I have adopted BP as my first dog. Because they are so calm at home, they actually thrive in apartment setting as well. When at home, they just love to lounge around.She loves snow and she's not generally interested in strangers, although sometimes she surprises me when she tries to get cuddles from passers by. Super healthy, no smell and easy maintenance dog. She's also super lovable, cuddly and funny. I love her to bits and I'm so lucky that this amazing dog came to my life.
@@wgdetective7034 yes it does. I was brushing mines fur very often, however there was still a lot of hair all over the house daily. The good thing is that the hair was very easy to remove.
I was so blessed to adopt my BP as a rescue from the pound. They took him in as a stray and one family adopted him but then brought him back. I’m so lucky and blessed with my good boy
Got my picard a year ago as a rescue. Wanted to wait a few more yrs to let kids grow more but he is the best thing for us, alway had dogs in my life love this guy. Super intelligent, and excellent 'common sense'

Mine acts like she had intense social and obedience training but never actually had any, They are very much like a bigger and hairier version of boxer, highly intelligent, Confident and outgoing to no end, With big yard or lots of running with their humans! is a must to keep them happy as a bee in honey.
My boys brought a baby puppy home from being lost for days in a store parking lot. They asked them to take the little thing before it got hit. Love at first sight. Lots of research matched it up to being a Picardy Shepherd. One of the best smartest dogs ever. Lived to be 15 years young.
6 months ago I adopted a puppy. Not knowing the breed, just loved his ears that continuously stand up. I recently took him to a kennel and a lady there stated he looked like a Berger Picard. Looked up breed info and his looks and characteristics match. He is going to be a small dog, not the 50-75 lbs the breed normally gets. At 8 months of age he is 17 lbs.
I love the looks of this dog!!!! They resemble my own mixed breed hero dog. I had to go see the movie "because of Winn Dixie" just because he was on my heart💖💖💖💖 I would love to have the lifestyle that would allow me to have a Berger Picard💋💋💋💋💋
There's a lot wrong with this video. Age up to 12-14 years ,are the exception. Height:56-65 Character: reserved, not always friendly when growing up with nice children, no problem, big hunting instinct from time to time, with cats o.k. from the beginning, with other dogs not generally friendly, high wake up instinct, needs a consequent calm and balanced leadership, not an easy breed. Needs a lot of movement and tasks, a good competent dog trainer. Does not like heat Health. tight genetics, prone to diarrhea and claw problems, eye problems. Regular brushing, no trimming, bathing not necessary, No dog that has fun with agilitty, only limited, no German shepherd dog, not willing to work, intelligence medium, prey drive high, barking medium, exercises a lot, switches off quickly. Costs, if no diseases occur normally. Stress sensitive, not anybody dog. I am Berger Picard breeder
No, if I want a herding shedding dog, would get gsd. But BP is beautiful. Had a siberian/gsd mix and although extremely intelligent, I can’t handle shedding, a lot of work to keep house clean. Also energy level is too high for me as I am no longer young as when I had the GSD mix, jogged everyday

For 5 years we thought he was some kind of mutt until a groomer spotted him. I laugh any time i think of it. What a hoot! What an extraordinary breed.

It is unlikely that he is a Berger Picard but he sure does sound cute.

Berger Picards do not shed anywhere as much as a GSD. For a long coat like that they shed very little.
Way off on your analysis! zero drool, low shedders, zero odor, excellent for apartment living................
