Have you ever thought about solo camping. Maybe you just love hiking. well either way check out this video I made while doing a solo backpacking trip in the Canadian wilderness.
Nice. Been thinking about doing some Bruce trail action myself. That little section looks pretty sweet.
you should definitely do it!
I hiked the Bruce as a kid, grade 7, 8, 9. Summer camp dropped us south and we walked for 3 days north. The most incredible moments of my life. I now have my own 12 year old son, Im so excited to take him up to that beautiful piece of land.
What an awesome story! Thanks for watching!
Bridges... nice to have. I had to change clothes to cross a river in a Wilderness area in Alberta. Had to cross it in three places as it was so wide. Same thing on the return. Freezing cold. Fire and towel to dry before continuing the hike. There were big bridges on the bank for pack horses, nothing for trekkers. A very memorable solo hike. Lots of moose and coyotes. I think I counted 13 deer.
Hi Matt! Found you because we were looking for hikers who take on trails around the Hudson Bay. We enjoyed this video and will continue to watch:)
Doc and Angel
great hike beautiful land too. See u soon.
Beautiful! Fantastic video and the effort you put into this shows.
Wow what a great compliment thank you so much
Greetings from Wales 🏴 nice video 👍 looks an awesome area for a wild camp. Mark has been to Canada 4 times, I’ve always wanted to go as we have watched ice hockey here in the UK for 36 years. Just subscribed to your channel and we are looking forward to watching more of your videos, great job 👍all the best Simon & Mark
Great video. It's amazing to me how even hikers will scratch their names into the trees and wood. Why are people so disrespectful of nature. Even so called nature enthusiast.
Yeah, it’s pretty sad.
Great video. I'm also based in Ontario and plan on doing lots of backcountry hiking/camping. Can't wait to get out!
Amazing! You'll have a blast
This is top notch man. You deserve way more subscribers! Good work!
Thanks a lot! trying to work my way up :P its a slow process for me!
Cool spot!! I was hoping to see the new doggo! 😊 Taking my sons hiking and camping in a couple weeks - can’t wait!!
It was a great spot!! I couldn’t take my dog on this trip. But next time for sure!
Bro, keep it up! you'll gain some traction in this channel I bet. You've clearly put a lot of effort into this and I'd love to see you succeed. Subscribed. I live in the Durham Region. Would love to backpack with you sometime (I'm thinking of starting a RUclips channel too)
I appreciate the kind words thanks so much!
subbed!! how did you know where you were allowed to camp overnight, was the shelter first come first serve?
Thanks for the sub, yeah it’s first come first serve but there’s lots of space. You can find the sites on google or on your Bruce trail maps
@@MattyFoOutdoors thankss 🙏🐐
Awesome video! Its my goal in the next year or two to complete the bruce trail end to end, this is part of my research for it 😅
That’s a great goal! Thank for watching I hope it helped
Awesome video
Thank you so much for watching I appreciate it!
Hi, great video. Where is the trailhead that you started from? Would like to go there in 2 weeks.
Thanks.
Good video. What part was most of the video shot?
Thanks a lot! It was in the beaver valley section.
@@MattyFoOutdoors right on, I actually live in Kincardine so nice and close. Again, nice work. Cheers.
How did you manage camping on the BT? I was researching going end to end but was warned by others and online research that camping is not allowed on the majority of the trail.
That if hiking the BT we have to make arrangements for places to stay for the night. I understand part of the reason is privately owned sections of the trail. What was your experience? I'm really interested. Not being able to camp is what put me off doing it. It's the main reason I haven't done it.
Hey! So if you google campsites on the Bruce trail they have a list of sites. But as you said they are definitely few and far in-between so you have to stay at hotel or air b and b’s for most of the trail
what about camping on the provincial parks along the trail? Are there fines if caught? As long as it's not a criminal charge. Which I read private property trespassing is.
Great video! Do they allow hammock camping outside the shelters or campsites on the BT? Thanks!😎👍
I don’t see it being an issue on the designated camp sites but you aren’t supposed so camp elsewhere on the trail
@@MattyFoOutdoors there a list of camps along the trail? Can one ride a bicycle on the trail?
@@raczyk yeah if you google campsites on the Bruce trail it should tell you. And it's mostly hiking but there are sole sections that bikes are allowed
Great video
I really enjoy it 👌
What km is that rest area ?
If you don’t mind me asking
I think u said it’s Beaver Valley it is the section of the BT
Thank you so much for checking out the video and I’m glad that you enjoyed it! It’s on Ambrose camp side trail (map 28 Sydenham section about 1.6 km)
Thank you
Hey man! what trail did you take!!?
Hey! This was along the Bruce Trail
I cannot seem to find the answer - what section of the trail is this? I am in Kitchener region and would love to get out for a night or two on the Bruce Trail.
Hello, It’s on Ambrose camp side trail (map 28 Sydenham section about 1.6 km)
@@MattyFoOutdoors Thank you! :)
what are the rules for camping? Bruce trail runs along private property. Is there public property to camp on?
Whereabouts on Bruce trail was that ?
Hello, It’s on Ambrose camp side trail (map 28 Sydenham section about 1.6 km)
@@MattyFoOutdoors thanks for your response, I had no hope though :)
