    What if your opponent kicks your basing leg away as he's dropping you? Not a wrestler here, but I've been taught this detail.

      When you are being lifted up, the person lifting is assuming you are going right to your belly. The majority of matches happen like so unless their legs get hooked that prevents them being lifted up. Its like playing dodge ball being 3 feet away and asking "what if they duck?" Their reaction time isnt going to be fast enough to duck that close. Likewise, when you are being lifted up, the reaction time to kick the foot out is unlikely.
