This is good if you can transfer from the wheelchair to the toilet, bed or front seat. You can not drive it from your wheelchair. The real advantage is you can go on a trip and not have to worry about getting into bathrooms at gas stations or rest stops, you just use your own.
We have the pop top model. We love it so far. I just wish there was more cargo space in the rear.
Thanks for watching! I am glad to hear you are enjoying your Roam. Storage vs drive-ability are always factors in choosing a van camper.
What is price foe one of these? And is there option wherw driver seat spins 180 deg
Would like to see someone in a wheelchair actually accessing the areas in this. Could they reach the microwave or even get to the sink. How hard would it be to transfer to the toilet or bed....
I looked at this so called accessible van. Actually it's almost impossible to transfer from my wheelchair to the bed, toilet(bar is in the way) nor was I able to turn around inside the van, couldn't get to the driver's seat because of the step up.
Hi Josh! Thanks for this video 😊 do you sell these ROAM in south Florida? Happy new year! 🎊
Thanks for watching! We are a dealer in Milwaukee, but we do sell nationwide. We get customers from every corner of the U.S. that will fly in and drive their new RV home. Or it can even be shipped to you. Please reach out to Josh for more info at 414-281-6330
Usable by a paraplegic. Is an paraplegic involved in the design of these ?
No, they weren't involved in the design. The only thing accessible about the van is the wheelchair lift, wasn't I finally maneuvered myself inside after getting off the lift, you can't move at all inside nor reach anything!
@@lewisbale1 well, that is certainly usefull.
I use a walker, this would be good for those of us with limited mobility.
This might be perfect for you!
Why does it need a black water tank and a sewer hose if it's a cassette toilet?
Thanks for watching! The sewer hose is used for the grey water discharge. Some will buy a fitting to empty the cassette in a dump station at the campground and they will use the hose for that.
This was obviously designed for someone who uses a wheelchair occasionally to get around, not an actual wheelchair user (unless you're a wheelchair athlete). The car seats and bench/bed are too high to transfer from a wheelchair without standing. Not to mention the useless microwave.
How hard would it have been to raise the base floor a bit so transferring would be an option for the everyday wheelchair user. Winnebago doesn't even seem to be trying.
Thanks for watching! I will pass these comments on to Winnebago. To Winnebago's credit they are one of only a few manufactures who have worked towards providing accessibility products in the RV space. This is a great platform to start with, certainly some modifications may be required.
I be able to drive this fan myself I am a pair of plegic and alone
Thanks for watching! This van would require some additional upfit by a mobility outfitter to be usable for your situation. Although it would not come from Winnebago with these items, we can work with you and local mobility upfitters to help you get what you need.
