This is so refreshing and new compared to the previous mk stories. So many characters who were previously evil have become good which gives a depth to their personalities

the revision of the characters we have all grown to love is pure genius. its almost as if this is the purest version of them.
I mean i kinda like the fact of the half-redemption of the current timeline deadly alliance aganinist the Tsang Sung one. Literally looking at Tsang Sung Sacrificing himself for saving one of the campion aganist himself is refreshing
The expressions in this are S class to say the least, every single movement and the character's body languages tell so much, they aren't just figures standing still in the background even when they do not have dialogue. This is absolutely amazing.
The fact that we got to see a Mileena we never saw, and a story actually revolving around her without just basing her off as a side character is amazing. This game is a love letter to the fans, to all the fans. of all characters and all eras.

Unfortunately this story mode seems to be fan service to Mileena fans. no Jade in sight and Kitana - the key to the story's lore has been made a flunky...not a good look...still not sure why all the ninja girls can't be great at the same time...its either one or the other.

This was the greatest movie I've seen this year. I loved the references to Deadly Alliance and Armageddon, was ecstatic to see Quan Chi, Raiden and Shang Tsu pulling the same combination like they did on Onaga.
Will I play this? No.
Did I watch the entire thing? Yes.

Gotta say, Alan Lee did such a good job with Shang Tsung. Really captured some of the cadence of Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa.

I love the new mortal Kombat story because they did a time travel story with different timelines that actually makes sense to the continuity of the story.
It feels more concise and it feels grounded in the real world. Let's be honest, not too many people read the original endings to the characters in the past but the way the characters look and feel is more authentic.
If you could just explain the ending to me, where there are still foes alive planning a new multi timeline tournament within the timeline that was supposed to crumble and vanish after titan shang tsung has been erased, yet the temple and everything is still standing after we saw it breaking alongside his timelines fabrics just before. That would be nice

Yeah they finally actually did it in the games after hinting it for so long. I think the only other time we saw them kiss was in the second Mk animated film.

This was awesome! At the end, I liked the way Liu Kang wisely walked away from Madame Bo leaving everyone else to pay the bill.
What a great ending, but Kung Lau just sprinting away from everyone without a word had me in a laughing fit 🤣

So, back in mk11 you had the option to choose any character to defeat the final boss and become the time keeper. It'll show all the endings of what would it happen. All the characters (except dlc) are canon in their own ending. That's why we are seeing returning characters from the mk11 timeline.
This Mortal Kombat had such a good story, to the point it got ridiculous!

Reptile is the new scorpion. Servant of a Sorcerer that killed his family, Humble warrior, An actual name fitting for a warrior with his “condition.” Plus he’s rizzing up ashrah. He’s my favorite now.

Not just actor which was took to tournament but a guy which is great actor with budget problems, and has history knowledge about japanese culture etc.
The best mortal kombat story and gameplay ever. Loved it all just finished the story and I hope we can get all the crazy combinations from all the multi realms. Can’t wait for a DLC.

BUT from battle interractions, there's quite a lot happening.
Like shao and shang tsun escaping(no suprise), baraka's and tarkats possibly received better treatment than last incarnations, asrah build her own sect, syzoth becoming milenaa's one of trusted allies, and.. maybe I'll skip one fact where kung lao got hurt/rejected hha

I loved this story mode, I didn't think they could possibly top MK11 and the aftermath DLC but they did, Mortal Kombat multiverse who would have thought that?. They even showed love to characters like Baraka, Reptile, Mileena, Li Mei, Ashrah and even Jarrod. Sindel also got a chapter and was redeemed from her Mk 11 portrayal.
The only character that really got dunked on was Shao Khan, I hope characters like him and Shang Tsung are not in the next game, we have seen enough of them. Havik was one of the most requested characters and he didn't get to do much but him as the villain of the next game is awesome.
I could never get enough of Shang Tsung. His arrogance is top tier!

I’m so glad to see Lui Kang get a full blown redemption from him being an angry zombie for the last 3 games. He didn’t lose character and good heart. I like Bi Han but I feel like he’s always getting the short end of the stick lol. He coulda been a hero for once lol. But overall the story was very compelling great job! Can’t wait for the next one!

It's hard to describe but every other characters voice actor fit their character.
Nitara voice actress seemed to just be thrown in. Or another way of saying it, picture actors in a studio just reading their script and not giving emphasis to their lines for their character.

NRS just gave Hollywood a schooling in how to make a good Mortal Kombat movie. Everythings just on point. The voice acting is top notch.

Ive always loved mortal kombat and the movie scenes look amazing tbh but i actually miss it being open world where you gain certain skills off the people you fight, character grows in age etc etc. Think it was deception or something like that, haven't played it since I was young but it was my personal favourite mortal kombat game.
All the endings from each combatant from MK11, they are linked to this very new one, countless possibilities

Wow this came out fast. So hyped for the game tho. From what I've seen of it so far the action & comedy of the story is just top tier.
Better than any real Mortal Kombat movie! This was a genius idea on Ed Boon and the part of Netherrealm Studios! Take a popular franchise that has spanned over decades and turn into a new storyline with beloved characters and make it into something different that actually works. Loved all the new designs for the characters except for Tanya. They could've done her better than that and Jade should've been in this game too. With so many characters in Mortal Kombat and starting a new era, the possibilities of characters being the new focus like Liu Kang is endless! Great job on a superb game! Mortal Kombat 1 is DOPE ASF!!!

This is awesome. I always was no fan of fighting games, but the story of Mortal Kombat was always interesting to me and seeing this like a movie is the best thing ever. Love all the characters and how all are developed. This is so well done, I think this was for sure so awsome to fans of the saga, to experience this game not only for the ass kickin' but for seeing all the story developed from what it was since the first MK in the 90s until now. What a treat

It is neither the writers' nor the directors' fault for Hollywood, it is the producers. They aren't artists, they aren't writers, they're powerful idiots. Case in point: the writers' strike.
It's a lot easier to develop and publish a game the way you want it than it is a movie.
