I agree! Her style is unique! Janet and Katya are good too, But Oti’s moves always stand out. It’s like a basal tribal instinct of movement which I think comes from her South African origins, as Johanness has it too! Love her ❤️❤️
The Argentine Tangos are always choreographed by AT specialists, not the pros. And she won't do the Charleston next week either. Or the salsa if & when that happens. But yep- she's been great at all the other dances.

Still watching these two dance and still think they were the best ever seen on Strictly. Sheer magic they should have won that year. How they didnt is beyond me
Angie Gatfield, What's interesting about the song is the writer of it said he finally learned the truth that makes the lyrics a huge mistake! He'd been smitten w/ a lady, but was erroneously (deliberately?) told she was leaving town to go back to an old love. He wrote the song w/o even talking w/ her about it. Years later he saw her & finally asked HER & she said there was NO "old flame!" She'd only gone to another town because she'd found a better job there! The whole song was based on a LIE - perhaps perpetuated by a man who'd wanted the young lady for himself and tried to get him (the writer) out of the picture or perhaps who was just repeating idle, False gossip!
I think they fully understood the sensual nature of the dance, but, the song is about cheating, and the introduction set the scene for an argument. It was like he was sort of disgusted with her, but also the romantic chemistry between them lined every movement, because they are so attuned. Ugh, words cant express, it was like watching a section of a film and without words you feel their entire life story. It's usually like two new lovers expressing passion for the first time, but this was like a mature couple reawakening passion in the emotional battle of a painful ending and betrayal. This is very rarely the theme of the argentine tango. But nevertheless it feels like it captures the very essence of the dance.
Esther Ninsiima, And the story behind the song is even more interesting. The writer later stated that the lyrics were all based on erroneous information! Seems the young lady he was smitten with was no "betrayer" at all, but he did not find that out until years after the song had been out. A man had erroneously told him she was leaving town to be with an old flame, but she herself, years later, told him (the writer) she'd only left because she'd been offered a job in another town! Needless to say, he was Floored!
This was Strictly’s peak. Danny Mac and Oti are absolutely amazing.

Still within the dance they could have asked for some 'breather' within the routine to show the sensuality and fluidity of this dance. This 'speedy gonzalas' approach means the entire routine can't be a 10 dance, though the hooks and flicks were beautifully executed...
Danny had previous dance experience.
@@12345678910111213955 -As he said himself "it was three years at drama school and never before and never since". Speaking as someone who just likes watching Strictly and has no dance experience at all, I'd guess that whatever they taught at drama school it would be nothing like the Samba, Foxtrot et al, so surely he would have to learn the dances from scratch just like everyone else? Besides, there's been a few contestants who've had more dance experience than he had.
@@Ann-my1dg I don't know exactly dear but I have watched somewhere in TV show or I had read an article that he had previous dance experience. He dance like professional dancer. I felt even better than professionals.
@@Ann-my1dg I absolutely loved his Argentine tango and samba.
When I watch these two it's genuinely hard to tell who is the professional dancer because they are both equally amazing. Danny Mac is incredible- this dance had some very complicated choreography but he nailed every single step. Plus it doesn't hurt that he and his partner have got chemistry as well as the moves.
Oti is insanely beautiful
This has always been my favourite Argentine tango ever! no one has ever danced as good and exciting as Danny and Oti. This should have scored 40. No wonder Len Goodman was cross with Darcy and Craig. Bruno and Len explained why it should have scored more. Perfect dance, well executed. They were robbed.
Dishonest Darcey - glad she's gone!
Jeez Oti, are you for real? Always out of this world!
Danny mac, Perfect specimen of a male dancer
I couldn't take my eyes off her. She's so strong, sensual and excellent.
How on earth Danny and Oti did not win is still a mystery. I cannot even remember who won that year.
Some employee of the BBC - say no more . . . . . . .
Christine Stuart-Monteith Ore and Joeanne
Still watching these two dance and still think they were the best ever seen on Strictly. Sheer magic they should have won that year. How they didnt is beyond me
What an arrangement by Dave and great singing by Tommy . Coupled with Danny & Oti`s dancing this was musical magic ! Roger
Watching during Covid lockdown - and this is every bit as brilliant as I remember...
Still my winners all these years later. What a fantastic celeb and pro pairing!
This should've been a 40...
But moving on, how freaking awesome is this cover of this song. I LOVE it... wish there was a full version
Angie Gatfield SAME. Been searching for one for months!
This was absolutely entrancing. So swift and sharp....and love the cover version of “I heard it through the grapevine.”
