No talking, just walking. Exploring the English Countryside. A nice gentle walk along the Cleveland Way. Starting on the edge of Robinhood's Bay, we follow the cliffside path nearly 7 miles to Whitby. There are ups and downs and many fantastic views of the cliffs and sea! My longest walk to date and what a joyful walk it was! I did stop for drink and snack breaks along the way which I was able to seamlessly edit out. Along the way we see many sheep, a heard of cows, lighthouses, dramatic drops, wheat fields, Whitby Abbey, before walking down the 199 Whitby Steps and finishing on the Beach. A truly beautiful walk! Do enjoy :)
My 164th of hopefully many RUclips Walks.
Time and date of walk: 4pm 6th July 2023 English Summer!
Dave's walk difficulty rating: 2 / 5 - Pack snacks and a drink for this one. A fair amount of ups and downs too.
    Dave's walk beauty rating: 6 / 5 just Beautiful!
Distance of this walk: 15,677 Steps 6.92 Miles / 11.13 km - My longest walk yet!
Distance of all RUclips walks so far: 809,366 Steps 346.26 Miles / 557.13 km

    About Dave's Walks
Hi there, I‘m Dave! I've lived in the English Countryside all my life, and I love it! I enjoy walking, and couldn’t help but notice just how beautiful the UK can be away from the cities. I found myself inspired and decided to get some camera equipment and make some walking videos so I can share my walks of the beautiful countryside with everyone!
I mainly focus on small towns, villages, picturesque landscapes, rolling hills and mountains, forests and canals, all along the coastlines in England, Scotland, Wales, and who knows maybe one day further afar!

Great video mate! I live in the fake Whitby located in Canada which was named after this Whitby. The Whitby here in Canada is flat, boring, lifeless and car infested with asphalt as far as the eye can see. A true car-centric suburban hellhole. I never knew that England was so picturesque and beautiful! If only Canada was charming and walkable like England. Whitby does reminds of a town called New Brightwater from the video game Sudeki!

Superb!! The bucolic pastures on your left flank with the sea ever to your right. And the breeze making it all so much more real for viewers. You did so well in framing stunning views of cliffs and sea with varied sorts of plant growth framing the foreground...but, honestly Dave, how did you choreograph a sheep on a bench and scampering cows? This one is on my growing list of Dave's adventures to watch again during the long days of winter ahead.

I always loved Robin Hood, Maid Miriam, he was a hero and she was so pretty, growing up in California! Of course the Disney animated movie, the older movie with Errol Flynn, the books. Every place you showed is beautiful and pretty. It also reminds me where I lived on the central California coast. I lived in Cambria, CA across from a small local park and on the other side, a long beach and the Pacific Ocean were my views from my home for eight years, I can hear and see the ocean everyday. The central California coast line has a lot of walking trails, very green grass and flowers. People going on long hikes up and down the hills with their family and their dogs. There’s a few places were one of two park benches several feet away from each other so you can sit and watch the ocean in peace. There’s cliffs that high or higher, especially in Big Sur, CA. Going up Highway 1 to Monterey and Carmel. I miss it there but the cost of living by the ocean in a nice home just got too expensive. Good thing we can drive to the coast anytime. My husband’s niece lives in Chippenham, hopefully we’ll be able to visit her and her family soon and see the beautiful U.K. and all it has to offer to see. Thank you so much for sharing with us. 😁🩷

Love this walk, always try and do it each year when we visit Robin hoods bay. The route at the beginning of the walk has changed. The fencing you see just slightly to the right as you go through the 2nd gate used to be part of the original path. It has been diverted due to costal erosion. Its beautiful, totally worth the effort.

I was on holiday in Whitby 7 years ago. My favourite place was Sandsend with a little cafe in an old house right on the coastal footpath a bit off the road if i remember correctly. Very nice memories. Greetings from Switzerland

Hi Dave, I came to Manchester from Istanbul just because I was so empressed by your walk!
Only thing is that I couldn’t imagine how can I turn back to my car that I will park at the starting point. Should I walk back through the 11 kilometers? Or are there any ways to go back like shuttle or public transportation etc.?
I need your quick response cause I am planning to go there tomorrow 🙏🏻
Thank you for making me impressed via your beautiful walking route!

Wow, that was incredible! It took me two weeks of morning meditations with my tea to watch it all. I especially loved how you filmed the ending. That was a vigorous walk with so much beautiful scenery. Thank you. I hope you enjoyed that cup of coffee.
PS - I'm always meaning to ask if holding the camera bothers you?

    • @DavesWalks
      @DavesWalks  10 месяцев назад +3

I very much enjoyed the coffee! Holding the camera is really no trouble at all. It is very light, I could happily hold it all day long.
