- Before JCPenney was in this location, King Of Prussia Mall had Gimbel's and then Stern's. While those two were there, the third floor was a shopping floor. When JCPenney moved in, they installed a new Schindler RT elevator (in another video). They then divided the Schindler quadrant with a wall and made that part offices. They left the other part for storage. The only ways to get there are the freight elevator, the original Otis elevator in the back, and the emergency stairs next to the Otis (I used the Otis elevator). They installed fluorescent lights for partial lighting, because their old big circular lights aren't needed when probably 2 people go there per day. They locked the third floor from the otis elevator and they keep a key in the phone box. Today there was a wrench keeping it company. They still have intercoms and escalators there, but the escalators have a wall from the second floor. There is still a skylight In the escalator area, though. That place is creepy.
