Thank u honey! Your video is completely informative . My first contract as an Assistant Waiter for Royal Caribbean starts in one month and this info about your first day has been very useful. Greetings from Argentina !
Hey Gabriela. So good to hear that you enjoyed the video. If you have any doubts or questions, feel free to ask me any I'll try to make a video and help you as much as possible. Ship life is fun if you can learn to maintain a balance of work and play. If you party too hard, your body is going to get tired and you won't enjoy work. You must give your body enough rest. Because remember you have to work 6-7 months straight, without any day off. Have fun and make a lot of friends. Lots of love from India. Salut

It really depends. Sometimes it takes 1 month and sometimes it takes 1 year. If your resume is good and if you have enough experience, then you could be lucky.
Hi Nihao. How are you? :) I'm Srdjan from Montenegro and recently I got a job as an assistant waiter. It's a new experience for me, I don't know what is waiting for me! I watched your video but could you write me what is the most important part of my future job? Beside job, I afraid also my English, because I didn't have much experience with speaking English...? I'd like to help me...Thanks in advance Nihao.:)
Hi Srdjan. There is a lot that I could advise you on. But the most important advise I can give you is that you must have the right attitude towards people and have a friendly approach. Always keep a smile on your face, NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS. All technical things will be taught to you. You should also show interest in asking your colleagues, how to get things done in order to learn things faster. Don't worry about your English. I have seen a lot of people who couldn't speak English, but over a period of time, they had started to speak good English. More importantly, you must have fun. Enjoy your work everyday and take each day as it comes. Ship life is fun...if YOU want it to be. Congratulations on your new job.
Sandeep Dubey You should have a Hotel Management qualification. It makes it much easier for the interviewer to shortlist your profile. Secondly, you must have at least 1 to 2 years of experience. Once you have the above 2 points done, then you need to apply with HIREN INTERNATIONAL. They are the recruitment firm that I had got my job through. This was in 2007. Drop in your resume here. Once you get a call from them and if you clear all the interview rounds, then the recruitment firm will guide you with the rest of the process.
Hie brother ,Iam Arvind from Mumbai itself doing hotel management ,I have seen your both the videos both are too informative but I still have two questions. What is working hour on as a assistant waiter and how much minimum average salary one should expect
Arvind Gupta The average working time is 10 hours per day. The average money what you can earn on the ship as an Assistant Waiter is approximately 2000 dollars per month.
Can you tell me I have 6 years experience in hotels & resort in f & b department as a senior captain but I don't have any degree ,hotel management or etc only I have experience latter so can apply for cruise line job as assistant waiter.
Hi Ratan. You can still apply. It all depends how well you can impress the interviewer. I know a lot of people who didn't have any Hotel Management qualification but still managed to get a job on the cruise. So don't be afraid to try. What is the worst that could happen? You won't get the job, right? But at least you know that you tried. So update that CV of yours and apply soon. All the best to you.
Sushanth Coorg you should have minimum 2 years experience in a 5 Star Hotel. At least that's what I would recommend. Rest it also depends on luck. Sometimes there's a lot of staff required, so always keep applying. You never know when you might get the call. All the best and wish you success.

Thank you for sharing my brother but now I wanna know ,does the assistant waiter get tips? if so... is it directly from the guests or the waiter?
Hi. The assistant waiter gets tips from the guests directly.
Very Nice
If you are an Assistant Waiter do you need to know how to Mix an Alcohol and the Basic Flair ?
Assistant waiters are not required to know any bartending skills.
