I really like this. I have this theory that XD keeping people into that dream state causes them to slowly die or lose their mind. Like he lets people have their greatest enjoyments and fantasies but at the cost of their life and future since they more they sleep the longer they still in the dream until they can't wake up anymore and he abandons them. Just a theory though, but I feel like you portrayed that well.
