- This is a 50W Dumble Overdrive Special style amp build based on layouts and schematics from ampgarage.com, and of course the designs by Mr Dumble himself - RIP.
The amp has a power section from a 2nd Gen OS style - as per the '2nd Generation Final v2.jpeg' layout drawing by Tony Albany, and the preamp section from a No. 124 OS style - as per the '124_Dumble Overdrive special Complete Layout3.jpg' layout drawing by Martin Manning & Tony Albany.
6L6GCs valves/tubes are used in the power section, and the lower gain 12AT7 for the phase inverter, and transformers and choke as per the Fender Bassman. In this mod the stock negative feedback components are switchable into a presence circuit. The preamp is stock, with a Fairchild J201 on the FET input.
Any constructive criticism for future builds would be greatly appreciated, but please go easy as this is my first modded amp build.
Awesome Dan. Love the sound ❤.
BUT, does it go to 11?
Yeah mate..doesn't say it on the dial, but it certainly does!!
Nice one!
Thanks!
