1:04:10 ... Hot fire, a fishin' hole, and some gorgeous aurora going down ... not a bad way to spend the end of the world.
I haven't caught the entirety, but this has been a terrific ride, Loons ... thanks man. ❤‍🔥

Thanks Friedman! It would be a cozy perma night in that hut:)

Hey Loonsloon! Wow, I am with you. Its like the Whiteout challenge Hinterland has put into the game, all the prep and whiteout isn't there. I think you are the one who should be defining what's next and what's exciting for you, however since you have asked. First of all - indeed I was subconsciously fearing that will happen and now after watching your episode I realize why: the lock time is very reasonable, as soon as last pixel of the sun disappeared on the sundial the permanight starts, very logical. But of course, with that timing the temperature is pretty tame.
Exploring any other regions in this perma weather seems to be actually easier, than what you had before, because part of the night was so cold you could not travel at all for several days. The only thing is that you can't take much stuff with you and would be forced to hunt. Or eat cattails! That could be kind of cool I guess.
Staying in at the current temperature is not very fun. You do not need logs even, sticks + fishing will be sufficient.
But I propose you consider the third option. You could go back and retroactively set the settings to what you have expected it to be. In the episode 45 you briefly looked outside at about 3 minute mark. It was a bit before moon was straight up, and it was -44°C air temp. And then later you were forced to start the fire. When you came out in the morning it was -70°C, which was really cold. So you could go to settings and drop the minimum temperature by additional -15°C or so, which should bring you to -60°C air temp. This temperature, it feels, allows for a limited, probably ~1 minute walk outside the fire radius. My logic is - this is what you expected it to be and this is what you prepared for. Its a shame the clock stopped with last sunlight, and maybe there is a way to go into the code and reprogram it, but adjusting the low temp setting seems easiest.
What I mean is - on one hand you were prepared for temperature to be around that -60°C outside, this episode was supposed to be that. And this is modded game, meaning you supposed to be adjusting stuff constantly if it does not work properly. But on the other - I know it is kind of hard to put self imposed rules in place especially midrun.
It's all of course up to you, I am just suggesting a possibility. You could see if that change is doable and have an episode with the settings as you expected them and then decide if its worth it. At any rate I am sure I will be watching your next episode whatever it may be, new run or otherwise. Cheers!

Thanks Tamat - I knew you would be disappointed. In retrospect it would have been better just to leave the day lengthening going on forever, and eventually I’d get a practical permanight. Unfortunately with this version of RN - way back when - there was no possibility of changing settings once you start - they are baked in. In later versions Shieldheart introduced dynamic settings. Alas. Thanks for watching and for all the technical feedback along the way! Really legendary comments - thank you.

Loonsloon thank you for this awesome and original run! I was hoping for a couple of extra eps but yeah =]
Are you also excited for TLD2?

thanks! Yes me too re: couple of extra eps.. Very excited for TLD2!!! Surely it will be a bug ridden mess to begin with, but in the long run, it really could be awesome. Very excited indeed.

I know it's probably not challenging enough for ya but I would love a vanilla DLC run... Or..... How about a vanilla Misery run?

Thanks Ninja. I had the long term vanilla DLC livestream, which was not bad from a region exploration perspective. My current plan is to wait for a few more hinterland bug fixes, uninstall the DLC, and start collecting mods for the next Mod Stew.
