affect me because I don't have a Switch but making Pokemon actually accessible and having reasonable evolution methods sounds good
@jermainespeid4934 yes but espeon and umbreon are meant to symbolize the sun and moon. therefore sun and moon stone. If they did a ghost eevee i suppose that would be fitting of a dusk stone
Imo for Feebas it should just use the Prism Scale to evolve it. Or just level it up while holding the Prism Scale. Instead of trading it while holding the Prism Scale. I still agree that GameFreak should let us have alternate ways to evolve trade Pokémon in future Pokémon games.
To me changes in evolution are ok as long there are consistent with the species. For example I don't mind when now you can evolve Eevee into Leafeon with a Leaf Stone because it always evolved with a rock nearby with a grassy exterior, or how Feebass still needs to be beautiful to evolve. What I don't like is when they went the lazy route of everything evolving in the same way, like what they did with Pokémon Mystery Dungeon DX. It made most dungeons useless because you cannot find evolution items inside anymore. Ps: If Eevee could only evolve with stones I think it would suit better like this: Dusk Stone: Umbreon Shiny Stone: Espeon Moon Stone: Sylveon Why a Moon Stone for Sylveon? Because the Fairy type is often associated with the Moon in the Pokémon series, like the Jigglypuff and Clefairy lines. Also it leaves the Sun Stone and the Dawn Stone for cooler evolutions (Gives us Dragon please).
Would've been nice if they'd also updated Espeon, Umbreon, and Sylveon to use the shiny stone and either the sun and moon stones or the dawn and dusk stones when they updated Leafeon and Glaceon to be stone evolutions. It wouldn't even fully be a retcon, since Espeon and Umbreon were item evolutions in XD.
The linking cord item was one of the very few good things in Legends Arceus. If that game already wasn't good for much, at least I could transfer some Pokemon over from my other games and evolve them through items instead of trading.
I wish all Eeveelutions could evolve via stone: Vapor = Water Jolt = Thunder Flar = Fire Esp = Sun Umbr = Moon Leaf = Leaf Glac = Ice Sylveon = Shiny Then we could get a Dragon-type Eeveelution that evolves via the Dawn Stone and some other type of Eeveelution that evolves with the Dusk Stone (presumably it’d be a Ghost-type, but maybe a new type is in the cards?)
Man they seriously need to bring back the linking cord. Trade evos were never a problem for me in gens 1-7 since i have at least two of each system for the compatible games, but I only have one Switch, and no money. It won't be as big of a deal if the rumored Switch 2 has backwards compatibility like the GBA and DS, etc.
I really didn't find raising a Feebas' beauty stats that difficult. Introducing the prism scale and making it a trade evolution was really a hindrance though.
You could catch both forms of Lycanroc in the Alola region games, although it may be a bit late in your adventure to wait that long just to have the opposite form of Lycanroc dependent in your game version.
That is true that the opposite Lycanroc could be caught in the wild in the endgame, but if you wanted to start over you still couldn't use one in the first 9/10ths of the game...
I would have liked it if the EM evolutions evolved with a thunder stone while holding a magnet. A double item evolution like that would be interesting and could allow more possibilities in the future.
Changing the location based evolutions into needing Stones was a very good change. It was annoying trying to find the exact location Eevee needed to be to evolve into either Leafeon or Glaceon and now we can get Vikavolt much earlier in the game.
@@emperorcubone To be fair, there are so many obscure methods now that everyone should just be looking them online in the first place. The annoying ones are the ones with lame prep work like all the trade evolutions, Tyrogue, Feebas's original method, Galarian Yamask, Bisharp, Gimmighoul, etc.
8:43 Something weird about Feebas's Evolution is that the Beauty method just does not exist in Sw/Sh. It's in every game with Feebas both before and after, including S/V, but it can't happen in Galar.
I think the link cord would make the pokedex easier but you only limit it to 1 for every trade evo per game. Like if theres 5 then you do 5 quests (that also show which pokemon they are used for) to get said item and you get to use it. Then at the end of the quests you can't get any more but you get told you can trade for those evos. It would be a win win. fans would be able to get the evos without trading but also teach kids how to get more. Kids would learn to trade pokemon to get stronger and the older crowd wont have to waste the time to get someone to trade during their busy lives. AND IF YOU NEED MORE, YOU BUY MORE GAMES/CONSOLES SO EVEN POKEMON CAN STILL WIN.
Literally just one would be enough! You know, like how the stones work sometimes; you can't get ALL of them, but you can choose which ones are most important to you.
Thank gosh for the Prism Scale. Made getting a Milotic for my replay of Shining Pearl seamless. All I had to do was breed a tera raid Milotic because I'm not wasting any time catching a fresh one from a randomized, interchangeable water tile in Mt Coronet, evolve it with a Switch Lite I have to complement my main, max out her defence and hp evs with mochis and port her over to Shining Pearl via Pokemon Home. Infinitely better than finding a Feebas and going through the struggle of maxing out her beauty stat, being careful not to max out her sheen because she won't be able to eat anymore berries if that happens.
@@emperorcuboneAnd you better hope your Feebas doesn't have a nature that dislikes the dry flavor, because then it gets less of a beauty benefit from each snack. If your Feebas doesn't like the dry tasting PokeBlocks or Poffins it needs to evolve, release it into the wild and start over immediately. This is even worse in the Hoenn games because Emerald had to be extra and replace all but one Contest Hall with the Battle Tents, and Gen 3 relied on an internal battery for clock based events to occur, and if the battery runs dry, Berries can't grow in your game anymore unless you replace the battery, but doing so doing so resets the clock, and no new clock based events can occur until the new battery gets to where the last one left off, so you won't be able to grow Berries until that happens anyway. There are so many factors as to how evolving Feebas works, and I'm probably making it sound harder than it actually is, but God, does everything surrounding getting Milotic suck.
@@greninjamariokartpokemonfan At least once you find a Feebas square, you can keeping using it to get more, while the other games with Contests don't make it difficult to catch Feebas, and you can easily look up which Natures to avoid, so the Nature restriction is only a minor inconvenience.
I HATE trade evos. Beauty is easy as long as you have access to a game with poffin mechanics. Now with home I can just transfer to a different game to max beauty. Gimmicks beat trade evolutions every day.
I would have loved if the Legends Arceus route was maintained in Gen 9, or at least like a Gliscor and have it be item and time specific would be something!
I could agree with this for literally any other Pokemon besides Feebas; I mean have you *actually done the beauty method? It was WAY too much of a pain to try cooking all the food just right so I gave up, I don't know about you...
I’m part of the majority of people who are fine with version exclusives being the sole reason to even trade with other players. But I’ll just say that the Pokemon who evolve at late levels like Rufflet and Pawniward should be changed to be friendship evolutions.
Honestly, they really need to make the Link Cable permanent, if only to future proof the games. Lately, I've been playing the 3DS games for the first time (insert Slowpoke joke here), and it's now impossible to complete any of the trade evolutions unless you do it in person. I get that there's not really an incentive for Nintendo to keep running servers for 10+ year old games, but surely I'm not the only one still playing them, right?
Agreed; they have a massive problem future-proofing their games, like with Galarian Yamask's evolution method being literally impossible outside of Sword and Shield, so why bother making something you KNOW will be changed almost immediately anyway?
I get it. But be honest, did you ever actually DO the contest beauty method? Because if not then I guess there IS something worse than trade evolutions...
I think a new way of evolution is like dialogue choices causing you Pokémon to evolve into different Pokémon. I could imagine this in like an India region.
I completely disagree with Feebas being "improved" by the addition of the prism scale, as it turned an evolution you can obtain by yourself into one that requires either a second person or a second game and console. Imo the existence of trade item evolutions is 100% terrible and should be removed
I know people don't like them, but the concept was to get players to actually interact in person and share the joy of the experience together, so you can hardly fault them for that. Besides, you still CAN do it yourself on the Switch with BDSP keeping contests, so you can do it yourself if you want, or just track down someone else with the game because that's still less work than making so many Poffins!
@@emperorcubone I don't have BDSP because those games look really bad, and I still think making an evolution that you could obtain by yourself require a second person is a downgrade not an upgrade, and while the idea for trade evolutions is to get people to interact, trade item evolutions are just stupid and contrived, like why does Gligar evolve by just holding a Razor Fang while Rhydon needs to be traded while holding the Protector? Why can't these trade evolution items just be regular evolution items? There's not real reason outside of making them more tedious and nowadays with Nintendo Switch online being a payed service these evolutions are nearly paywalled if it were not for Tera Raids (which are totally random on what pokemon you find)
@@emperorcubone I did in platinum It may be tedious, but at least is doable without cheats on a game that is 15 years old and so nobody plays anymore.
@@emperorcubone I don't know about Poffins, but making Pokéblocks wasn't that bad. The hard part was getting enough Pamtre Berries in the first place. Even then, that just requires you to reach a certain point in the game and spend some time growing them while you do other things in the game, which is still better than a trade evolution.
I do think the location based evolutions are cool, but gamefreak just placed them awfully in some of these games. the Charjabug situation is a travesty
I personally dislike Feebas's evolution being changed to require trade. I feel like evolution by trade should never be the method that replaces one that can be achieved as a single player. A better solution would have been to have Feebas evolve at level 20 while holding the Prism Scale.
I mean they had to come up with Something since contests were out, (actually they didn't since they could have used the Pokemon Musicals as a replacement) But I could totally see just holding it working, especially if the item were mid to late game! It'd be like Gligar/Sneasel but in the daytime maybe?
@@emperorcubone True, but contests weren't a thing in HG/SS and you needed to evolve Feebas by giving it massages to increase its beauty. I think letting it evolve at level 20 while holding the Prism Scale makes it evolve at the same level as Magikarp while adding that extra difficulty needed to get the elusive Milotic.
No, the change to how Feebas evolves to Milotic is one of the worst one, how am I supposed to get Milotic in S/M without a second 3ds? GTS is dead and I'm not buying 2 consoles and games just to get a trade evolution.
Well that's more a problem with Bank/Home since the Gen 4 and 5 transfer methods still work to this day without internet! I said as much at the time Bank started but we're only just starting to feel the effects...
I'd appreciate it if they would at least allow me to trade between my Y version that I have as a digital download and my cartridge of Omega Ruby version.
The fact Nosepass got the Thunderstone Evolution Method in Legends Arceus is pointless. Pointless how? Exclusively Found in the Coronet Highlands, *OOPS!* My own theory it was also meant for the Crimson Mirelands or Obsidian Fieldlands, but, it holds no water because... I literally made up this theory right now. So adding a Thunderstone Method, but, no RESEARCH tasks saying to Evolve it with a Thunderstone & in the Coronet Highlands, makes it pointless. Also, did I mention it evolves in the same place it can be CAUGHT in BOTH Legends Arceus & Platinum? For seasoned players, this one is immediately obvious & is just a "why waste a Thunderstone on it"? Probably the reason Magnemite & Magneton are Distortion Exclusives to the Cobalt Coastlands, which makes no sense because they were present 3,000 years ago in the canon, which is a fact everyone forgets, but, yet I remember. When AZ is telling you the story of the 3,000 year old war, a picture shows up depicting the war and one of the Pokémon you can see is Magnemite or Magneton, proving that some "inorganic" Pokémon are, in fact, organic. So, Nosepass getting a Stone Evolution in PLA is pointless. I feel bad for whoever programmed that method of Evolution and did not add any extra locations for Nosepass to *spawn.* Also, PLA has trading in it.
Well just because Magnemite was in KALOS 3000 years ago doesn't mean it had made its way over to Hisui just yet, like how Yungoos was imported to Alola. But I disagree, I think it's good that both methods are available! Sometimes people catach a Pokemon but don't put it on their team until later, so if you've brought Nosepass over to the Fieldlands of something you might want to evolve it then and there, or you might not, it's up to you! Choice for the player is always best...
@@emperorcubone Magnezone is found in Hisui flying in three different spots. However, You do have a good point, maybe not enough Magnemite & Magneton made it to Hisui.
I think they just added the Thunder Stone method to be consistent with the changes already made to Magnezone and Vikavolt in their previous game. It ended up being necessary in S/V too.

Also, I’ve always thought the moss rock and ice rock should’ve been a singular rock that can change its season (so to speak) based on the player’s actions
Changing seasons would have been cool! Especially since it would have been before Gen 5 did it for the whole game...
I personally prefer Feebas's original evo method over the modern because I hate trade evos and actually enjoyed contests.
I enjoyed contests too, but MAXing out the beauty was a bit much. Maybe just a small investment in one stat would've been more manageable...
@@emperorcuboneFair enough
@@emperorcuboneyeah but I'd much prefer maxing out beauty than having to trade it while giving it a prism scale, while also risking your partner leaving with your milotic unless your partner isn't a rando
I think the NEXT best possible evolution change would change ALL those "trade with held item" evolutions to stuff like stone evolutions like some obvious examples
Magmar-Magmortar: fire stone obviously
Electabuzz-Electivire: thunder stone
Seadra-Kingdra: water stone obviously
Dusclops-Dusknoir: dusk stone like dusk is LITERALLY in the name
Poliwhirl-Politoed: hear me out dawn stone think about it created as a branched option, its counterpart uses a water stone and we can FINALLY have a another mon to use dawn stone.
They could just do like Legends Arceus and have the items they usually hold BE the evolution stones. That'd be fine with me!
They kind of made friendship evolutions with eevee a mess now and I would welcome just making it so a sun stone gives you espeon, a moon stone gives you umbreon and a shiny stone gives you sylveon
They did alter Espeon and Umbreon in the GameCube games, so why not go ahead and do it now?
tbh it's easy if you actually know what you're doing.
Thank God the Ice Stone exists. I bet this item made Glaceon fans happy
As a Glaceon fan, I can confirm that the easier method did in fact make me happy
The placement of the icy rock always was so monumentally stupid.
Gen 4: before the 2nd gym vs. Before the 7th gym.
Gen 5: around the 2nd gym vs... i think literally postgame?
Gen 6: 8th gym vs. 6th (only time iirc where the grassy rock is this late)
Gen 7: 4th trial vs. Literal victory road
Gen 3 remakes: before the first gym vs. Around the 7th
The grassy rock nearly always being around the second gym while ice rocks were basically always lategame.
@@emperorcubone yeah pokemon needs to keep EVOS simple as they keep wanting to make them strange.
They should slow down making new pkm. Just give new evolution and regional/co-evolution to old pokemon.
We don't need more flamingo
Kinda related but I like how they got rid if the need for incense for some baby mon.
Wait did they really? I didn't even know about that...
@@emperorcubone Oh yeah. Breeding is completely different now with Picnics in SV. I got a few Munchlax and Happiny from making sandwiches and got some Eggs and they came out to my surprise.
That explains it; I hate the picnic mechanic for breeding so much I never really use it.
In relation to the Ice, Leaf, and Thunder Stones, I think they should have it both ways. The stones can induce their evolutions, but whilst in the specified areas, leveling up is also given the effects of the stones, so one can still evolve them as they were introduced in Generation IV.
Dear pokemon your fans won’t be upset when you make it easier to evolve pokemon
Right? It only makes them more fun to use!
@@Sleepingfishie I think most of it is to promote a gimmick
İ wouldnt say milotic got easier
I love Legends Evolution methods. Mostly all the simplification:-)
The special evolution methods beyond "Reach Level X" can generally fall under these categories:
Trading (with special conditions)
Level Up with special conditions
Use an Item
Special conditions can include knowing a certain move, requiring a certain location or time, needing certain species of Pokémon in the party/traded, needing friendship, etc.
Being able to get Pokémon from different ways is the fun in the series.
While these are great, I’ll say the rare candy menthod to evolve a level 100 Pokémon is pretty nice
That is a great honorable mention actually!
Trade Evolutions are annoying. I don't mind them existing, but they need to have an alternate method for those who don't have friends to trade with.
Well they do have one now; let's see if they'll bother keeping it around!
I hope Electrabuzz and Magmar will evolve using the electric and fire stones instead of those random items plus trading
Hey Cubone. Another great video. I'm sure you don't need any video ideas but a few for you if you're interested.
1. What would the types without an Eeveelution be like/called? I thought about this once in one of my videos, I think the best one I came up with a poison type being called "Polluceon"
@@emperorcubone Thanks. I always like your Pokemon type videos so I was trying to think of ideas related to that aspect.
This could work! I loved the likes of the Alolan Graveler trade in Alola to get a free Alolan Golem WITH a Z-Crystal attached!
@@emperorcubone yeah and they could even use these in game trade so that regionally locked Pokémon like regional forms and evolutions become available in games outside of their native region. Though I would prefer a safari zone for regional forms, where the zones of the safari zone would be named after the alola, galar, paldea regions, maybe Hisui too
I would have really preferred for Prism scale be a held+ lv up item rather than trade evo item.
Fun fact Nosepass is now the only Pokemon that evolves via Thunderstone that does not end up an Electric Type. There's also no Pokemon that is like that in regards to Leaf Stone, Fire Stone, Water Stone, or Ice Stone.
And conversely there's still NO Pokemon that evolves from a Moon Stone that becomes the Moon type...
I really hope one day they fix trade evolutions..
They just did! All they need to do is maintain it!
@@emperorcubone I hope so! I mean it doesn't affect me because I don't have a Switch but making Pokemon actually accessible and having reasonable evolution methods sounds good
Original Febas evolution is strictly superior due to not needing a whole 2nd game to evolve
I just want Espeon, Umbreon, and Sylveon to use the Sun stone, moon stone, and shiny stone respectively for evolutions!
I mean honestly, it was right there! How could they not see it?
Well a dusk stone be good to evolve eevee into umdeon
@jermainespeid4934 yes but espeon and umbreon are meant to symbolize the sun and moon. therefore sun and moon stone. If they did a ghost eevee i suppose that would be fitting of a dusk stone
@@doorbox788 yeah some thing how they used a dusk stone to used Misdreavus evolve into Mismagius
@@doorbox788 i hope I’m gen 10 they do a eevee evolution into a ghost type
Imo for Feebas it should just use the Prism Scale to evolve it. Or just level it up while holding the Prism Scale. Instead of trading it while holding the Prism Scale. I still agree that GameFreak should let us have alternate ways to evolve trade Pokémon in future Pokémon games.
Imaging a world where instead of having to trade a pokémon with an object, you just give them the object.
0:18 😡 dudunsparce is my favourite Pokémon
To me changes in evolution are ok as long there are consistent with the species.
For example I don't mind when now you can evolve Eevee into Leafeon with a Leaf Stone because it always evolved with a rock nearby with a grassy exterior, or how Feebass still needs to be beautiful to evolve.
What I don't like is when they went the lazy route of everything evolving in the same way, like what they did with Pokémon Mystery Dungeon DX. It made most dungeons useless because you cannot find evolution items inside anymore.
Ps: If Eevee could only evolve with stones I think it would suit better like this:
Dusk Stone: Umbreon
Shiny Stone: Espeon
Moon Stone: Sylveon
Why a Moon Stone for Sylveon?
Here’s a change to evolution.
Cyndaquil evolves into Quilava at level 14, but in Hisui it evolves to Quilava at level 17.
The linking cord item was one of the very few good things in Legends Arceus. If that game already wasn't good for much, at least I could transfer some Pokemon over from my other games and evolve them through items instead of trading.
I wish all Eeveelutions could evolve via stone:
Vapor = Water
Jolt = Thunder
Flar = Fire
Esp = Sun
Umbr = Moon
Leaf = Leaf
Glac = Ice
Sylveon = Shiny
Then we could get a Dragon-type Eeveelution that evolves via the Dawn Stone and some other type of Eeveelution that evolves with the Dusk Stone (presumably it’d be a Ghost-type, but maybe a new type is in the cards?)
I actually have that Lycanroc card. I love it
I'm pretty sure the linking cord item actually first appeared way back in Mystery Dungeon Red and Blue.
That would be a really awesome way to make branching evolutions in the future!
Changing the location based evolutions into needing Stones was a very good change. It was annoying trying to find the exact location Eevee needed to be to evolve into either Leafeon or Glaceon and now we can get Vikavolt much earlier in the game.
The Eevee Rocks you could kind of recognize, but the Magnetic fields were always a bit random so good luck guessing it!
Confirmation that everything in Galar is too ugly! (Remember that tree?)
I wonder how many people didn't even know about the Sheen being a different thing and accidentally failed because of that...?
I wish trade evos with items just can be evolved with the item and no trading.
I would have loved if the Legends Arceus route was maintained in Gen 9, or at least like a Gliscor and have it be item and time specific would be something!
Now we just need Sun stone and Moon Stone for Espeon and Umbreon, then two new Eeveelutions for Dawn and Dusk Stone, Sylveon can be the Shiny Stone
I would happily take pokemon condition evolving for febass over its trade any day of the week. I at least wont have to rely on others.
I could agree with this for literally any other Pokemon besides Feebas; I mean have you *actually done the beauty method? It was WAY too much of a pain to try cooking all the food just right so I gave up, I don't know about you...
I don’t mind trade evolution is just you got to trust the people because if you trade machoke get into machamp good luck with that

Hah, they really should know their core demographic! But then again maybe they're trying to make people branch out...
@@emperorcubonecovid killed what lil bit of extroverted-ness introverts had. Lets us simmer gamefreak 😂
I’m part of the majority of people who are fine with version exclusives being the sole reason to even trade with other players. But I’ll just say that the Pokemon who evolve at late levels like Rufflet and Pawniward should be changed to be friendship evolutions.
Honestly I think the super high leveled evolutions are sometimes worse than trade ones!
3:27 but when will Umbreon and Espeon evolve with the moon stone or sun stone??
I have a linking cord, and two gameboys, and two gen three games.
I'm still wondering how Cosmoem will evolve the next time it appears in a mainline game.
I tried that for Overqwil in Scarlet version, but I still had to do the critical hit requirement for it to evolve.
I think change to Feebas' evolution is actually worse.....trading evolution is the worst....
I get it. But be honest, did you ever actually DO the contest beauty method? Because if not then I guess there IS something worse than trade evolutions...
@@emperorcubone Yes, believe it or not, I actually did it in ORAS.
I think a new way of evolution is like dialogue choices causing you Pokémon to evolve into different Pokémon. I could imagine this in like an India region.
So like how Digimon Survive did it? I know almost nobody played that game but they use the branching evolution system you're describing.
Great video I love how they change some of eevees Evolutions
I got all three of rock rafts evolutions
@@emperorcubone
I did in platinum
It may be tedious, but at least is doable without cheats on a game that is 15 years old and so nobody plays anymore.
Glaceon and leafeon
I would rather grind (Pokéblocks) Then trade and expect someone to trade it back.
Grind, yes. Pick berries and make Pokeblock/Poffins? no, definitely not...
The best evolution is by leveling up
Why they’re willing to do these and not willing to change evolution levels I’ll never know
I do think the location based evolutions are cool, but gamefreak just placed them awfully in some of these games. the Charjabug situation is a travesty
They should make Qwilfish evolve by listening to Nicki Minaj so he becomes a barb
link cable i would love to get a milotic that way
I personally dislike Feebas's evolution being changed to require trade.
I really disagree, evolving Feebas with blue pokeblocks is way more entertaining
Stay grounded? But how can I play Pokémon if I'm grounded?!😮 Doesn't it imply no phone, no Switch, computer only for homework?
Maybe... it's more meant to encourage everyone to remain balanced and down to earth!
@@emperorcubone idk if you got it, but it was a joke about kids being grounded for bad grades
I feel bad for whoever programmed that method of Evolution and did not add any extra locations for Nosepass to *spawn.*
Also, PLA has trading in it.
