Hey! So i got 1 ophire hook and 2 are coming soon but I'm wondering... how did you feel going from Tulip to Ophire? I use clover amour which I love, super smooth, etc. I tried the ophire i got with just a few stitches to see how it felt and I love the handle, but I am unsure how I feel about the head being in-line and the material. I tried Prym hooks before and it was a no no right away, but I am wondering if you have any tips? I want to love them, plus even if they are cheaper than Furls they are not the most economy-friendly hooks, but like you said, they are super pretty and I just wanted to treat myself so I wanna make sure I get use from them. Great video! I got the pink moonstone so far and it's gorgeous.

Hi!! I have the Prym the Etimo Tulip, the Furls, and the Ophire! I've been using the Ophire exclusively on my last 2 projects and I am really in love!! I actually love how there is no "seam" between the hook and the handle. My stitches move across the hook really smooth, seamless! I wanted to try a few different sizes before I invested in the entire set...I am so happy that I did!! I think these will be my new GO TO! :) I hope this helps! XX Kim

Hi Kimberly, fairly new subscriber & am enjoying your videos. I wondered if you have tried Ommi hooks off of Amazon? They are a dupe for Furls but better for the same reasons you mention about the Ophire. They are about $11.85 & of course if you have prime then free shipping. The styles(colors) change as they go in & out of stock so you never know when you'll see a new one. I recommend the resin over the wood since a few have said they've gotten a wood one that was a little rough although none of my wood ones have been rough. Particularly I think it was the wood ones with resin in the middle that a few had a problem. My favorite is one called "Mix" that on the picture looks blue on the top & rust on the bottom. However in real it is a gorgeous translucent rainbow diagonal stripe that goes blue into yellow into a coral & full of sparkle. I was curious if you had ever tried them & they are $5 less than the Ophire & just another option I wanted to tell you about in case you didn't know. Thanks again for your content, I've been enjoying your videos. 🩷

Hi Lauren! First of all, thank you for subscribing, it's really nice to have you here!! I haven't tried the Omni, but you know what? I'll order one today and try it out against my other hooks. You made a great case for the Omni hook! XX Kim

Hi, Kimberly! I really enjoy your videos! I have a couple of questions about the Ophire hooks. Do they have any kind of thumb rest area? And is the handle smaller in diameter than the Furls? I use a pencil grip and find the Furls to be slightly uncomfortable and hard to use because they keep turning as I use them and they're too big for my hand. Thanks!

Hi!!! First of all, thank you so much for your comments, I'm very glad you found me. Secondly, the Ophire doesn't have a thumb rest, but I don't miss it at all, I don't even notice it. The shaft and handle is definitely smaller than the Furls, so it's mich easier for me to hold. I had no issues whatsoever transitioning over to the Ophire from my Tulips...not at all!! I highly HIGHLY recommend the Ophire hooks! I hope this helps you . XX Kim

I have only been crocheting for about 12mths; I bought a "set" of hooks from eBay & they work just fine. I won't be buying another "set" of hooks as I don't use the smaller sizes. Most of my work uses 4mm, 5mm, 5.5mm and 6mm hooks - so for me it is a waste of money to buy a set of hooks which contains sizes that I don't intend to use. I have recently ordered a 9mm hook and a 10mm hook (from eBay), as I will be trying out the chunkier yarns. Small hooks and fingering/superfine yarn are not my thing! 😵‍💫

Me too!!! I just got some 1.70 mm hooks from a friend...used for lace work...not for me. Lol

These companies are like most now. They raise the price because people will spend the money. People like to feel, oh it's the next new thing, I have to have it. I get it you're doing this as a business. You can make your money back, but even then, spending ridiculous amounts for a hook that is not any different other than the look, and yes hand carved is special, but some of these just get out of hand. If we slow production down the customer will feel "oh I must get this exclusive thing." So I can hike up the price. It's happening across all product lines. Not shortages other than manufacturers in most cases. I'm just tired of unnecessary inflation. I think the ridiculously priced thermos cup took me over the edge. Sorry for the rant..

Hi Cheryl! 👋 I agree with you! I thought they were already expensive and now increasing their costs🤨 but everything aside, I really do love the way the Ophire hook feels in my yarn, my hand, just all around better hook in my opinion! XX Kim

@@Kimberly_Knit4Brains I feel the same. I misplaced my favorite hook (it's probably wrapped in a WIP, I am guilty of 5 at the moment), and reached for a different hook. My notified me it wasn't in agreement with my choice.
