If the apple parents are dead, which it seems they are from this episode, it's very sad when you think about Grandpear, the last time he ever saw his daughter was when he disowned her.
There is a comic about what you saying. And it's really sad. I think everyone must read it after this episode, it perfectly complements this episode: www.deviantart.com/art/The-Life-I-Never-Had-688426037
I didn't cry two years ago when watching this but I decided to watch it again and I bawled my eyes out because I truly know the feelings of my mom passing a year ago. It's crazy how your feelings and reactions to certain episodes or scenarios in you life change over time.
Dragonal Don't worry about it. I said the same thing when I watched it the first time it was on RUclips. Plus, it's going to be hard for me since I'm doing a fanfic story of Applejack without using the canon version.
you know what gives me the most tragic feels? The fact that if Grandpear actually never saw his daughter after they married, he has to live with his decision and can never reconcile with his daughter.
In the comic strip, Grandpear regretted not reading Pear Butter’s letters over the years since it contained information about his grandchildren. Because of his stubbornness, he lost any chances of apologizing to his only daughter he loved so much and never got the chance to see how much Bright Mac is an excellent match for Pear Butter.
I love how towards the end of the episode Armoured, Lycan, and Dragonal were all bawling their eyes out, and Toxic just had a semi-amused face the entire time like "Y'all are a bunch of babies" Beautiful reaction to a beautiful episode. Keep up the good work, bros
First time I watched this episode, I was crying and sniffing at the end. It’s really heart-wrenching to see two families broken apart by a ridiculous feud. The worst part for Grand Pear was never seeing his daughter again; to never say goodbye, I love you or I’m sorry for his pride and arrogance. Not even went to his daughter’s and his son in law’s funerals to meet his three grandchildren, just spends most of his life in Vanhoover until now.
"Mom and dad left us something to remember them by"-apple bloom Their parents left them something to remember them by, means that they knew they wont be there with them and told their children about this (they knew that they might not see them again or are going to die before embarking on whatever things they are planning to do.) "If anything is gonna make it through, it's apples and pears"-A.J. Their parents might be on a one way trip quest towards something (or are trapped in the ordeal they are going through that they cant return from/still fighting something.) Not necessarily death.(i heard from someone that on a bronycon panel some time ago, someone asked about their parents and they got the response that they are dead from lauren faust.)
Despite the animosity between the Apple and Pear Family, including Grand Pear’s refusal to acknowledge his daughter’s new husband, Granny Smith stepped up and accepted her new daughter-in-law in open arms.
He made up for it by getting to know his grandkids. Grand Pear made mistakes and has alot of regrets because of how he left things with his daughter and son-in-law also explains why he was kinder to Apple Bloom because she looks the most like her dad.
I'm truly amazed by this episode. All the emotional reactions I've seen feel earned because the romance and bittersweet elements are handled so effectively. The episode was actually fairly mature. But what's really impressive is how a cartoon for children about talking ponies can handle all these elements better than most shows can.
What a beautiful tree at the end. I'm glad you all enjoyed the episode. William Shatner really added greatness to this episode as Grand Pear! I noticed you all started tearing up and that's okay. Applejack's parents were great ponies! You all must be great friends!
For extra feels go watch the Apple rendition of Auld Lang Syne from the Christmas album... "Our paths will cross again some day, In time to reunite; For family is always near, Even when the seas are wide..." :'( *sniff*
"... and when the Day come. When the Impossible become Possible. When the Truth been reveal. I shall bath in the Brony Tears of Joy!!!" Literally what running in my head when watching this.
Going back to Episode 4 Applebucking Season, when AJ tells Big Mac not to use his "fancy mathematics" with her, if he actually does know "fancy mathematics" I think we know where he learned it.
Well, that's assuming Taurel years are the same as Terran ones -- which, given each season in the show has had two fall and two winter episodes, and from the pilot to the season 4 premiere was a single year, is doubtful at best. But that would still mean that Pear Butter and Bright Mac were about 15 seasons old when they married, then they had three foals, and died sometime afterwards -- soon enough that even AJ and Mac don't remember them well.
Heh, I love how Toxic is fine and cares more about the VA for grandpear while the other 3 are like Rainbow's dad in 'Parental Guidence' and trying not to spurt a fresh fountain of tears ❤️❤️
Oh, how this episode really tugs at my heartstrings! This story is absolutely amazing, in more ways than one. The fact that AJ, AB and Big Mac are half Pear blew my mind. I don't really know if we should should call them "Apples to the core" anymore. :P Bight Mac and Buttercup truly are the best parents in the whole series, in my opinion. The two of them are so sweet and dedicated to one another, it warms my heart, brings a smile to my face and moves me to tears. :') It saddened me that Grand Pear left Buttercup the way he did but, I'm so glad that he came back to live the rest of his days with his family. With that being said, this is my favorite episode of the season from now on. Great reaction guys!
Four times. I've watched this episode four times. Twice on my own, and twice in reactions. And it doesn't matter. Ever. Damn. Time. Every time, I wind up weeping like a baby. This is the most beautiful episode of the show, so far.
I HAVE come across 5 other people who seem to dislike the episode, but one of them was spoiled on everything that happens. But having seen it multiple times myself, I think it fits perfectly with both of their characters' up to that point.
The wait for your react to this video was SO DAMN well-worth the time! I really thought, that I had watched it enough and enough reacts to not cry anymore, but then you guys come along and BAM! I'm bawling like a baby again. Great job!
This is one of the best love stories I've seen in fiction. I have never feels like this towards a couple since Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask from Sailor Moon franchise.
I had to revisit this video again. I'm so glad I was able to watch this episode with you guys again. This episode. Wow. It still hits hard to this day. Wow.
When Gran Pear started to cry I immediately thought, “This is gonna’ KILL Armoured." Next to ‘Mane Attraction’, this is my favorite reaction of the channel. And I thought Andy’s tears put me over the edge…
i know this feeling better then most as i ahve lost both parents, and have had to deal with the fallout of lack of will on my dads part, it has taken 4 years of bureaucracy but finally my brother and i have beaten the banks and kept our houses, i know the feelign and fallout so try and keep your head up as best you can, i'm not going to say it always gets better cause we both know that jsut isn't true, know that there are people that do care and do your best to not mourn the time lost, but rather celebrate the time that was.
This episode was both the cutest and saddest episode of MLP, in other words it's gut wrenching and real while still feeling like a fairy tale. It gave me more feels than the actual Romeo and Juliet did because it wasn't entirely tragic so it was easier to comprehend how sad it was. I also realise that the intentions of both stories are different, where Romeo and Juliet was more about not making huge terrible decisions based on emotion (wait isn't that what Grand Pear did?) while this is more about the importance of family and also the value of love.
I love that the description tells me that the reaction starts at 1:10. Like I'm gonna skip the intro. I think you Australians underestimate how much this American loves your content. I watch _the whole thing._
The song is just simply beautiful, I especially love when they're dancing from the other side of the street, it gets me every time. But I agree with Armor; when Grand Pear starts crying and admitting he was sorry about everything, it makes me tear up every God Dang Time, and I've seen this episode over 10 times now. Not since Crusaders of the Lost Mark did I cry so much with continuous views. William Shatner did an amazing job voicing Grand Pear.
I have enjoyed all of your videos from start to finish! Sadly it will be one of my last before I head off for basic training in the US Army Airborne. This was no doubt the best one to watch before I head out! Stay awesome and stay armored!!
This episode shows the mature undertones of the series in pure rawness. It's what makes it so appealing to those who feel more intensely than other people in this planet. It's also one of the few shows that legitimately sheds tears out of me, and this episode... Hoo, boy. Broke my wall of superficial stoicism.
When i saw this episode i literally fell some tears in the end with the apple pear tree. But seriously this episode is the most emotional and saddest one.
I am very proud of them! Crying is a HUMAN EMOTION THAT SHOULD NOT HIDE! Anyone can cry, and if they have to, why not. It shows a person that he is human and has emotions. Don't be afraid to cry! This episode is the most beautiful for me in the whole MLP series, it is the most beautiful and the most romantic.💖😭😭😭
I tear up every time I watch this episode cause it’s that heart wrenching to see the Apples and the Pears never ending the feud for years when Granny Smith and Grand Pear were adults until when the two grandparents are old then they decided to put the past behind them. Also for Bright Mac to say that big number “131,456” means him and Pear Butter have been boyfriend and girlfriend for almost 15 years, if you do the math correctly.
I was waiting as well for your reaction. Great video. Amazing episode. Fantastic series. Goddamit, tears fall each time I watch this... but I'm happy that these amazing writers can still put up stories that can make everyone feel so much.
If someone says they won't cry at all My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic will always eventually make them eat their words. I have seen several reactors say that and they fail.
Other episodes hit you in the feels, but they do it in the third act... "Amending Fences" - Moondancer's tearful outburst at Twilight "Brotherhooves Social" - Applebloom's emotional talk with Big Mac "Crusaders Of The Lost Mark" - The Crusaders at long last earn their cutie marks But... "The Perfect Pear" starts hitting you in the feels in act 2... Burnt Oak talking to the Apple siblings about their dad Then the flashbacks with Pear Butter and Chiffon Swirl Then...Pear Butter's song! Then in act 3... Pear Butter's tearful good-bye to Bright Mac The wedding Grand Pear disowning his own daughter Grand Pear's tearful regret Granny Smith's tearful apology And finally, the apple and pear tree in eternal embrace "The Perfect Pear" is the hit-to-the-feels equivalent of a multiple-warhead nuclear missile.
You guys are awesome! Have a Sub! On a side note tangent of sorts: A s*** ton of people think "oh it's just a girl's sparkly princess fantasy show about ponies and friendship~" Well those a-holes can eat their words and some s***, if hundreds, possibly thousands, of GROWN MEN cry and are in emotional distress because of this show!
Great reaction, guys. I loved this episode so much. I daresay it was in my top 5 favorite episodes of all time. I was a teary mess, especially during the song.
Aussie here, only just saw it the other day because episode only just went up the other day online. Only found this channel because keep listening to "You're In My Head Like a Catchy Song". I forgive you, this episode also had me holding back the tears. :')
Imagine if Grand Pear didn’t know about Buttercup’s passing until he returned to ponyville and after all this time had come back to reconcile with his daughter only to find out she’s dead. I am horrible.
I'm afraid there is no "if" about it; both Lauren Faust and Kora Kosicka (storyboard artist) have confirmed them dead.
Maybe they were abducted by aliens?
Sparx632 it hasn't been officially said that apple jacks parents are dead
U Got Wings?
Apple Bloom said their mum & dad left them something 2 REMEMBER them by
Think about it. The last memory Grand Pear had of his daughter was of him disowning her and making her cry at her wedding.
Never be afraid to cry, fellas! Shedding tears shows your honest emotions, and shows you are human beings!
It's fitting you say that since its a apple episode!
Absolute truth!! Everyone has the right to show emotions!
Welp i don’t cry I guess I’m a robot
I didn't cry two years ago when watching this but I decided to watch it again and I bawled my eyes out because I truly know the feelings of my mom passing a year ago. It's crazy how your feelings and reactions to certain episodes or scenarios in you life change over time.
"I didn't buy tickets for the feels train." - Dragonal
Too late. They don't accept refund.
Arondight2016 Productions I learned that the hard way :p
Dragonal Don't worry about it. I said the same thing when I watched it the first time it was on RUclips. Plus, it's going to be hard for me since I'm doing a fanfic story of Applejack without using the canon version.

anyone ever notice that Apple bloom looks exactly like her dad
Amy Nelson Ya,they pretty much have the same color scheme, and i love😍,i really wish they were still around😔
Amy Nelson Same here! Applejack has the same hairstyle as her mom, just straight, and Big Mac got her hair color.
Yep! only difference is the eye color
big mac's body and apple bloom's colors
Gay Silence I notice!
Real men cry, shows that they have a heart and emotions :) *hands ya'll tissues*

*Manly tear shedding intensifies* xD
The Lightning Brony true 😂
but I cry every damn time too when I watch this episode
It's liquid pride
Except for Toxic...unless he cries on the inside.
damn straight!!!
It's liquid pride.
i dare someone to call my little pony a show for 4 year olds after watching this episode, the episode that drove bronies everywhere to tears
Grand Pear was played by William Shatner and Pear Butter was played by Felicia Day.
From Buffy
Thomas Alvarez from the Guild lol is more what I know her from. Even though I was the biggest Buffy fan.
SHE WAS?! :O *goes to rewatch so I could see the credits* OMG, SHE WAS!!!
Holy Shatner!
His episode made me cry too and it made everyone cry
JCP React/EQG I love you
"The Perfect Pear" -> "Brony Tear Farm"
Lil JT thanks
2:40, I DID NOT EXPECT THEM ALL TO START SINGING ALONG TO THE THEME SONG, OMG!!!
I love how towards the end of the episode Armoured, Lycan, and Dragonal were all bawling their eyes out, and Toxic just had a semi-amused face the entire time like "Y'all are a bunch of babies"
Beautiful reaction to a beautiful episode. Keep up the good work, bros
Tox cries on the inside :p
Yes,I saw red eyes from trying to don't cry

Literally what running in my head when watching this.
*Irish Guy is like, "must not cry!"* - Made me tear too Bros! 😔👍
Fun fact, 131456 hours equals 14.9 years. Seems like someone is being clever with thier dates.
Going back to Episode 4 Applebucking Season, when AJ tells Big Mac not to use his "fancy mathematics" with her, if he actually does know "fancy mathematics" I think we know where he learned it.

I can imagine how they would react to reading that one comic strip of grand pear. More tears would ensue for sure.
It's called The life I never had, a mlp comic dub. Original art and story. Dr Wolf reads it.
Heh, I love how Toxic is fine and cares more about the VA for grandpear while the other 3 are like Rainbow's dad in 'Parental Guidence' and trying not to spurt a fresh fountain of tears ❤️❤️
Caroline Xie my curiosity overcame my emotions, also I cry on the inside.
!!!! thanks for replying!!!
yeah I cry on the inside but I watched the ep when my parents were gone so I bawled my eyes out freely
It seems so appropriate to see the Aussie Bronies react to a show released early in Australia
Oh, how this episode really tugs at my heartstrings! This story is absolutely amazing, in more ways than one. The fact that AJ, AB and Big Mac are half Pear blew my mind. JCP React/EQG hah! She's a background pony. Lol. 😂
Second best episode of the series, behind only Crusaders of the Lost Mark.
Yeah! Same me
funcoolfunfun thatscwhag I thought!
I personally think this is just ahead of that episode!
funcoolfunfun agreed, at least emotionally. hilarious goes to Royal Problem and Discordant Harmony
I HAVE come across 5 other people who seem to dislike the episode, but one of them was spoiled on everything that happens.

I love it when men aren't afraid to cry, it's adorable and cute. and I love their reaction when Apple Jack said "Those are our parents names!" haha
That collective groan at 17:47...
I had to revisit this video again. I'm so glad I was able to watch this episode with you guys again. This episode. Wow. It still hits hard to this day. Wow.
When Gran Pear started to cry I immediately thought, “This is gonna’ KILL Armoured."
Next to ‘Mane Attraction’, this is my favorite reaction of the channel. And I thought Andy’s tears put me over the edge…
six or more tmes ive watched this episode. and I CRIED EACH TIME. This was amazing.
What hurts the most is this episode aired exactly one month before my dad died. My only parent. I watched it again shortly after and it stung so bad
i know this feeling better then most as i ahve lost both parents, and have had to deal with the fallout of lack of will on my dads part, it has taken 4 years of bureaucracy but finally my brother and i have beaten the banks and kept our houses, i know the feelign and fallout so try and keep your head up as best you can, i'm not going to say it always gets better cause we both know that jsut isn't true, know that there are people that do care and do your best to not mourn the time lost, but rather celebrate the time that was.
These manly tears make me cry more 😢😭😭
I love this episode, it's perfect 💜
I just want to give you all hugs... this made me cry all over again. I watched it live when it aired in AU..

this is one of the most emotional episode I ever watch this is amazing and we finally meet the main six parents
this has to be one of the best episide
I love that the description tells me that the reaction starts at 1:10. Like I'm gonna skip the intro. I think you Australians underestimate how much this American loves your content. I watch _the whole thing._
I try and do what I can to cater to all. Some people might not wanna hear me blabber on like I tend to
The song is just simply beautiful, I especially love when they're dancing from the other side of the street, it gets me every time. Loved how u all were singing the opening lol 💖😄
the first time I watched this episode I was crying through the whole episode my dad cried too
Skye_the_Star BTS Mlp and Ham fam your father is a true man does he know the show or did it just catch him off guard
These two writers are seriously in top form. 4 episodes and they're all great.
Great job guys I cried too and just cried again watching with you guys the song gets me every time.
The only cartoon that has EVER made me cry
This is the episode were tears have meaning for so many things
2:41 This makes me feel so whole inside I need to hang out with these guys 😭 and they all teared up in the end!! Men of quality-!!!
My new favorite episode of the entire series. I did not think it possible for an episode in Season 7 to top all the rest, but it did
I have enjoyed all of your videos from start to finish! Sadly it will be one of my last before I head off for basic training in the US Army Airborne. This was no doubt the best one to watch before I head out! Stay awesome and stay armored!!
navyseal8492 best of luck to you mate. But that is if I don't get up the trailer react tomorrow and Ep 7 this weekend XD
The Armoured Brony Awesome!! Any content you put out is simply amazing! You and your wonderful team put out the best reacts!
navyseal8492 cheers mate! Currently stuck at work but you just made my day. Thank you so much XD
This episode shows the mature undertones of the series in pure rawness. It's what makes it so appealing to those who feel more intensely than other people in this planet. It's also one of the few shows that legitimately sheds tears out of me, and this episode... Hoo, boy. Broke my wall of superficial stoicism.
Felicia Day as Pear Butter, Will Shatner as Pear Butter, Bill Newton as Bright Mac
so many VIP's in one ep and such a moving ep it was. I cried during the song and the end, can't wait to see your reactions.
@@jademuseplays you mean Will Shatner as Grand Pear
@@Nari_artsz he meant Will Shatner as Grand Pear
Going back to watch this. It was what got me into watching reactors🙂
That's cool. I need to find time in my life to finish what I started here
When i saw this episode i literally fell some tears in the end with the apple pear tree.
But seriously this episode is the most emotional and saddest one.
True that mate XD
This episode was incredible to react to. I can't believe how amazing it was! I hope you all enjoyed watching it.
I love seeing reactors see this episode react the exact same way. It's awesome.
"You like it? Be honest, now"
"It's the best gift you could have given me!"
*AJ, AB and Big Mac look kind of grumpy*
It's nice to know I'm not the only one who cries about ponies ❤️
Liquid pride in them eyes, Australia. Greetings from United States, CA
Pear Butter: "Are you making me choose?"
Grand Pear: "Yes, I am."
Me: "What an asshole!"
this is the first mlp episode that actually made me cry! when i saw that tree at the end, i literally bawled like a baby!
Thank you for uploading this and i know how it feels like to not use any social media for a week.
This was the first episode i've stumbled on. I never knew how much I needed four men singing the intro song until now. And it was amazing.
I've seen this episode and reactions a dozen times. And I still cry. Oh, the feels!
1:51 Toxic: "Is that whats-his-face?"
Did you just call the legendary WIlliam Shatner "whats-his-face"?
I tear up every time I watch this episode cause it’s that heart wrenching to see the Apples and the Pears never ending the feud for years when Granny Smith and Grand Pear were adults until when the two grandparents are old then they decided to put the past behind them. Also for Bright Mac to say that big number “131,456” means him and Pear Butter have been boyfriend and girlfriend for almost 15 years, if you do the math correctly.
The Feelz Definitly Reelz in that episode. Well done guys very well done. I'm so glad y'all reacted to this episode thanks sooo much.
this made me cry too and i did loved it when she singed the song.
12:48 "Deny thy father and refuse thy name." Wowee, was that deep.
"that's not a pear." a few seconds into the reaction and i can already tell this gon b gud.
I was crying right along with Armored at every moment only my tears were silent if that makes sense no sniffles just rolling tears
First react by these guys that I've ever watched and THEIR SINGING THE THEME SONG IS SO ADORABLE!!!!!!!
one of my favorite episodes. and one of few that made me cry and have such a bittersweet ending
OMG this is the most beautiful and moving episode of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic I have ever watched.
I love your reactions, and I myself cried watching this and your videos are great
I was sobbing when I first saw the episode. Along with a huge smile on my face.
Other episodes hit you in the feels, but they do it in the third act...
"Amending Fences" - Moondancer's tearful outburst at Twilight
"Brotherhooves Social" - Applebloom's emotional talk with Big Mac
"Crusaders Of The Lost Mark" - The Crusaders at long last earn their cutie marks
But...
"The Perfect Pear" starts hitting you in the feels in act 2...
Burnt Oak talking to the Apple siblings about their dad
Then the flashbacks with Pear Butter and Chiffon Swirl
Then...Pear Butter's song!
Then in act 3...
Pear Butter's tearful good-bye to Bright Mac
The wedding
Grand Pear disowning his own daughter
Grand Pear's tearful regret
Granny Smith's tearful apology
And finally, the apple and pear tree in eternal embrace
"The Perfect Pear" is the hit-to-the-feels equivalent of a multiple-warhead nuclear missile.
My first thought when I pulled this vid up was Armoured is going to break so bad.
This episode gave me all the feels.
And the fact that William Shatner voiced Grand Pear is just Awesome
I NEVER CRY! why..... why every time.... every time i watch this episode i cry......
You guys are awesome! Have a Sub!

Great reaction, guys. I loved this episode so much. I daresay it was in my top 5 favorite episodes of all time. I was a teary mess, especially during the song.
Dear lord, I could see the light water reflection from the tears in all four of you guy's eyes. XD
But, makes sense, this story was so touching.
I know William Shatner. He's the host of an old show called Rescue 911. I seen the show when I was 12 years old.
This episode makes me want an episode about the rest of the Mane6's parents and how they met.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: "Manly Bronies aren't afraid to cry."
true that XD
There's something I love about 4 grown men singing the my little pony theme
I loved these reactions 🫶💙💙
I have seen this episode 4 times. I had cry each time i see it.
Aussie here, only just saw it the other day because episode only just went up the other day online.
Only found this channel because keep listening to "You're In My Head Like a Catchy Song".
I forgive you, this episode also had me holding back the tears. :')
XD i let them out XD
Imagine if Grand Pear didn’t know about Buttercup’s passing until he returned to ponyville and after all this time had come back to reconcile with his daughter only to find out she’s dead.
I am horrible.
