Yay! She’s back. The most knowledgeable of all things lexus and best brand ambassador is back.
Aww! Thanks! Sorry I fell into an editing hole! LOL! I have been filming and editing deep dives for the ES, UX & LX and hope to have them all completed in the next few months. Cross your fingers for me! Thanks again for your sweet comment and support!
Thank you so much for the information !
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for being here!
Hi Melissa, your tutorials are simple the best. I have just purchased NX 450+ ( I live in Sweden) and my navigation system uses English metering system-instead of kilometers or meters it shows ( and talks) in yards and miles. I cannot find the way how to change it in my car. Unfortunately my Swedish dealer doesn’t know this either! Thank you for your help! Pawel
Hi! Thanks so much for your support! See if this section of the NX Deep Dive Tutorial series will help you to change the Units on your new NX450h+ 1:13:08 General Settings: Accessibility, Clock, Keyboard, Language & Units
It's from Part 2 of the tutorials: ruclips.net/video/IhtcuP-9c1g/видео.htmlsi=LqtGse47poNQASjn Thanks again for tuning in with me.
Is this Lexus version of self-driving??
I done see much point in this, especially to charge
Hi. This is not for self driving. This is a navigation system. It is connected to the cloud so it updates itself automatically twice per month, uses Google points of interest and an Intelligent Assistant. Most services that use an automatic updating system with lots of new data, like mapping software, will require a subscription at some point. Many Lexus models have a three-year trial as well. Goad to have you here.
Can the es350 before the 2023 models update to the latest nav interface?
Hi. Only cars that come from the factory with the Lexus Interface system are compatible with the new multimedia hardware and software. There is not a retrofit available for earlier models or vehicles that have different electrical platforms. Thanks so much for checking in.
Which do you prefer, Lexus Navi or Apple Car play.
Great question! I actually use both. Sometimes my phone is maxed out and not operating well, or a NAV app will need an update so, I just say, Hey Lexus get directions to... and jump over the Lexus NAV instead. On long trips I like to use Waze on Apple CarPlay for more information about debris, speed traps, and road closures. It's nice to have a lot of options. Which are you liking the most?
One thing I'm not able to find in my lexus navigation system is a loudspeaker icon or other way to get the last step of audio directions to repeat. Am I missing something obvious?
OK. You really had my curiosity going on this one. No one else has asked me about this on the new system, but on the previous models you could press the "Map/Voice" button and it would repeat the last instruction. Is that what you were thinking of? I went to my car and here's what I found. There are two ways to get the Lexus Assistant to repeat the last spoken direction. (Neither are as easy as pressing the old button, but that seems to be life right now.)
1. Say, "Hey Lexus repeat that last direction."
2. Look for the next turn on the map screen along the highlighted route. It will have a small box or highlight and a tiny arrow pointing in the direction of the turn. You can click on that box, you'll hear a beep and then it will repeat the last direction. If the next turn boxes are grayed out, touch one, you'll hear a beep and then they will be clickable, then you have to touch it again to hear the direction. I don't like having to click on things so many times and I do not recommend doing this while you are driving. So please try the voice command. _/\_
@@NorthsideLexus Thanks so much for this. The voice command worked. I tried the second option, and when I clicked on the next step arrow, I could not get the direction to repeat. As you pointed out, the voice command is the safer option, so I'll go with that. Much appreciated!
Is this available for the 2022 ES FSport too?
Hi Randy, Unfortunately the Drive Connect maps didn't start on the ES until the 2023 Model year when the vehicle was updated to the new Lexus Interface multimedia system. I hope this helps. Thanks very much for watching!
@@NorthsideLexus Thanks that's what i thought.
Hello you Tutorials are great, but none of them are answer my specific touch Screen infotainment system question. Which is I'm going to purchase a new Lexus IS 350 F-Sport based on whether it will provide Wireless Apply and Android Car Play through it's 10.3" or 14" Lexus Infotainment System. Can you advise. Do I need to wait for the 2024 Lexus IS and the 14" Infotainment System?
Thank you for tuning in. The 2023 IS does not have the new Lexus Interface system so it is not compatible for wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Hopefully the 2024 IS will have the new system, but I haven't seen a release about that just yet. Thanks again for being here.
Active connect subscription
Hi. Yes, this is with an active Drive Connect Subscription for the cloud based navigation service. Thanks for tuning in :)
Is the Lexus Navigation subscription based now? There is an expiry date on mine. Does that mean I won't be able to use it when it expires or it'll still work, but I won't be able to get updated maps?
If you have a vehicle with Lexus Interface cloud based navigation, then yes. The large screen package comes with a 3 year trial of Drive Connect maps and the small screen can be subscribed at any time. Currently the Go Anywhere subscription is $15/month. If you don't have an active trial or paid subscription there is not a Lexus map on the car. You would use any compatible map app form your phone through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. For example, Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze. Hope this helps.
I bought an NX 45h+ in July 2022 and the Nav screen is horrid. I never heard about "Drive-connect." Is that something that you get with the car or an add-on you have to purchase separately?
Hi Kevin, Drive Connect is the Navigation package. it is a subscription service. The large 14" screen comes with a free trial for three years. The standard 9.8" screen requires a paid subscription for the Drive Connect bundle. Otherwise you use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. You might like the deep dive tutorials I have for the NX: Part 1: ruclips.net/video/B6S21RoEq2E/видео.html and Part 2: ruclips.net/video/IhtcuP-9c1g/видео.html I hope this helps you out. Thanks for tuning in with me.
The cloud based nav is nice. It comes with 3 yrs complimentary service along with Lexus Enform. My car also includes head up display, it has speed warning function, I am not sure if that’s tied with the nav system or not.
This new version is the Lexus Interface system. I'm so glad they continued the 3-year trial for Interface like we had with the Dynamic NAV on the previous Lexus Enform system. What model and year is your new Lexus? The Speed warning is part of a feature called Road Sign Assist and you can have it on NAV and Non-NAV vehicles. It is super helpful!
Hi Melissa! When using this navigation (and you have selected to have the speed limit displayed), will it display the speed limit even if you don't have an active trip? So will it pop up on the map, if that is just the screen you have up (again not actively navigating somewhere). I look forward to your Rx tutorial! Hopefully there is one in the works!
Hi Jodi, Thanks so much for checking in! The speed limit will always show in the MID (if the system recognizes the sign,) but I have noticed that it is not always showing on the map on the Interface NAV now. I'm hoping that will come in an update. It's great that the navigation apps on the phones are also incorporating speed limit information now too. It is very helpful! Thanks again for being here!
Is this available for the 22 RX 450h? I tried sending an address to the car but it said” destination not found the address might be invalid or not supported?
Hi. The 2022 RX does not have this multimedia system. This would apply to the 2023 RX, however. Thanks for checking in.
I use night mode
I love that we have that feature now! Thanks for watching!
hi thank you for the review ... i bout the nx 450h and i have xiomi mi11 android phone . can i wirless connect to my lexus or i need to connect by cable
hi! As long as your phone is compatible with Android Auto and you follow the steps to setup for Bluetooth and Android Auto, then you should be able to connect wirelessly. Check out this section of the NX Deep Dive Tutorial - Part 1 that explains the steps: 22:18 Connect NX to Lexus App, Bluetooth & Apple CarPlay or Android Auto Thanks so much for tuning in!
Hi I have Lexus es300h December 2021 ,is that possible I will change interface like that
Hi! Thanks for checking in. The Lexus Interface system is not compatible for a retrofit and must be factory installed. The 2023 ES is the first year to receive Lexus Interface on that model.
@@NorthsideLexus thanks
Is this 21MM?
Hi! Yes, Lexus Interface is considered 21MM. Thanks for checking in with me.
Is this available for the 22 is f sport
Hi. Thanks so much for your question. Which 2022 FSport model are you needing help with? If the car has Lexus Interface then, yes. It is on all Lexus interface models. If it does not have the Lexus Interface system, then this setting is not compatible. I hope this helps.
